Young men like him grow up and become men like me who remember all the ways that my country has let us down. He’s right this isn’t an emerging crisis, this is our American character on display.
It is. Racism gives you that same feeling, at a much younger age even. The point is that realising you do not matter, and your life does not matter to those who pay lip service to the sanctity of life, and the importance of country and law and order, creates a crisis of self. The only things that can come from that are becoming an activist, or abandoning ship. There are plenty of other countries where children are not routinely murdered at school, nor people at church, at synagogue, at mosque, while running a race, or while just shopping for bread. He is correct: I would rather live in one of those.

I'm a Black expat now living in Germany. To be honest, I feel safer here than I ever did in the US. Not to say there are no racist here, they are - they just don't have guns. So, if they have a problem with me they actually have to confront me face-to-face - which most of the time racist are too scared to do.
Good for you. And completely agree, all countries will have few racists here and there, but in normal counties, you just get a thick skin, ignore them and move on. Or confront them if you can be bothered, keeping in mind that you'll never change a racists mind so it's often not worth wasting your energy on such fools. Whatever works for you. Either way, all is good, and overall I found Germany to be a nice and safe place to live. Sadly, America is the exception: racists have guns, many of them have badges and egos to balance their insecurities, and if you ignore them or don't show the right respect, it can end very badly for you.
@@ed-te1fp a racist is gonna ‘believe’ just as a QAnon supporter. I can’t and don’t care about changing them. You can hate me all you want, great, I take pride in that actually but typically you can’t do much to physically hurt or intimidate me unless you have a gun.
He made a *VERY* valid point .... they didn’t care when a six year old was shot to death so why should they care when a teenager, grownup, or elder gets gunned down 😡
I actually thought that Newtown was going to be the turning point. Those kids were so young and defenseless. Then I thought the Parkland kids would make it happen because they were full of vigor and could inspire their peers. Unfortunately, the NRA's hold runs deep.
Bieassia Law: Those who oppose gun control simply accept 40,000 dead every year as part of modern American culture. These are the same people who accept 550,000 people dead in a bit over one year from COVID. These are the people who could have long ago insisted on cars that would not allow themselves to crash into anything (promised by the year 2000 at the 1965-1966 NY World's Fair I attended) but who instead resisted airbags and wearing seatbelts, and now won't wear masks. The next thing you know, they will ask why we need research into cancer, heart disease and all the other killers of human beings. More and more I have been hearing such people described as nihilists, people who believe in nothing and are dedicated to destruction. Whether or not they say that directly, that is the way they are acting. Nothing matters in the long run to them. The worst thing is that they have a leader in the former president who wants all of us to be like that, so that he can finally feel his life of nothingness is validated, as everyone emulates him. Unfortunately, he's a skilled performer and con man, and thus attracts followers, just like snake oil salesmen used to.
Have been living abroad already for several years and I miss home desperately but each time I hear about these mass shootings, that feeling of longing goes away. I’m glad to be raising my kids elsewhere.
25 years ago a madman entered a school in Dunblane and murdered 16 year ones and their teacher. What did the UK do? Defend the right to bear arms or bring in changes that has resulted in less mass shootings in that time than in the last week in America. But, then again, we don't have politicians propagating the kind of paranoia that American politicians do. If paranoia is a form of mental illness then it is not just the gunman who is mentally ill, the whole of America is.
That would be an epidemic! But semantics aside, I agree whole-heartedly. My heart does out to the survivors and I have nothing but disgust for those who get off on denying that we have a problem.
@Jeffrey Cheng The Second Amendment to the US Constitution gives the right to keep arms in a "well-regulated militia". It doesn't give right to freely murder citizens, or to carry weapons of mass destruction, which were unknown in 1791. Children should absolutely feel safe in any school and empty slogans aren't helpful.
I wouldn't raise kids here, either. If someone handed me some kids tomorrow, I'd take them somewhere with better prospects, healthcare, and less kindergarten mass shootings on record.
Ireland. Beautiful and low crime. I remember I went there on vacation and the worst crime I saw on the news in a whole week was just a dude with multiple DUI’s.
@@matthewmorel3758 ?? So you believe that everybody, even psychopaths should be able to own guns? All that is asked is the bare minimum, gun control is the bare minimum. Nobody should want a freedom that takes other’s freedoms away.
We are all dying, are you ready to fall in a hole and call it good. Why do people keep reproducing for what because they believe their country is dying?
It's totally out of control. I've travelled the world but the US is a country I'll no longer revisit. Cousin booked trip for 2020 to take their children to a Disney resort and to travel the US. This was cancelled by Covid and they won't be rebooking. They're actually afraid of what could happen there. That's sooo sad.
I went to a school with a mass shooting event and I was not scared by it. I shoot guns myself still and I am not for any firearm bans , it happened and some people move on and others can't get past certain events, some people are tramatized by a car accident, some by a house fie and some people just can't deal with life, so the fact I went thru a mass event and see we have a mental health issue in america and it is not a gun problem is my biggest worry, what we do know is if someone is going to murder another and they are driving a car then they will run a person over, if someone is behind someone who sets them off in a card game he might stab the person till dead thru the heart over a bad hand, so whatever is close by and easy to use is always the weapon of choice not a gun , I think hammers and blunt objects were responsible for about as many deaths per year as guns so are we banning hammers and all objects, so murders will continue for as long as people are on earth and it will never be stopped even if all guns were gone

Honestly, I don’t blame him for wanting to raise his kids elsewhere. After every mass shooting, the realization really sinks in that compared to other developed countries, the U.S. is a legitimately dangerous country.
The US actively traumatises its children with active shooter drills and bullet proof backpacks. No other country needs to do this. The level of tolerance for people who like guns over children’s mental and physical well-being is completely ridiculous.

There is no point in have nonsensical conversation with the Right. As they are content will mass slaughter. Elections have consequences, thank God.
@RUclips Censors Free Speech Would you call our brave veterans “drama queens” for having lifelong PTSD? Would you call them “snowflakes” because they are still grieving from their trauma? Probably not. It’s the same exact concept with this young man. I am not sure why you are having such a hard time understanding this. And if you think surviving a mass school shooting, and then having the courage to talk about gun control on the news for millions to see, makes someone a “snowflake”, “drama queen”, a half human that doesn’t “stand up for something” or whatever the heck you said... then the real issue is you. Your love for guns clearly clouds your judgement. I think it’s time for you to do some self-introspection...

Their original plan was to stay in the USA for good but his wife didn't want to raise her kids in the USA and insisted to go back to the Philippines after witnessing how American kids behaved. It was a total shock to her how disrespectful and uncultured majority of American kids were. Long story short they have a great life now. They own a little 6 acre farm in the countryside with a huge 2 story concrete house that they had built from ground up. They also have a Condominium in the city of Manila. I was suppose to visit summer last year but it was postponed due to the pandemic. I will go visit as soon as the pandemic is over and the quarantine is lifted. I am so excited.😄
I’m making sure to vote every 2 years from now on. I’m not conservative but I don’t discriminate good conservative people for their views, even if they are different from mine, by most republican politicians are money and power hungry corrupt which is obviously horrible, so they aren’t and will never get my vote. I’m not trying to make it into a party thing, I just want to help good people to keep on rising into politics and they have been and hopefully sooner than later we’ll have positive improvements happening in different areas cause man, if not, this country will keep sinking and dying. So vote people, always, every 2 years... that’s the very least we can do 🙏
I have American friends living here in Norway, and they said that it feels like the US went through a portal to a crazy alternate reality and they stayed put in the "real" world.
I am trying to convince my boyfriend to come with me to another country, but I don't know where. Can you tell me what Norway is like, regarding private citizens? “People think we’re trying to take away our guns, we’re not, we’re just trying to make sure that only the right people have access to that kind of power, and way too many people have that access right now...” Can’t agree more. The citizens still need guns to protect themselves against corruption but something has to happen to keep people from “purchasing guns in 5 minutes with a fake ID”. We need to make sure that guns are more difficult to fall into bad hands.

Good for you. And completely agree, all countries will have few racists here and there, but in normal counties, you just get a thick skin, ignore them and move on. I went to a school with a mass shooting event and I was not scared by it. I shoot guns myself still and I am not for any firearm bans ,
it happened and some people move on and others can't get past certain events, some people are tramatized by a car accident, some by a house fie and some people just can't deal with life, so the fact I went thru a mass event and see we have a mental health issue in america and it is not a gun problem is my biggest worry, what we do know is if someone is going to murder another and they are driving a car then they will run a person over, if someone is behind someone who sets them off in a card game he might stab the person till dead thru the heart over a bad hand, so whatever is close by and easy to use is always the weapon of choice not a gun , I think hammers and blunt objects were responsible for about as many deaths per year as guns so are we banning hammers and all objects, so murders will continue for as long as people are on earth and it will never be stopped even if all guns were gone

Everyone deals with trauma differently. You have no idea what the severity of is trauma is, but you choose to mock him. What’s safe to say is, it would be normal for anyone that witnesses such a thing to suffer from a high level of PTSD (being a drama queen as you put it). Conversations such as this is why it has become increasingly obvious that Biden needs to quite engaging/talking and enact sweeping gun reform.

I never thought I'd get over that one, then in 2012 in Aurora at a movie theater right down the street from me, James Holmes shot and killed 12 people, now this one. This was all done with assault weapons. In some defense of Walmart, they quit selling assault weapons in 2015 and in 2018 they changed the age for regular weapons and ammunition from 18 to 21, in 2020 they quit putting the guns and ammo in the display cases because of "civil unrest." Sam nailed it when he said, "It's not a global issue; it's an American issue. It's money driven." My heart breaks every time this happens and I'm only a concerned neighbour on the north border. I have so many ties to the US, and can hop over the border in 5 minutes, but sadly, all of that has changed for so many reasons~ the border closure being the lesser.
You don't ever get over it. You just live with it. And you live knowing that it's not getting any better.
The country with a gun problem says it doesn't have a gun problem.
I hope he finds peace. He still carries allot of pain. Any country would be lucky to have him.
That poor lad. I can't even begin to fathom what it must feel like to send your children to school and have, in the back of your mind, the dreadful thought that you might not see them alive again 😔
Please, lady. The chance of that happening to your kid is a statistical null.
@@baseballfanatixx1 It shouldn't be on the statistic. Period. I grew up in a country in Africa. We've never had a school shooting before.
@@baseballfanatixx1 And yet it keeps happening. Like, 3 years ago, I saw an interview of some kids after they survived a mass shooting and one girl was like, "we weren't all that surprised". That means it happens enough that kids are genuinely expecting it now.
I’m 29, from the UK. Growing up I’d always wanted to visit America. I just can’t see myself ever going there now. In my lifetime things have just got worse and worse over there. I’m not looking to get shot on holiday just because of wrong place wrong time. Add on to that my skin colour and it’s a definite no from me.
Getting ready to retire in Mexico soon and everyone always says ohh it"s so dangerous there, I reply and what you think it is so safe here in the USA. Please people wake up and realize saying we are the greatest isn't the reality, this country is collapsing all around us, and like all empires refuses to see it coming.
I live in Scotland last year in my town we had two American families come to live here because they didn’t feel safe or looked after in America and we welcome them
Hi beautiful!
@All-American Glasgow is probably the best place to go to if you want to find people who are also part of a Minority if you are interested in connecting with people that are also from a similar background , however pretty much anywhere you go you will be welcomed ! It’s just Glasgow is the most diverse city xxx and it depends on a lot of things in terms of what visa you can apply for, google it and have a look there’s lots of different visas you can apply for depending on your current situationxxx
Thank you for your gracious welcome, and for denying DJT and his family entry to your nation, despite his being a landowner there. Do you have something like eminent domain there so your government could take DJT's land back so he would have no claim to a right to go there? It would be worth paying him market rates for the property - you could settle US refugees there and charge them modest rent to recover the investment over time.
@All-American if your serious about moving, maybe try an overseas student visa first? Although covid might be restrictive right now...
@@CAITLINDEANNA13 and if he can understand the accent! 😂😂
Thank you for speaking out, Sam! Speak just like this loud and strong every time, until there is change, for the better.
My wife and I decided to not have children because we don't want to place them in a world like America. So I totally get it.
More room for my kids
@@lauramorgan27 Hey best wishes for you :)
I want absolute proof of what he said about being able to buy an AR in 5 min. with an expired ID. Just saying you read something doesn't make it true or correct
The American public can just comment on the horrors of gun violence, but this man has to live with the experience of having gone through it. As a society and a nation, we must work together to alleviate the problems of gun violence that has afflicted the country.
You won't.
Sadly it wont likely be long before the majority of Americans have experienced what he and his classmates went through.
@@Evilidea Drills
The NRA is being dismantled but the demonic mentality of non-sports gun ownership is now ingrained.
Who in their right mind would raise a child in America? Who with the means wouldn't leave this dumpster fire.
I've been screaming at black people to flee America.
Their kids can walk down the street without being afraid of being executed by cops in Europe.
@@JoshSweetvale exactly
I urge those Americans that want freedom and less violence, move to UK or somewhere in Europe.
@@JoshSweetvale you delusional homie. Lol. Europe has racial prejudice there too. But I respect the sentiment.
@@poloboyl89 They don't execute teenaged black kids for walking around at night.
I'm childfree by choice but if I wanted children I definitely wouldn't raise them in America! I have felt this way for several years!!
Dude I can't even buy alcohol with an expired ID in this country. 🙃
Beautifully spoken, Sam Zeif. Please keep making your voice heard, but he should not be alone. We need to stand behind him and make this a country in which he would be proud to raise his children.
'No way to stop this from happening' says only country in the world where this routinely happens

It happens all over the world
@@Markus12350 Excuse me? Where? If there's a single incident in Europe (the only place that has an sort of shooting attack) it's huge news. I travel all over the world and no one even has guns.
@@carolmiller5713 umm excuse me! This common misconception has been proven untrue.Google it. Stop believing the news. According the the data from the crime prevention research center, America comes in 12th place, behind developed European countries like Norway, France, Finland, Belgium and Switzerland.
I remember columbine. I was watching it on TV as the news reported it. Ever since then, it seemed like another mass shooting was reported every day.
Its actually dominos effect, its inspired crazy people.
Our government/elected officials need to stop pretending our country isn’t in a state of perpetual crisis
He has that same look in his eyes I've seen dozens of times in war veterans, abused foster kids and long time prison convicts. One day he'll be 70 and still replay that day in his mind on a daily basis. Maybe the dead were luckier.
"our country is dying in a lot of ways" I completely feel what he is saying. I am looking for work in another country and I feel like a sitting duck in this country.
Check out vietnam, lots of good paying English teaching jobs and a very affordable living, safe society. Lots of expats, Danang is a clean beautiful beach city near great getaway places nice apartments start about $400/mo. Food is cheap people are friendly
Is already dead
I'm exploring expat job options now, too. I feel like a farm animal here. Limited options, stuck in place, surrounded by disease, milked for profit, watching my compatriots be slaughtered, and then one day, taken out back and dumped when I'm too old to be useful.

Sam millions of thanks for making appearance on CNBC. Grieving the loss of someone you loved, is like dying every day. Violent death leaves heartache which nothing can fill. I understand that death cannot take the love and memory of those who left here for no reason. How can anybody vote for those who refuse to protect innocent children, who take away health care of poor, who refuse to raise wages of working class. Sam please stay strong, love you with all my heart.
