    HI I WAS TOLD TO - NOT TO OIL OR GREASE OPENED GEARS. THAT DOING SO , WOULD GATHER DIRT AND CAUSE MORE WARE ON THEM. I HAVE USED DRY SLIDE ON SOME OPENED SLIDING PARTS BUT NEVER GREASE. THAT IS JUST MY THOUGHT ON GREASE THERE. GOOD VIDEOS . KEEP IT UP.

    Need to set those scalp wheels. There are youtube videos on how to set them. This will keep you from scalping the yard when it is not perfectly flat.

      No wheels on the back of these decks. When linkage wears/gets slop decks cut bad.

    I've got a cub cadet ltx1040 that I hit something near the end of season last year so hard the blade on one side quit working. I've taken it apart and the star pattern on the spindle is gone leaving the blade to free spin. I'd just put new belts and stuff on it so I went ahead and bought a total deck rebuild kit. Got 2 new sindles,nuts,2 new idlers,and a set of Oregon g5 gatorblades for $85 off Amazon. A fella I mow for is tryin to sell me this model husqvarna for $400 that needs axle seals. Its a nice lookin mower,but the tranny is plastic. It runs and drives well,so I may get it and fix it. I think the seals are less than $20

      Mine is hydro trans, I have heard the composite axles are troublesome. I'd have to look into the repair. I was looking at a cub cadet also. Some parts are made to break which is good. That energy has to go somewhere. Thanks for taking the time to post a comment. I hope you subscribed.

    1) great quality video - everything you did was very clear and easy to see and understand;
    2) I love that you have exactly the same mower I have, make and model;
    3) glad to find your channel - because my mower has locked up because I inadvertently ran over a t-shirt (trash in tall grass) which immediately locked the blades and killed the engine. Problem is, I can’t get the cloth off the blade shaft! I have been able to pull off scraps, but the bulk of it just will not move. Do you - oh wise one - have any suggestions short of removing the blade? Btw, the cloth is wrapped around the shaft of the blade ,of the two, that won’t turn so I can’t work it loose. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

      Remove the affected blades and hubs. You may have to remove the shaft assembly and then using a razor sharp utility knife cut away at the cloth. Patience

      Got it done. I wound up just pulling the entire deck - really easy, just 5 clips, a belt and the cable - and that gave me full access to cut off the shirt. Thank you so much!

    I had a loose blade and wore down part of the star blade mount. How is that replaced?

      That's the hub, or blade adapter. It is a relatively cheap part available at your local small engine repair store. Failing that Amazon has lots of them. Be sure to find the right part number from the Data sticker on your machine.
