The Ice Age movies progressively got worse by magnitudes each time, but one thing is for sure; Scrat is still funny. He's the loser you want to root for, even though you know he will continuously fail.
Scrat was always the best part of these movies but eventually even the Scrat skits got too stupid. He completely "jumped the shark" when they had him going to space on a flying saucer.
Actually it's implied that the pirates were together before the drift. Shira makes it sound like she's been with Captain Gutt since she was a kitten, or at least very young as she's his first mate and she's known him the longest.
But who were they robbing?
@@bennysundance175 more than likely sailing around robbing other animals. I highly doubt the “settlement” the main characters live on is the only one with life on it.

8:07 Oh don't worry Jeremy, there's only one more of these movies plus the Christmas and Easter specials and that spinoff movie on Disney+ with Buck Wild that nobody ever talks about.
That Buck Wild movie was just extremely bizarre. It was missing just about everything that made every single other movie enjoyable (to varying degrees), while nothing that it added managed to stick the landing.
How do they have Christmas or Easter before Paganism or Christianity existed

I don’t think we ever got the answer for why Buck’s sword was in this movie. 😅were they trying to make us think the Pirates killed Buck?😢
@@phigranewmo9934 I think they just used the same model because it made sense that crude, prehistoric tools would resemble one another. So it probably just wasn't worth making a fresh model that would probably have wound up being extremely similar anyway.

Few years ago me and my brother used to go on road trips with my grandparents and this movie, and this movie only, we watched over and over.
One year we watched it so much, the portable dvd player killed the car battery.
Bullies 100% can switch to your side after you show you can hold your own, doesn't happen every time, but it does happen.

14:50 It was a plot point in the second movie that Manny and Ellie were seemingly the only two mammoths left, and despite the herd of other mammoths showing up at the end, they all seem to have moved on elsewhere at the start of the third movie, so it’s safe to say that there weren’t any other mammoths for Gut and his crew to mistake for Manny’s family.
How does Manny know about the Easter bunny if Easter wasn't even invented until thousands of years later
I was surprised this wasn't mentioned, lol.
Actually there's an Easter special which takes place five years after this movie. Though still Manny shouldn't have the knowledge of Easter Bunny
I quite literally JUST rewatched this movie
This movie may not be the best to other peoples eyes( to me i personally good to me) but we have to all agree the the best part is the absolute banger of a song,"THE UNDISPUTED MASTER OF THE SEA"🗣🔥 Also in general, Captain Gutt is honestly one of the best villans in animated history
I saw this in theaters, and I don’t think I had many thoughts on this movie, but looking back now I’m certain that any thoughts or emotions I felt could be summed up with “Well, it’s a movie.”
Hey, at least this is the last movie in the franchise that actually is genuinely good. We don't talk about Collision Course or Adventures of Buck Wild.
Any movie that contained a chipmunk spear army would absolutely make me Continental Drift off while watching it.
You know what... the first Ice Age movie was great. and I'm just convinced the others are a wild fever dream.
The way I nearly dropped my whole ass bowl of food because I saw this!!! This is literally my childhood favourite movie and I LOOOVE your content so this is soooo awesome to see!!
Some trivia: the Scrat segments *actually were* originally released as a theatrical short- or, more specifically, a 2 part short named Scrat's Continental Crackup. Part 1 released in front of the Jack Black version of Gulliver's Travels, Part 2 in front of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.
It was surprisingly common for him actually- he had "Gone Nutty" in front of the 2004 Garfield Movie, then another one with The Peanuts Movie that essentially did the same as this one: show only his scenes from the following movie pretty much as they were in this one.
Ironically, even this had the acclaimed Simpsons short "Maggie Simpson in: 'The Longest Daycare'" run with it in theaters- and some critics actually admitted it was better than the MOVIE.
I don't care what anybody says; the Ice Age movies are funny and imaginative.
I mean, pirate animals on a ship made of ice - you can't tell me that's not at least thematically interesting.

There's a lot about this franchise I dislike; it should have ended after the first movie imho; and I do agree with probably most of the problems Jeremy has with it. However, at 10:47, I have to say, they're ANIMALS. It truly does not fkg matter, lol. Mating ensures/insures the survival of the species.

All right some of these sins are deserved but I’m gonna deal with 2 right now. 1. The pirate crew having supposedly just been formed. No they weren’t they’ve been doing this for years. You’re correct there aren’t other ships out there. There are however islands like the one we see in the movie. They aren’t capturing ships they are raiding islands. Having said that I’ll add a sin back because since they aren’t capturing ships it doesn’t make much sense for them to have ship boarding equipment. 2. Him complaining about an ape holding its own against a mammoth so you know how strong a gorilla is? This is an ape that’s almost as tall as a mammoth this thing dwarves any currently existing ape and those things can wrestle lions and tigers. So yes captain gut can in fact give Manny a fight

It's not a total myth. Most of the people I know who regularly did you-know-what moved onto harder stuff. They didn't necessarily stay there, but they did go harder. It's an exaggerated statistic, sure, but not a total myth.

No, they should have ended with the one just before this. Buck was a fun character and having the baby just get born at the end of the movie was fine. I didn't need to see Peaches as a bratty, boring teenager after that.
