Part two of "Acelo" (Acela & Avelo), I return to New Haven, Connecticut to fly back home on Avelo Airlines on their usual Boeing 737-700. But I also give a brief, seldom-seen look inside of Tweed New Haven Airport.

Ticketing and check-in are in a portable structure outside the main entrance, as you'll hit TSA as soon as you enter the terminal. Just past the checkpoint is a short hallway with flight displays that takes you straight to the two gates that the airport uses. G Café Bakery, a local staple, serves as the food concession.
Boarding from gate 3, we walked up the airstairs, and with a manifest of about 30 people, we departed 15 minutes early. An ultra low-cost carrier or ULCC, Avelo doesn't offer snacks or WiFi. But you can bring your own food and entertainment. Branded bottles of water are available upon request. To note, this was the first -700 to enter service for Avelo. Coming into BWI, we were greeted with many special liveries for various airlines.

Great HD video. HVN's runway seems short for sustained 737 operations. I used to live & work not far from there years ago and was surprised Avelo choose the airport as a hub for their east coast operations given the short runway and populated area. Loved watching the southerly take off with the view of Long Island sound.
