    Thanks for app info. 👍. Although I had access to apps even with my weight loss program… I chose not to use them. I did not want to spend hours on apps or learning new apps. My husband even wanted to buy me a Fitbit 🤷‍♀️ It was time consuming enough to log my weight every day and go on an hour walk. I wanted as little fuss as possible this time around. Everyone has to do what’s good for them.. whatever motivates. 🏃‍♀️ thanks for your info… I know it will help many 👍

    This is immensely helpful! I am now facing the need to lose weight and girth. I put on the post-menopausal 20-ish pounds and nearly 10 years later, in 2021, I got breast cancer (it's okay!). I had the lumpectomy and radiation and am now on 5 years of an aromatase inhibitor started December 2021 (which is known to induce weight gain) and have instantly gained 10 further pounds. Damn. So by my estimation, I have 30 lbs to lose to get back to my most usual premenopausal adult weight. I have lost an inch to osteoporosis, so my current stats are 5'1" and about 157 lbs. Premenopause my usual stable weight was around 125-127 lbs, numbers on the scale I have not seen in a decade. But now that I am getting ready to laser focus on better weight and health, I have this question: Was there any role that body measurements played for you? I am thinking that I would really know I was getting back a slimmer physique if I could go from my current size 14 pants back into my prior size 6-8 pants. To do that, I would have to lose the spare tire of a belly I have developed. But since muscle weighs more than fat, maybe my better indicator is a tape measure than a scale. I think it is possible that I could lose my tummy but still weigh northward of 130. I would love to hear if you did have any kind of girth measurement built into your routine. Congrats on your new baby!

    As you have already accomplished your major goal of losing 183 pounds, what is the harm in disclosing what your daily calorie limit is/was? I think it could be extremely helpful for people to get an understanding of exactly what it takes (food wise) to lose that amount of weight in the length of time. To be honest, that is clearly the most essential aspect to losing weight fast, is a calorie decefit. As such, be withholding that information a major key is being kept in the dark. I believe that ppl are smart enough to appreciate that everyone has different calorie requirements, but it gives a gage/ range which would have helped countless people. Even a calorie range?

      To lose 1 pound you need to burn 3500 calories. So if you burn 2500 calories a day and you want to lose 1 pounds a week (2500x7)-3500= 14000/7= 2000 so u eat 2000 calories aday. Based on how much you want to lose in a week you adjust. You first need to figure out how much you burn aday approximately, you can find calculators online or go to a nutritionist.
      I personally aim to lose 1kg/2pounds a week so i eat around 1400 to 1200 when i want to lose weight but thats if im not working out. If im working out i eat around 1600 calories. Im 172cm & 80kg.

      @debmi8839 Год назад

      There are plenty of TDEE calculators online to figure out how much YOUR body burns daily. You then subtract 500 cal per day for a total of 3500 calories (which equals one pound) over a week. Everyone's number will be different.

    Not sure if you've addressed this but here's my question:
    What do you do when you do mess up? Sometimes I have this mentality that if I messed up then I quit. Is there a secret to get over this mental roadblock? Because I'm sure you had mess up moments?

    • @mytelf5878

      I have felt the same way. It’s taken me a long, long time to understand no one is perfect, and we will have moments of misjudgment. It happens, it’s human. Stress, emotional eating is part of this journey. What I learned is that the more I plan my meals the better chance I have of sticking to my goal. If I take a detour, I get back to my goal for the next meal. And I journal my food intake, it makes me accountable. If you mess up, acknowledge it, get back on track, and move towards your goal. Hang in there, you are not alone. Good luck!!

    • @andreamiller6200
      @andreamiller6200 2 года назад

      I have a thought about messing up. If you just get back on the horse one more time than you mess up, you are still ahead! I feel like perfection is a trap but striving towards a goal allows for veering off course if you veer back on. The more you allow yourself to love yourself and be super-kind to yourself, the less departures from your plan will be able to derail you. The journey of a 1000 miles may begin with a single step, but it also involves walking into a dead end or falling into a hole. If you decide you will just re-route, you are still on the journey! Wishing you the BEST!

      Messing up is normal and part of the journey to get better. It is the Universe giving you a chance to forgive yourself and be kind to yourself and to not catastrophize it. It is a blip. Learn how to handle this for the future and you will win. Journal and ask yourself questions - “How do I feel about…” and then listen to what you are telling yourself. How do those thoughts make you feel? If you feel bad, those are not helpful thoughts. You haven’t quit if you are still wanting to lose weight.

      “Messing up” is part of the journey, no one can be perfect 100% of the time. Besides, this is a learning process. If we knew how to be at a healthy weight, we wouldn’t gained in in the first place. So, I am constantly trying to learn what works for me, and what doesn’t. But one thing I have realized is that “messing up” is an opportunity for self-sabotage. And this is where the importance of the mind component of weight loss kicks in. (I signed up for BodySlims that Carla used, and the first video they sent was mind blowing: weight loss needs 3 components, like a 3-legged stool: the right attitude, diet, and exercise). So, I have MADE UP MY MIND that I WILL NKT GIVE UP until I reach my goal weight. And I “mess up” several times a week, but I just get back up and start again. And I will lose 5 pounds and gain 4, and you know what? That’s still 1 pound lost. And I’m sure it’s fat lost because I am gradually hitting new lows every week. I am again below 200 lbs, I’ve been so close for months, and finally breaking that barrier IS HUGE. And then I weigh in above the 200 market, but my high is not what it used to be, so I know I’m on the right path, and I just get up again and start over. And over. And over. And every day, every week I learn something new, try something new, and I just keep stacking all these approaches on top of each other, and it’s slowly working. At -1 pound a week I’ll be 52 pounds lighter in a year. And living those new principles, I’ll be a completely transformed person.
