Torklift Central manufactures and distributes the only hidden trailer hitch for the 2013-2017 Volkswagen Golf TDI/GTI. This hitch is no drill and bolts onto the factory frame. The hitch rests just below the bumper skin to maintain a low visibility profile and provide as much ground clearance as possible.

Does the fit a 2015 GTI? It has the dual exhaust, one on each side. Also, will I need to cut or modify the bottom black plastic diffuser? I see some kind of cut or modification on the diffuser in the Golf in your video. Thanks
Hey Henry, we appreciate your questions. There are customers that have installed the EcoHitch on the 2015 GTI. Here is a review on VW Vortex of their installation: forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?7430953-Torklift-Ecohitch-install-on-mk7-GTI-tips-and-photos. There is a little cutting of the valance required in order to fit the hitch.

+RollYourRock Thanks for the question! We have not confirmed fitment of EcoHitch for 2003 Golf TDI as of yet. Currently this EcoHitch is only confirmed to fit the 2015 model year of the vehicle.
This video states 2013-2017, I visit your site and it only gives me the ability to choose 2015-2017 GTI.
Do either of the years 2015-2017 GTI choices fit a 2013 GTI?
Hey Jay Son! We apologize for the delayed response. There was an update in fitment and as of right now we do not have a confirmed fit for the 2013 GTI.
Is this 2” or 1 1/4 receiver in this video? Because I want 2” and I don’t want it to look to big. I need this for my gti so I can transport my bikes.

Does this hitch require trimming the bumper on a 2015 Golf TDI?
Hello kitten35cr - thank you for your question and interest in the Golf TDI EcoHitch. There is minor trimming of the bumper to allow for the hitch to be installed, but we do include a length of Trim-Lok to make it look nice and clean.

Does this fit a 2015-2016 golf R? Maybe small mod to diffuser?
Marc We have not confirmed fitment of this EcoHitch for the 2015-2016 Volkswagen Golf R. Variations of the rear fascia, exhaust system, etc. could effect whether or not the hitch may be a fit. If the only change to the R model of the Golf over the TDI/GTI variant that effects EcoHitch fitment is the fascia (or diffuser) you should be able to cut out a small area in it to allow the hitch receiver to pass through and be good to go. However we cannot guarantee EcoHitch for 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI/GTI will fit the R model you mention at this time. If you’d like please send a request to ecohitch@tlcentral.com. We would be happy to send you a digital copy of the installation instructions for the hitch for your reference.
Will this work on the 2015 TDI Golf Sportwagen as well?

BandB1111111, thank you for the question. Currently this EcoHitch is only confirmed for the TDI/GTI. We haven't had a TSI in the shop to test fitment but we always announce our new EcoHitch fitments on our Facebook and Twitter so stay tuned!

Brilliant! Thank your your timely response - I did not find that when I tried using your search tool. So glad there is an option for a hidden 2” receiver. No interference with, or vibration against, the exhaust system?
Sorry - one more for you. In what way is the receiver removable? I assume this means WITHOUT removing the entire hitch. But in the pics the receiver looks like it is welded-on to the rest of the hitch.
