  • @xdatauk
    @xdatauk 5 месяцев назад +2

    I don't make many comments tbh, but this certainly deserves a big "thank you". Watching dozens of similar issues like this I pulled the carb off and on to no avail many times, and the F****** thing still wouldn't run more than 5 sec. What struck me about this one is you saying just because the fine needle file or whatever you use goes through a jet or fuel flow opening doesn't mean it's completely clean. Also don't chase a carb that's beyond a normal clean buy a new one meaning they can really gum up badly
    With that in mind I really went to town making sure my fine drills ended up turning in the holes and not like before threading in and out, and then I finished reaming them with the drill bits like you showed. Low and behold she now purrs like a kitten and the the grass has had its first cut.
    BTW Take no notice of those having a pop at you about your camera work. Because if they can't suss what you are doing out of camera shot they shouldn't be attempting this and instead pay someone like you. :-)

    I was checking out what the price of these mowers had gone up to now and they are the price of what the 45cm SP454 models were about three years ago (well over £200 now). So if you can clean the carburettors out on these and replace the useless Torch plugs and avoid using standard E10 pump fuel these mowers should run many years.

    • @themowerman

      @Micks Mowers The Mower Man decent spev ride on mowers are at the £7,000 mark now but I hate to say it they are being replaced by robotic mowers due to the lazy tech generation. Being 31 and literally being brought up my life with petrol mowers and gardening equipment I am unsure of this new era of battery and technology. Even my love of cars has disappeared due to electrification of near enough everything.

    I've got a 2007 briggs and stratton 650 series 190cc that does something similar, but mine only cuts out once the engine gets hot after about 10 minutes. It starts once cooled down after a few minutes but then cuts out once again when hot. Any idea of the cause? Faulty ignition coil, worn piston rings perhaps? It's recently had a carb service so doubt its that. Any help or advice would be most appreciated.
