Guys I’m sorry about the video saying 64 oz of oil! It’s actually 48oz of oil if you aren’t changing the filter. If you’re changing the filter it calls for 56oz of oil. Please refer to your owners manual and make sure you put the right amount in. I did have to drain some out after I made the vid. Sorry guys
Thanks for the video! I'm a 61 year old widow and i had changed the oil a few years ago but forgot how to do it🙈 Your video was a great refresher for me. I did have a moment of panic when you mentioned the amount of oil, lol but after verifying the specs in my manual I was good.
Single woman here, had mower about 3 yrs and just got done with changeing to new tires, new battery, new fuel & air filter, new spark plug, and now I know how to change the oil!! Seriously, thanks for the video & explaining it so this dummy can do it!!! 😂
This was a GREAT resource man, and just in time for the season. I'm doing this over the weekend. I ran the trickler charger on it for half a day and she came to life after months of no activity just fine. Now to treat her to some clean lubrication :) Thanks for taking the time to make this and for the tips!
I appreciate your effort bud.. thanks for taking the time and recording this.. haven’t changed mine in a couple of years and needed a refresher just to be on the safe side.. this was perfect.
Looked good. Just need to be certain on the correct amount of ounces to add. Also, did not seem to drain as much as I would be putting in. But overall, an excellent presentation. Last year I had called Husq about how one gets to the drain. The cust rep had no clue because they were referring to the maint. manual which did not show anything about removing the plastic black panel nor how. Geez! GREAT VIDEO, Sir. Thank you very much.
Thank you! I bought the same mower last spring and I cut 1&1/2 acres each cut and leave the rest for a farmer to cut. Didn’t disappoint but one thing I can’t find anywhere in the instructions is a metal bracket with 2 mounting holes but nothing is in the instructions as to what it is.. any ideas?
Just changed my oil per this video. Came to find out that this mower takes 48OZ of oil not 64OZ. Will be draining some tomorrow morning. Take heed people!!!!!
I didn't get a chance to change the oil, I bought this model Husqvarna YTH18542 it is a 2021 Model with a Briggs 18.5 HP engine, I mowed my lawn only 4 times ( 6 hours of use ) after purchasing the mower and the Briggs engine threw a rod right through the engine block. are these newer Briggs engines junk? also I heard Briggs claimed bankruptcy and now only has one plant.
Where did you get “2 quarts” of oil? My YTH18542 B&S engine model 330000 says on pg. 9 of the manual “Oil Capacity” is 46 - 48 oz, which is about 1.5 quarts.

Oh, sorry. Never mind. I see where you corrected this.
What weight oil??
SAE 30
How many hours before your first oil change?
I cut an acre every couple weeks in Texas for about 4 months I’d say and I used it for two seasons before I changed it
Also check it to make sure it’s not dark and dirty looking. If so, it’s time to change it
Sell me that same plastic panel you take off in the beginning?
Look it up on eBay you might find it lol
4 X18oz. = 74oz. ? Swedish math?
🤣
Hey it doesn't take that much oil stop posting stuff you dont know its misleading and not helpful!
It needs a little less than that but you can drain it out and check your level. You don’t have to watch any of my videos 👍🏽
Just subscribe man! You can correct me on all my videos lol
