Finally an electric car that looks actually good - looking at you BMW... this is a really beautiful car. Tesla's got competition, especially the inside - Jag's so much better looking in my opinion.
As a Tesla owner and fan, I'm happy with the competition. It will be good for everyone. I don't see it that there is an "EV" market. There is a car market, currently serviced by Gasoline, Diesel and Electric vehicles. If Jag makes a great EV, they won't be digging into Tesla's market share, they'll be cannibalizing their own ICE market share. The top selling cars will soon all be EVs - probably starting with the model 3 which will be the top selling sedan (EV or not). I'm glad Jag is getting into the game, but if they're serious, they need to add more EVs to their lineup. They need something to compete with the model S, since they're known as a performance brand.
You know, as much as I don't like EVs, what Jag did with the I pace is IMPRESSIVE. And the fact that a British manufacturer for once is launching a luxury EV SUV before the bland German brands makes me proud. Also big up to TATA for investing heavily on Jag saving them and allowing them to be themselves and keep their British identity !!
Only downside I read and hear is a lack of charging stations, up to 8hrs charge if this is correct, til more charging stations became available, even at your place of work, to charge whilst working, as person's living in flats, on road parking with no option to charge from a charger fitted to their home's is a issue to resolve for the future of electric or (your local city jag dealership would collect your ev from your home, to take it to the dealership with a charge station at their dealership, for you.. to charge it for 8hrs, and then return it to you once charged up or a courtesy car whilst yours charge) with a focus on a build of lower charging time's, also, (but if i could loan a courtesy car in on road parking with the no option to have a charger fitted to the home), whilst mine charged i certainly would love one, I love it, and the best styling of a electric car, I've seen at present
T H-L tesla superchargers make tesla a go anywhere with ease ev , i love jags, and they have a car to be really proud of, we need to kill petrol and without tesla, none of this would of happened. Should of happened decades ago.
Better than Tesla? It's competitive, but it has some definite drawbacks. Tesla has a worldwide supercharging network - don't underestimate how important that is. Tesla has now about 10 years experience making EVs, and this is Jag's first. They get to make all the same mistakes Tesla has made over the last 10 years. This is a nice car, seemingly. I'd like to drive one to see what it feels like - but as a 5 year Model S owner, I won't be so easily wooed.
It`s much, much better than Tesla! When we think about quality, Jaguar wins with Tesla in every detail. Tesla supercharging network, is completlly useless for me! in my country there are only few of Tesla supercharging stations . But, there are dozens of others superchargers. I don`t need Tesla charging at all!
i probably missed it but i couldn't find them mention the actual weight even though they lamented about it so much. i would have thought comparing it to the tesla model x is more appropriate than comparing it to the model s. claiming it has "one of the longest ranges of any electrical car" seems like a bit of a stretch. The Tesla S and 3 have longer ranges and the X is -3 miles on range. All the other cheaper pure EVs available today are in a different class in terms of price and range. I think Jaguar has done a good job of providing a range that competes with other higher end EVs. maybe i'm splitting hairs.
wow, yeah, that is pretty heavy. and still, it's about the same as a tesla model s so maybe pretty impressive for this class of vehicle. a good deal lighter than a model x as well.
The Tesla Model 3 has proven to be a good handling, long range EV. Watch BMW M2 vs Tesla Model 3 video, the results by the drivers are surprising. ruclips.net/video/HycUgd6fTWI/видео.html
This would need to be half the price of a Tesla .. since they don't have a Tesla super charging network...It would look good in someone's driveway.. but not much farther.
You just charge overnight at your home. There's no such thing as a "supercharger." Taking 30, 40 or 50 minutes to get a decent charge is not in the slightest "super." It's ridiculously slow compared to filling your tank. BEVs are for driving within 100 miles of your home base and charging overnight, and that's how most BEV buyers are going to use them until you can "fill your [battery] tank" in ten minutes on nearly every street corner.
@@aldeflorio5500 After driving for 3hrs.. i stop to pee and get something to eat.. my car is giving me warnings that i need to move the car from the super charger.. for me the super charger ..charges too fast. I can travel long distance faster than i can in any gas car.. because a gas car requires 100% of your attention when filling.. an electric car requires 0% of your attention to fill. it is the opposite of what you think.
Jag & LandRover are near bankruptcy AGAIN, so thumbs up for profit margins management over last 10y Jaaaaaaaag. Spanners. And why are the touch screens response so lethargic, its worse than a cheap smartphone from 2007. "one of the longest ranges of any electric car"? "298 miles" ...my ass NO IT DON"T Kia NiroEV, Hyundai KonaEV, Old Tesla's, New Teslas S, X & 3s all way longer ranges by a lot.
Why would you want to corrupt it with a gasoline engine? Hybrids won't be around in 5 years - it'll be 100% BEV. Go look at InsideEV's EV scorecard, and check out where the hybrids are. Not impressive. The only hybrid selling well right now is the Prius Prime, and once the model 3 ramps up, the Prius will drop off the face of the earth.

@@ColinFox first they'll have to get down in price., down to petrol car prices.
Jaguar should be very proud with this beast.

Have you driven an S or a Bolt? Once you go EV, you never go back......
Just FYI, road noise will be fixed by playing AC/DC really loud.
For some reason electric cars have to look weird, ( BMW I3 ) but this Jag looks niiiiiiiiiiice
BMW ///M I made a comparison video about cars:

The Chevy Volt is a real looker in person, and the Model S is pretty sexy. Form follows function for green folks.
The IPACE might be better than all of Jaguar’s other cars! Exciting to see these in the states soon
Jaguar has made a first class job , and they should proud of creating such an amazingly desirable ev. I want one
I'm not a big SUV, but this car. I really want this car.
Such a good car!
Could this or the E-Pace replace the F-Pace as Jaguars best selling car?
Green Mode I think It could
How much fast charging infrastructure available at this moment for this car?

Best electric car in the world, congrats Jag.
Any reliability problems?
I'd take the Jag over any Tesla/other EV anyday

Wow! This is defiantly the best EV so far. Very appealing car outside and inside. Better than a Tesla.

They have one at the Sarasota,Fl Land Rover dealership. Workmanship finishes are nicer than Tesla. Downfall-no Superchargers😞
2.2 Tons or Tonnes? US Tons or Metric Tonnes? Its probably better to not use that unit the Metric Tonne is not a proper metric unit either.
4:42 “..all the cars we’ve drived so far..”
Are you kidding me Autocar? You’re supposed to be journalists, that speak English.
I think he said "tried" not "drived"...
It's a Jaguar not a Jag you peasant!
Found a niche so at least some game against the T.

These EVs are just too expensive and have too little range to justify their prices. My diesel can go 500-600 miles to a tank.

Would have been better if it had been a Hybrid
