What a gorgeous soul you are, I adore your energy 🥰
I was just prescribed Vyvanse today, and will try it for the first time tomorrow. I'm both nervous and excited, and related to you a lot in this video. I feel more of a sense of comfort knowing that if it doesnt work out, then I'm not alone, and I can find another path forward
Wishing that you are thriving 🧚🏼‍♀️🍀

I’m the exact same person that happens to go through the exact same process right now as well! So I mayyy or may not switch to non-stimulants from Vyvanse :)
I firmly enjoyed the authenticity in your video!

This lady is a ray of sunshine and all who encounter her are surely better for it.
I encourage anyone interested in a deeper understanding of ADHD to watch some RUclips content from Dr. Gabor Mate. He is a Canadian with ADD himself and with a very important message for everyone that is both suffering from and blessed by their ADHD symptoms AND unique proficiencies. His book on the subject is called ‘Scattered Minds’.

How long did it take for the side effects to fade away? What you describe sounds like what I had, did you get PVCs? I also found they didn't go away after I stopped concerta, which made me feel like the meds had "broken" something. Finding out what it was helped relief a lot of anxiety since those are relatively harmless although still very scary. Hope you are feeling better now.

I just started elvanse a bit more than a week ago, so your insights was extremely Nice.
The side effects you experienced sounds a lot like the one i had when i was on ritalin, because it triggered My anxiety.
Cause i Got tested through and through for heart defects and Such.
But chest pain, shortness of breath, heart palpetations Are Also symptoms of anxiety.
    Just a thought.

Thank you for sharing! I'm a 35 yo female, just got diagnosed and just started on Vyvanse. When did you start having issues? My first day has been absolutely beautiful with minimal side effects, so I'm just praying it will continue like that. Even if I get some headaches or nausea I would be fine with that because that's how much I need the meds. But heart issues are of course very serious, and I'm terrified of experiencing that.

    • @goalsandgiggles

I’m so glad that you’ve had a lovely first day on the medication. I’ve heard so many people say that the first day is the best! Like you, the little side effects didn’t bother me (especially because most of the minor things go away after a week or two). The first time around, my heart stuff started about a week and a half into taking it. Then I was taken off them and put back on them. The second time around it started about 2 weeks in (maybe slightly longer). My blood pressure was incredibly high when I was on them (even though it’s fine when I don’t take them) and I suppose the two were connected in some way. Please don’t let it scare you though, my side effects were pretty extreme and aren’t too common. My friend and I started elvanse at the same time and it works brilliantly for her and she’s staying on it and upping her dose - hopefully your journey will be more like that and less turbulent than mine haha! I’m very jealous, it did wonders for my brain and really worked. It’s just a shame my body was so sensitive to it!

Speaking from a combination of personal anecdotal experience and extensive online research (including a 2 hr podcast from the creator of Vyvanse, the full medication guide that's supposed to be provided to every patient [in the US at least], and some research literature from the National Library of Medicine) most of the side effects of Vyvanse can be mitigated to a great degree, however everybody is different so there is no one size fits all solution. Firstly, it's commonly stated that issues with headaches, as well as gastrointestinal issues (not going enough AND/OR the exact opposite) are often a downstream effect of dietary issues such as not getting enough fluids, electrolytes, and food especially. Since it is so easy to forget to eat for some people, the lack of nutrition combined with the stimulatory effects can be a common culprit of these kind of side effects. Regarding Cardiovascular concerns, I personally believe (obviously this is something for you and your doctor to discuss in the context of your personal life) that the majority of people on an amphetamine of any kind, or any strong stimulant with pronounced racemic properties, should co-administer some kind of anti-hypertensive, whether it be a Beta Blocker; an ACE Inhibitor; or an ARB. Again, everybody is unique and affected differently, but this is a relatively easy, inexpensive, and very well tolerated/is very safe & beneficial in mitigating the potential cardiovascular side effects stimulant medications often come with.

    • @goalsandgiggles
      @goalsandgiggles  Год назад

@@sd-gb5yb Like you said, everyone is different and the medical professionals were concerned that it was too risky for me to continue with any type of stimulant as my body reacted too sensitively to it. Funnily enough it did the same with non-stimulants but in a VERY different way. My body is very sensitive to medication generally, so it makes sense that this applies here too and why extra medication wasn’t entertained. But to be fair, as a personal preference, I probably would have rejected that anyway. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, I’m sure it’s positively life changing for some people! It’s just an individual choice not to be balancing multiple meds based on my past experiences :) it’s not for me haha!

@@rebeccal7756 when I was on my stimulant meds I switched to decaf. I know some people who have limited amounts of caffeinated coffee on stimulants and are totally fine, but I also know others can’t tolerate it. I didn’t want to until my body got used to the meds. I think your body will let you know if caffeine is too much 🙈 personally, I just had decaf because I didn’t feel I needed the caffeine boost when I was on stimulants and was happy just to have the taste of coffee with my decafs ☺️

I actually can’t remember the name off the top of my head because I was only on it for a week before having to stop it due to more side effects 🙈 it wasn’t a brand name, it was very much a medical/scientific name. It was one of the ones recommended under the NICE guidelines (Scotland).

Just be careful, tolerance builds and you have to increase dosages if you're on it multiple times a week and when it stops working and you have no chemical help, ADHD/focus problems will get worse. All amphetamines can be neurotoxic in the long term and in high dosages, amphetamines downregulates your normal dopamime receptors, this can in the long term cause anhedonia, diminished drive, depression, tardive dyskinesia and certain psychotic disorders and in bad cases also brain damage, the effects of amphetamines on the brain is well studied. Just be careful, everything has pros and cons.

I’m disgusted by the childish idiocy that would lead someone to publicly insult this lovely woman. I’m sure a lot of people have been helped by this material. As for her demeanour - it was so nice to start my day listening to her cheerful speech and seeing her smiles. The lady is differently abled and the insulting child that prompted my response has got to be the disabled one. Hopefully that person will become inattentive and distracted enough to move on. I’ll wager that she will be getting asked for a few more phone dates before long. A lot of us dream about having someone like her in our lives and about BEING more like her. Trolls drool and this lady rules.
