Wouldn't it be easier to tell when someone switches account like that by adding your foe to your friend's list when they say "gl" or something at the start of the fight by right clicking the username in the chat; and with Runelite you can see a coloured name above your friends. When your enemy would log out to switch, the name would dissapear. It doesn't require too much and it is one click.

Lmao you can't compare this to Duel Arena scamming. If you're getting scammed at the Duel Arena you're simply just very stupid. This skull-trick was so sneaky executed that a normal person wouldn't be able to tell you were being skull-tricked. This is just excellent strategy and tactics. No scamming, no cheating, no "too good to be true" scenarios. If you bring bandos to a pvp world or the wilderness, you should be able to afford losing it.

@santa's brother there's literally over a dozen skull tricks around. and it all works around the fact that you can't visually tell until its too late. pretty big scam imo. considering you can lose absolute bank over this.
@santa's brother that's where you'd be wrong if we were to talk about rules or laws. breaking a rule is breaking a rule regardless of what you make of it. as far as jagex is concerned, scamming is the second highest offense next to botting.
the only reason jagex has let this go thus far, is because they're not sure if they should consider it a scam or not. but considering you usually get more backlash than praise for these kinds of tricks, i'd say it speaks for itself if you wish for pvp to remain a popular activity.
@santa's brother except it does. its not the pvmers but the pkers who complain about the community getting smaller. and the cause is obvious. we got skull tricks abusing game mechanics, and a power creep that gets higher and higher so you that you can drop people even faster, but also easier.
and these videos are a good example to show what is reflected on the forums and polls. these youtubers draw thousands of views to give you an idea of what the average person thinks of it. the average active playerbase in osrs is literally around 100k.
@santa's brother correct. people look at it from a business perspective. and that might be why there's plenty of conflict with the pvp system. rolling damage dice and being able to get lured and/or skulltricked doesn't fit into a reliable business model in the average adult's head. in fact if you think about it, the fact that some people need these kinds of methods to make gp kind of reinforces it. they need that borderline acceptable leverage to consistently earn big.

I've been on it since 2008 and I have more fingers on my right hand than I do games I've enjoyed on there. Sure, roblox is valued high, but that's because they have 1000s of devs making games for them and they take 70% of the profit they make. All roblox has to do is manage servers. Name me one game that doesnt have 15 "game passes" with shit like: 2x xp, 2x loot etc.Horrible money grab, osrs is far better and much healthier of a game design. Money value of a company is not a good comparison of seeing which is "better"

I have always thought skull-tricking should be against rules but I could also see there was some rationality that, while scummy, the person being tricked could change attack options and so I guess it can be their fault for certain situations such as picking up loot or getting tricked into a "box" with a skull-tricker in a clan. That doesn't apply here. This is just scamming. They were looking to fight you with a set of regulations in place and you took advantage of it. Massive dislike on this one. I'm sure I'll get flamed but seriously, this is just scamming.

Yeah, this particular skulltrick should be bannable 100%. I mean if trade scams, where someone would withdraw item or change it for something else (i.e. changing veracs skirt for iron plateskirt) are a bannable offense, then how can this not be bannable? With trading scams you have to click through 2 interfaces without checking the actual trade to get scammed. With this skulltrick its very hard to notice, even if you do pay attention. Like whos gonna be checking the difference between l and I during a fight?
