Your video was a life-saver for me! So much that I had to come back and search for it so I could loop back and thank you. I have been on WW for a million years like many of us. I finally realized why it wasn't working and stopped blaming myself for non-compliance. I'm no athlete, but I run one to three times per week. When you said you get more points for exercise on healthi it was like a lightbulb went off. On WW, when I tracked and ran three times a week I'd go WAY over my points and lose weight anyway. So then the plan lost it's credibility. This caused me to feel overconfident and like I didn't have to worry about points afterall. Then I'd gain weight. It was the exercise that was messing with me. On healthi, I get 10 points for a three mile run instead of 3. So the data actually means something. Better yet, it's motivating me to run more. On ww you get like three choices while healthi breaks down to your minutes per mile (I know how fast I run). I've been on healthi a week, and finally started losing after consistently creeping up weight. Thank you for such a thorough and close look at these programs :)

Thank you for the comparison. I absolutely loved WW until they cancelled my local mtg place. The next nearest is an hour away. I figured if I had to do a plan online, I might as well spend less, much less, and for the first week Healthi seems to be working,

Thank you for this very thorough review. I have been on WW for the past 8 months and was disappointed with the plan change and I have been looking for an alternative, but hesitant to try anything new since I am doing so well with WW. Just this week I heard about WW getting into the big Pharma business of weight loss drugs, and that news has made me want to switch even more. I really appreciate your opinion and honest comparison.

The calorie counter is a HUGE pro to me in Healthi. I don't like the community set up in Healthi near as much as WW. But at the cost savings, I can deal with that. The price difference goes into savings.

Great video and review! Thanks! I'm a WW Lifetime member at goal for the past 7 years. No, change was not fun with all of the program changes, but I adapted and maintained my goal weight on all of them. As you probably have heard, WW is drastically changing. No more monthly weigh ins for Lifetime members, no more studios for in person workshops (the few that are open will be gone within a year), and the biggest shock of all, the move to weight loss drugs! So, if they delete my free WW app as a Lifetime member, then I'll definitely probably sign up for Healthi.

I have done WW for over 20 years, almost always at or below goal (I’m a Lifetimer). The constant plan changes have been frustrating. But the requirement to return to meetings without advance notice, and the closest meeting being 26 miles one way, plus an attempt to bill me after fulfilling their once a month requirement to weigh in in person has me looking elsewhere. Just driving to the meeting and back is almost $10/month with the current cost of gas. That alone justifies paying for Healthi. Thanks for you detailed comparison. I’m sure Healthi will experience a huge uptick thanks to WW’s recent changes.

I've been on and off weight watchers since the late 1980s. I've had success With It more so on the older plans and on the recent ones. I remember using that slider, and then the little calculator. Unfortunately now I can't afford the weight watcher annual fee. I just downloaded the Healthi this week and I've already lost 1.5 lb on the Conqueror Cravings plan. I'm going to upgrade to the pro plan so that I can also track calories and sync with my Fitbit. I was torn between the Conquer cravings and the carb conscious... But hearing you say that the Conquer cravings was more like the old momentum then I think I'm on the right plan because I had a lot of success on that plan. I'm just curious the plan is now 29.99 for the year... Does that go up to $60 after one year or am I locked into that 29.99?

I’m loving weight watchers. I have not used healthy, I’d really love to,be able to swing the meetings. I’d love to,do the virtual ones most of the time and then weigh in at a live meeting once a month. Financially I don’t see that happening. If I ever get anywhere near where I could be lifetime I’d switch before that so I could get it. My highest weight recorded was 365. I’m currently 302.6. Most of that loss was before ww on a different type of plan. Anyway I have a very long way to go! I’m fighting for my life and I need the balance, the scientific research and the huge amount of support WW offers. So for me and my journey I’m very thankful for it! I’ll pray for you as you continue towards maintenance and make your decision about which is best for you past that! I enjoyed seeing you today! 😊 Hope the girls and Gary and You are all doing well! ❤

I have used Healthi and like it because I’m able to track calories at the same time. I don’t like that the new ww plan took away oatmeal and potatoes and cut my points. I feel like I have to track calories or I won’t be eating enough and then what’s the point of being on their program if I have to double track? But the ww app is more user friendly and so it’s a hard decision

I am a lifetime, weight watcher member, and so have one year of not having to weigh in monthly ahead of me and so I will probably stick with Weight Watchers. However, I am interested in the Healthi app because I also track my calories through the Lose It! app because the zero point foods in Weight Watchers is sometimes a trigger for me to over eat and when I get just past the point of full, it’s sometimes triggers a binge so I’ve been counting calories to make sure that I’m not over eating the zero point foods. I appreciate your comparison of Weight Watchers to the Healthi app and will keep checking in!

I have also been a longtime ww member, off and on from the early 80s. I have lifetime status, but haven't gotten to their goal in awhile so I've been paying. I heard about Healthi last year on a you tube video such as yours, and also did a side by side comparison. You did an excellent job of spelling things out. My main reasons for dropping ww was I was doing well on the personal points plan and then after all the hype when it was introduced they just reversed it. Also, when I saw how much money I was spending on ww for what I could get on Healthi, it was a no brainer for me. So far I'm happy with Healthi. Still tracking, scanning boxes and participating with their on line community. If you put in the effort and be honest, either one works.

Thanks for the honest review. I’m doing the same thing and using both apps at the same time. One thing I have noticed is that Weight Watchers will let you use their website to track foods so if I copy a recipe over it makes it easy. The healthi app will not allow you to track food on their website, only on the app. So I find that to be a huge thumbs down for me.
However, I do like that they are very close in points. Sometimes Weight Watchers is more sometimes healthi is more and I think it equals out. I also think the cost would really bring me over, but Weight Watchers just sent me something in the mail for losing 5 pounds for free where healthy wants you to pay five dollars to get your little prizes and that won me over again for Weight Watchers.
Also, I totally agree with you that healthi makes it harder to track foods when they won’t give you as many options for how you measure, like teaspoons instead of grams.

Also, I just started using both apps in January. I took a look at the free version of Healthi a few weeks before getting started to see how it all worked. I find WW has a much cleaner app. It’s much easier to find things like restaurants or my notifications.

My situation is similar to yours. I started Weight Watchers last June and have lost 45 pounds. Currently it is costing me $22.95 per month and that is more than I really want to pay. I heard about the Healthi App last year and I joined their Pro plan in November and chose Better Balance. I just started using the app in the last couple of weeks to see if I like it. I agree with some of your pros and cons about both apps. I am getting used to the Healthi app and feel I would be ok using it to continue losing 23 more pounds. I do like that I can see my calories on the Healthi App. This is the second time that I have been on the Weight Watcher plan but I am not really tied to Weight Watchers. I do like the Weight Watchers App and I would like to stay on it for another 5 months but I don't want to pay $22.95. I guess I could cancel and sign up under another promotion but I really don't want to track in two apps. Tracking in both apps is getting a little old. Also, you mentioned that you wished you could see more information on your activity in the Healthi App. If you click on progress at the bottom of the Tracker page, you can see your weight, food and activity information by the week, month, quarter, year or all. I believe I will be cancelling my Weight Watcher membership and will give Healthi a try. Thanks for all the information you presented here!
