Thanks so much for this video. Our mower of 5 years and never missed a beat refused to start this morning. Same symptoms as this video and same engine. I cleaned the filter and the spark plug to no avail. I rang our friendly mower / small engine repair centre who told me that they are booked out for six weeks but he will give me $50 trade in on my mower for a new mower ..... I declined and came here. Two hours later the mower is running again. Thanks again.
I bought a used mower with this exact engine last year. Fired right up when I went to buy it. Brought it home and a week or two later it wouldn't start. I found this video and although I am not mechanically inclined, I've never taken any part of a lawn mower apart and was scared shitless, I followed your video step by step and low and behold it fired right up! Thanks! I even ran it dry this past November and it's been in the garage all winter. Put gas in it and again it won't start. Fortunately, I saved this video and I'm going to do this again and hopefully it takes care of the problem. Great video and I especially love the way you describe what you're doing and take your time showing all the steps.
This guy saved me from taking my mower to a shop or buying a new one. Mower would fire up for 5 seconds then stop.Followed all instructions, took off carburetor found water inside, cleaned jets and put it back together. Mower works like new. Never worked on a lawn mower in my life until today. Thank You!!!
I have to agree with others I watched this video once and went out and fixed my mower without having to go back and review the video. This is one of the most perfect videos on RUclips.
Out of all the videos I watched, this was the best one. After I turned the video off I didn't have to come back because I knew what to do. And now my lawnmower works again. Thank you so much for an EXCELLENT JOB explaining how to do this. 👍🏾👍🏾 Two Thumbs Up
one of the best informative videos i’ve seen. Bought a new mower last year, worked great. left it outside under a shed for the winter (learned lesson) and when i went to use it this year it’d crank first pull, but die a second later. i noticed i could keep it running if i continually pressed the prime bulb. I now know where it’s clogged and feel confident i’ll be mowing again tomorrow. thank you!

I was told humidy can effect mower, but I live where there is humidity. If a mower can't take humidity, I can't move to a dry area. I'm so sick of mowing 2/3 of my tiny back yard and it dies every time. I can never finish mowing it. I'm at the point I want to rip up the grass. I'm so over it
I was given a mower that didn't run, with the same problem this had. I believe the person who gave it to me used ethanol gas and that was why it never ran well even when new. Runs great now with non-ethanol fuel. This is an outstanding video because it was the identical application to what was needed.
I did what you showed step by step (except i did not have a gas hose clamp and made a mess) and mower started on third pull and now runs real well. Thank You
Excellent video. I fixed my mother’s mower following the steps shown in the video. The mower would run on the gas provided through the primer and would then just die. After cleaning out the carburetor, the mower now continues to run once started. Thanks!
Thank you very much. This was the exact engine model I was needing help with and the exact information i needed to repair my mower. Started right up and finished the lawn.
Thanks mate! This video basically helped me fix my Victa Ultra light lawn mower that a friend gave to me. It hadn't been turned on for 2 years and I spend all day trying to start it. It was starting then stalling. Ended up need to put a small wire and clean the carburettor and that actually fixed it. Thanks so much!

Thank you from Devon in the UK. Just sorted my sister's lawn mower after a couple of years of standing. Exactly the same block. My nephew isn't so happy as he's now mowing the lawn.
Once accidentally used ethanol, I thought I would seize the engine; luckily it didn't. Suffice to say I always use ethanol free petrol / gas. Thanks for the top shelf video. Cheers.

I’ve tried everything else under the sun on my mower, but the one thing I didn’t do was take a wire tie to the jet. If this doesn’t work I’m going to set the thing on fire and get a new one. I did not know the jet assembly came apart. Thanks for the demonstration. Wish me luck.

Following your simple steps has the lawn mower running for more than a minute at a time lol. I use high test in all my motorized products after problems with a whipper snipper one spring and the technician explained the ethanol troubles with storage.....never an issue since.
Excellent narration. You asked what gas and circumstances people would use in their small engines. I have always used Ethanol gas in them with no fuel system troubles. At the end of mowing season I empty gas from the tanks then run them until they die. I have had no trouble with this method. As an extra precaution I change engine oil while the machine is still hot. I don't want the old oil containing contaminates and gasses to sit in there all winter.
I got my yard cut, but, had a little problem, I noticed, I had to pump prime Buble, every time I restart, or it run real slow then die, checked gas cap, and reprimed it, then motter runs fine, I did most of all this maintenance, was easy to work on, carb. came off real easy. So I cleaned it all up, put it back together, and learned a lot more on the motor, I was fixing to dump a bran new mower lol, but now I might put a harber freight engine on it, cause it be a stronger mower, idk yet, it cut the yard, and did great, thanks for video, this grass catcher on the murry, does a good job, better than my husky Varna lol, grass comes out the sides, and top,but not on the murry. I picked up a mower yesterday with the same story… ran last year, put up for the winter and then wouldn’t stay cranked. There are some slight variations that exist with this type of carburetor. Mine had two brass jets on the bottom; the one with the o-ring around it was the culprit and I thought I would never get it cleared. Even my 26 AWG wire wouldn’t go through the jet. I finally blew it out with my air hose (air compressor was NOT fully charged). Also, where your example had white ring and the black O-ring, ours has only a red O-ring. I called a local shop looking for the white ring and he said if mine had the red O-ring, that was all that was required. I got all the ethanol fuel out of the tank and replaced it with ethanol-free. I reassembled it all and primed it 10 pumps. The mower fired right up and mowed my front lawn.
Put stable in it near end of season also did same with motorcycle never any issues as the stable also goes through carb. I have also at times sprayed carb and choke cleaner into tank during use. Thank you so much!!!!! I had pulled off the carb but didn’t know about the valves sure enough one was clogged thanks works great now. Bought a yard works/ Biggs Stratton mower last year not even one year old😢
THANK FOR Such CLEAR AND CONCISE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO with no obnoxious music in background, it really makes big DIFFERENCE, and i will keep this video for further REFERENCE, I too am also curious if car gas with corn ingredients clogs it because this first time trying to use the lawnmower after my son moved out. what is best product to clean with , A purchased degreaser or will ordinary kitchen dish soap like DAWN OR AJAX WORK JUST AS WELL? THANKS AGAIN FOR GREAT HOW CLEAN YOUR CARB ON LAWNMOWER VIDEO, TOO BAD YOU DONT HOW REPAIR WASHING MACHINEs SINCE MY SON DAMAGED IT FROM OVERLOADING TOO MUCH IT MAKES OFF BALANCE KNOCKING OR CLANGING SOUND WHEN RUNS THANKS AGAIN MRS JR BRYAN
I use the local ethanol regular gasoline (Shell) and as long as I run my similar mower every 2 weeks or so, no problem. Mid-Atlantic region. Maybe your locale has a lot higher humidity than mine. BTW, I found it a good idea to lube the rubber “O” rings on that white plastic jet holder with a thin smear of vaseline and also the cup that it slides into. One time I had the “O” rings roll up and then lift the jet holder out of its cup while or after I assembled it. Engine ran very rich because gasoline was bypassing the jet holder. Fixed it with the vaseline. Thanks for your clear video.
If you're going to go through the trouble to take the carb off, why not clean everything with carb cleaner. There were dirt particles everywhere, even in the carb. The gas tank should have been blown out with compressed air to make sure there wasn't water in the tank, since you found some in the carb. I'm a stickler for things to be clean after I finish working on them.
Thanks for a really nicely pitched video, I followed it and was feeling chuffed with myself until it didn't even turn over. What can I try next please?
I use ethanol free gas in both vehicles and all lawn equipment. My Honda mowers I shut the gas off and let them run dry after each use. On my two stroke engines I use Red Armor pre mix 50:1. I also subscribed I’ve been getting a few of your videos in my feed.
Thank you for this video! I have a Murray purchased new last year (looks very similar except there is no prime) and it ran well for a while today, the first time firing it up this year. I got 2 tanks through it fine. Then all of a sudden it started acting funny, getting weaker, then would only start and run for a second before cutting out. It still had 1/4 tank or so... but I refilled the tank and it started running again for a couple of minutes, then started cutting out and again will only run for a second... I used old gas leftover from last year... so likely it's water bubble. We will see tomorrow!
Once again, cleaning the jet worked. You just like pressing primer bulbs. I use non-ethanol premium with fuel stabilizer for the mower. Never had a problem keeping it running.
I use ethanol gas which i get from our mower service dealer here in the UK, he told me that i don't need to run the mower out for winter storage, my mower is 20 years old time for a new one as its now playing up
I only use non-ethanol gas stabilized with Pri-G in all of my small engines including my zero turn. All of my machines have never seen ethanol unless I acquired them from someone else in which case they probably didn’t work in the first place. I also try to start all of my machines at least once a month year round and run for 10 minutes.
Did anyone realize that he clamped the gasoline hose going from the gas tank to the carburetor and removed the wrong end of the hose and whatever little gasoline was there leaked out? :) After clamping the hose you release the hose at the carburetor end and not the gas tank end. No worries. Good job on the video!
This video did it for me. Lawn mower wouldn’t turn on at all at first. I would add starter fluid to carb and start and die right away. Same little hole was plugged for me. Used a pick and cleared it. Started right up after.
That little white part that slides in does that connect to anything. It’s around the 7:02 mark. I did everything correct but when I tried to start my mower again gas started spraying when I started priming it.
Thank you very much for this video. My main problem was referring back to my I Pad with petrol (gas) on my hands. I was puzzled when the little white thing came off but I managed to reattach it. Thanks again
I have a old lawn devil mower. It's doing this. It will start but die right away. I drained the gas and took the carburetor off. It needs a new gasket. I'm going to buy a gasket and clean the carburetor and hope for the best. I just bought a brand new mower so I have plenty of time to figure it out. If I fail I fail. It's just a learning experience.
Dealing with this issue with my fathers lawn mower. I replaced the air filter and spark plug. I recently took the carburetor off and cleaned it. It ran for 20 minutes and started stalling again.
Can i get the name of this mower? I have the same one best one ive ever had ( easy to modify it and make it work better) but my blade bolt snapped inside of the mower and now need to buy a new one and can't find it anywhere.
I think you'll need the model and serial number for this mower to help get the right parts. This video is from years ago and the mower has since been returned to the owner.
I have used ethanol gas in all my mowers, my weed eater and my pressure washer. When I put them up for the winter, I let them run until they run completely dry and have never had a problem starting them in the spring.
I always winterize my mower. One spring it would run for a bit, then stop. Found out that some grass bits, that had gotten into the tank, moved into the carb float bowl. Too big to go through the jet but large enough to block it. Drained the bowl, cleaned it and it fired right up.
Great video. Not cleaning the areas around the carb that you are working on is not good. I've seen this on a few of your videos. Using ethanol free gas is a must and always use fresh gas as part of your repair! Good job!!!
I used to run ethanol gas until I got a gut full of vapor-locking and then switched to non-ethanol and have been there ever since. Everything just runs better and I never have any trouble starting at the beginning of the season even though I do NOT use any kind of stabiliser. I never drain a tank unless whatever it is is going to be down for a long time as in a year or two. But all my stuff is old and is a lot more forgiving than newer stuff. Good fix and I'm going to take the primer back off the electric start and lay the compressor to it and also charge the battery with a GOOD charger instead of the wannabe things that comes with it. Thanks and Blessings!
My mower would not start after being stored . It used to start 1st pull . I cleaned the fuel tank , added new fuel and I cleaned the carb and still no go . I fitted a brand new carb and air filter . It will start and run without the air filter but as soon as I fit the new air filter the engine stops .. Foam air filter was dry with no oil on it . must be something I over looked ..
I use ethanol free gas in 2 cycle with synthetic 2 cycle oil. But in a lawnmower I will used 10% max ethanol but use ethanol stabilizer all year round. And run it dry in off season.
Followed your instructions to the tee. Very good instructions by the way. Practically new lawn mower. Bought a zero turn and mower set up after about 5 uses. Did everything you said including bought new spark plug and filter still doing the same thing... really disappointed.
Nice work. It almost looks like when you unclog that jet a little piece of something falls out. You can actually see it hit the bench faintly in the background. Keep up the great work.
I have oil coming thru the carburetor, is this from to much oil n the motor ? And then the rubber part that comes from the motor to the carburetor is broken, how do you replace it ?
What these and all mowers need are 1, non ethanol gasoline aka "recreational" gas and 2, an inline fuel filter added. This would cure most of the problems small engines encounter fuel wise. People that don't know any better keep us in business though.
i never had any problems with running gasoline ethanol fuel in any of my lawn equipment, its probably because i drain or run it out of the fuel before winter storage along with using stabilized fuel. but trust me i get lazy or i forget sometimes to drain but i still never had issues.
I enjoyed your video. My mower will run for 5 min and then shut down. I tried to run with out the gas cap to see if it was causing a vacuum, but it would still run for 4 or so min and then just cut out. ( that is on a cold start). your Have any ideas what could be going on? I did pull the bottom of the carburetor and it was clean, and ran a wire in the jet. Thank You
sure thing, The need seat could be swollen which is not allowing the fuel bowl to be replenished with gasoline from the tank. The engine is just running on the fuel in the bowl before it gets low enough to stop it. I'd replace carb because it's easier than servicing the carb. Otherwise your ignition coil could be going bad too.
A lot of problems are carburetor related, seems like but definitely always use regular gas, but make sure you ✔️ it out bc a station down the road from here had a couple of people complain,Sue& win against the station because the gas had water 💦 in it/from the pumps!! Ok, thanks for your very helpful video I love my Toro/Briggs and Stratton
Same problem for me. 2 carbs later no go. Thanks to RUclips finally checked the spark plug. How the gap closed over .010" I have no idea. Maybe it had something to do with whomever peed in the gas tank. Runs fine now.
mine did this today but when i tipped the mower back wards me would keep running till set it down, so i adjusted the front wheels 1 notch higher and now it runs like normal ( i did clean the carb out at beginning of the summer just to clarify ) and im guessing there was a blockage or too much fuel in the fuel line going to the carb casing it to flood and stall out .. i guess i just needed to level out the mower so the gas could flow evenly ?

THANK FOR Such CLEAR AND CONCISE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO with no obnoxious music in background, it really makes big DIFFERENCE, and i will keep this video for further REFERENCE, I too am also curious if car gas with corn ingredients clogs it because this first time trying to use the lawnmower after my son moved out.
what is best product to clean with , A purchased degreaser or will ordinary kitchen dish soap like DAWN OR AJAX WORK JUST AS WELL? THANKS AGAIN FOR GREAT HOW CLEAN YOUR CARB ON LAWNMOWER VIDEO,
TOO BAD YOU DONT HOW REPAIR WASHING MACHINEs SINCE MY SON DAMAGED IT FROM OVERLOADING TOO MUCH IT MAKES OFF BALANCE KNOCKING OR CLANGING SOUND WHEN RUNS
THANKS AGAIN
MRS JR BRYAN
thank you and no problem
Thanks for your clear video.
thanks , and nice advice, I'll have to use it too, thank you Dog Man.
What is the jet holder?
If you're going to go through the trouble to take the carb off, why not clean everything with carb cleaner. There were dirt particles everywhere, even in the carb. The gas tank should have been blown out with compressed air to make sure there wasn't water in the tank, since you found some in the carb. I'm a stickler for things to be clean after I finish working on them.
i agree .....it looks better and shows pride in workmanship
Thanks for a really nicely pitched video, I followed it and was feeling chuffed with myself until it didn't even turn over. What can I try next please?
I see, sorry to hear it didn't start for you. I would consider replacing the carb. These are very inexpensive.
I use ethanol free gas in both vehicles and all lawn equipment. My Honda mowers I shut the gas off and let them run dry after each use. On my two stroke engines I use Red Armor pre mix 50:1. I also subscribed I’ve been getting a few of your videos in my feed.
thank you and you're doing it right!
Thanks, for that video look at your video yesterday, perform the task today and it runs like a champ.👍
Great to hear!
Thanks, good look at the back of the carb and how rubber and plastic o rings go in the back of carb to intake.
thank you Carl Hardy
Thank you for this video! I have a Murray purchased new last year (looks very similar except there is no prime) and it ran well for a while today, the first time firing it up this year. I got 2 tanks through it fine. Then all of a sudden it started acting funny, getting weaker, then would only start and run for a second before cutting out. It still had 1/4 tank or so... but I refilled the tank and it started running again for a couple of minutes, then started cutting out and again will only run for a second... I used old gas leftover from last year... so likely it's water bubble. We will see tomorrow!
no problem and good luck with it
Thank you! It was a water bubble. Once i drained the carburetor bowl and put fresh fuel in it, she ran like a dream
Once again, cleaning the jet worked. You just like pressing primer bulbs. I use non-ethanol premium with fuel stabilizer for the mower. Never had a problem keeping it running.
It could be a fetish or OCD but primer bulbs are nice to push.
@@HomeGaragechannel That goes without saying. Tell you what, how about a cold start video when I get another mower?
Yes please
I use ethanol gas which i get from our mower service dealer here in the UK, he told me that i don't need to run the mower out for winter storage, my mower is 20 years old time for a new one as its now playing up
That makes sense
Very good education, good pictures and the right pace for us non-americans
Thank you Per Brunkwall.
Thank you so much for posting this. Turned out to be water and a plugged/slightly corroded jet in the carb. Mower works great now.😊
no problem
Just fixed my lawnmower yesterday following your steps. Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped
Excellent video. Saved me from needless buying a new mower.
Glad I could help
nice job.
all done with no arrogant attitude ...like the 90+ percent of instructional videos
thank you for your time
I only use non-ethanol gas stabilized with Pri-G in all of my small engines including my zero turn. All of my machines have never seen ethanol unless I acquired them from someone else in which case they probably didn’t work in the first place. I also try to start all of my machines at least once a month year round and run for 10 minutes.
that's pretty damn awesome. definitely on top of your maintenance and care.
It was to keep the gas in the carb so we can examine it for water, which there was some in it.
This video did it for me. Lawn mower wouldn’t turn on at all at first. I would add starter fluid to carb and start and die right away. Same little hole was plugged for me. Used a pick and cleared it. Started right up after.
I'm glad it worked for you.
Man I've been pulling on this thing for about an hour😅 watch your video fixed it in 30 minutes 💯🍻
nice work!
That little white part that slides in does that connect to anything. It’s around the 7:02 mark. I did everything correct but when I tried to start my mower again gas started spraying when I started priming it.
no that little white port does not connect to anything
@@HomeGaragechannel ok so what would be the reason for gas coming out when I prime it. I checked everything before I put it back together.
not sure, but that part should be a vent or breather. There should be nothing coming out of there. If your carb flooding?
@@HomeGaragechannel I’ll check it again tomorrow. It should be a basic fix.
Thank you very much for this video. My main problem was referring back to my I Pad with petrol (gas) on my hands. I was puzzled when the little white thing came off but I managed to reattach it. Thanks again
no problem and I appreciate it
I have a old lawn devil mower. It's doing this. It will start but die right away. I drained the gas and took the carburetor off. It needs a new gasket. I'm going to buy a gasket and clean the carburetor and hope for the best. I just bought a brand new mower so I have plenty of time to figure it out. If I fail I fail. It's just a learning experience.
hopefully you get it working.
@@HomeGaragechannel I hope so. It was a very reliable mower up until it died. I thought it would run forever with no issue.
Just fixed my mower thanks to this video. Thank you
Glad I could help
Dealing with this issue with my fathers lawn mower. I replaced the air filter and spark plug. I recently took the carburetor off and cleaned it. It ran for 20 minutes and started stalling again.
I'd take the carb back off, for a second round of cleaning.
When I put them up for the winter, I let them run until they run completely dry and have never had a problem starting them in the spring.
that's the best way to do it.
I always winterize my mower. One spring it would run for a bit, then stop. Found out that some grass bits, that had gotten into the tank, moved into the carb float bowl. Too big to go through the jet but large enough to block it. Drained the bowl, cleaned it and it fired right up.
hey nice work
Great video. Not cleaning the areas around the carb that you are working on is not good. I've seen this on a few of your videos. Using ethanol free gas is a must and always use fresh gas as part of your repair! Good job!!!
Thank you for the comment I appreciate it
I was thinking the same thing.
Thanks and Blessings!
if it works for you, I would keep doing it your way! Thank you Lewie McNeely
@@HomeGaragechannel U 2!
I've never heard of that happening before
Nearest 100% gas station is 45 miles. It’s more economical using the ethanol gas locally
Thanks you really helped me. It's working now. Took a good number of pulls(25) after draining the old gas and replacing the spark plug
glad it worked out in the end
Thanks for the tutorial video. That's exactly what my mower is doing now. I'll clean the carb tomorrow. Thanks.
no problem.
Thank you for the video, I was able to fix my 7 year old mower within an hour with this.
Excellent and you did a great job, fixing too. thank you Gary E.
I use ethanol free gas in 2 cycle with synthetic 2 cycle oil. But in a lawnmower I will used 10% max ethanol but use ethanol stabilizer all year round. And run it dry in off season.
Excellent method
Followed this video today and it worked! Now to keep it from happening again is worrysom. Thanks!!!
Glad it helped
Followed your instructions to the tee. Very good instructions by the way. Practically new lawn mower. Bought a zero turn and mower set up after about 5 uses. Did everything you said including bought new spark plug and filter still doing the same thing... really disappointed.
gotcha, if that happens to me, I'd just replace the carb.
Nice work. It almost looks like when you unclog that jet a little piece of something falls out. You can actually see it hit the bench faintly in the background. Keep up the great work.
wow now I'm going to have to watch it again
I love Star Trek. Thanks for the comment.
Very helpful video. Just got my lawnmower running. Thanks
no problem and thank you Shane Jones
I have oil coming thru the carburetor, is this from to much oil n the motor ? And then the rubber part that comes from the motor to the carburetor is broken, how do you replace it ?
Most typically yes, there might be too much oil in the engine. I've never replace that rubber part so I'm not sure.
@@HomeGaragechannel 🤦♂️
Thank you for posting! Last yr I had the same thing and paid to get fixed. This time around I was able to resolve thanks to you!
You're welcome!
Awesome clear concise details, fixed my mower first go - you’re a legend👍
thank you very much, you're too kind
One of the best videos done on the channel. Real examples.
Appreciate that
Thanks for posting this. It’s really well filmed and explained. I found this video very helpful. Thanks again *(from the UK!)
no problem and thank you gudgengrebe
i know it's quite randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Joshua Zachary flixportal :D
@Kamden Abel Thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!!
@Joshua Zachary you are welcome =)
Narratiion was on point. Great info and visualization. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
I would run 100% gas. Having to run all the different equipment dry each time is counter productive.
agreed but lots of places don't have 100% gasoline
Looks like you'll be busy all summer with these modern Briggs plastic carbs.
looks like they're going to be the main content on this channel now.
I use ethanol fuel during the spring and summer and then run it dry. I then throw a quart of ethanol free trufuel in and restart and then store.
Excellent you'll never have a carb problem.
Hey great video.I run all high test gas in all my lawn equipment.Low test ethanol gas goes bad much quicker. Thx for video
Great point!
Great video that's that's teaching so many push mowers are thrown away every summer because of little things water in the gas
Great point!
What these and all mowers need are 1, non ethanol gasoline aka "recreational" gas and 2, an inline fuel filter added. This would cure most of the problems small engines encounter fuel wise. People that don't know any better keep us in business though.
Excellent answer. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it
@@HomeGaragechannel keep up the videos. You can clean a million carbs and I'd watch em all.
@@davestout844 lol.. thanks I appreciate your support.
i never had any problems with running gasoline ethanol fuel in any of my lawn equipment, its probably because i drain or run it out of the fuel before winter storage along with using stabilized fuel. but trust me i get lazy or i forget sometimes to drain but i still never had issues.
yes you're doing the correct procedure, even if you were using 100% gasoline. thank you j r.
Very good video. Was trying to avoid taking a carb off my tiller but I’ll try. We only use ethanol free fuel in everything we own. Thanks!
no problem and good luck
A lot of problems are carburetor related, seems like but definitely always use regular gas, but make sure you ✔️ it out bc a station down the road from here had a couple of people complain,Sue& win against the station because the gas had water 💦 in it/from the pumps!! Ok, thanks for your very helpful video I love my Toro/Briggs and Stratton
very good advice
Great fix 👍 I use ethanol free fuel in all my equipment year round.
Excellent thanks for the comment

@@HomeGaragechannel 👍
Great video!!! Have you done a video on how to fix a leak in carb? I have a leak where it deeps down my float bowl. thanks!
not directly as all my videos typically go from start to finish. You'll have to replace the needle seat, and bowl gasket on yours.
Same problem for me. 2 carbs later no go. Thanks to RUclips finally checked the spark plug. How the gap closed over .010" I have no idea. Maybe it had something to do with whomever peed in the gas tank. Runs fine now.
Nice work
mine did this today but when i tipped the mower back wards me would keep running till set it down, so i adjusted the front wheels 1 notch higher and now it runs like normal ( i did clean the carb out at beginning of the summer just to clarify ) and im guessing there was a blockage or too much fuel in the fuel line going to the carb casing it to flood and stall out .. i guess i just needed to level out the mower so the gas could flow evenly ?
I've never heard of such a situation before
