    This is what many players are not aware of: just because you reached 3k, 3.4k whatever score, doesn't mean you can be toxic. Being humble is a sign of great people. Most of the players I met with 3k+ score with bad attitude were actually really bad. They just grinded the keys and crawled to higher score on the back of other players. Since you can't lose score, eventually you can reach a pretty high score but that does not mean you are a good player.

    Great video, I think the knowing how to prioritise damage is a big thing. I know you covered it more in-depth in another video a few weeks but a big tip that I feel you only glossed over in that video as a side point is being able to ignore certain mobs in Details.
    I saw you could do that and instantly went and did it and also told my group to do the same thing and WOW, it made a big difference in our times (keys 23-24's) and when I see someone prio dmg a mob instead of go for overall dps, I instantly know they are going to perform well. I main a healer and it helps me so much when the big, scary mobs are focused down so I really notice it.
    I wish you would talk even more about that (how to do it, what mobs should be ignored, what classes it's important for), because I guarantee more than 80-90%+ of people in the comments here have not done it even after watching that more in-depth video.
    No longer does my group waste globals padding on time wasting mobs and even if I am behind on overall with a PUG key (when I dps), I know the reality that my details is showing the real contribution.

      I just wanted to add that I know you and everyone else talks about prio dmg being so important all the time. I heard it but by the time you get in to the dungeon you forget it, blocking mobs on Details really allowed me to see it in the dungeon.

      I personally don't have details open during combat, it only shows after the run is over, or after a wipe (might wanna check what happened on a wipe if it's not obvious at a first glance).
      I think there is no reason to have it open during combat other than boosting our own ego.
      I think it only serve as a distraction and takes away focus from what is actually important, which of course is paying attention to what is happening with the mobs. :)

    Used to play M+ back in legion and the highest level (MDI). I agree with your points, as a tank myself, aside from proper cooldown useage, is understanding your groups damage/healing capabilites at a specific time. Also, a sign of a good tank is their intuition for incoming damage and their reaction to it, especially as a blood dk where you play reactivly.

    imo people who are toxic to others have already capped in terms of skill level. The question is no longer how can I get better, but what is everyone else doing wrong that's effecting the outcome. While yes other people performing poorly can and will effect the outcome of a key, you can't control that. You can only focus on yourself

    I think the most important stuff is just COMMON SENSE. You have to know, whats happening around you, and proactively reacting to mechanics etc. Obviously this needs teamplayer mentality, knowing all mechanics and reaction time etc. I met so many player even around 28 keys they just stand still and pumping, but when it comes to a mechanic for example a soak, and its only you and healer who can soak, but a big heal check is incoming too, you have to realize you must be soaking that as a dps..just common sense.

      wdym you can't train ur awareness? you can't be aware of something you've never seen before. if you know what can happen in a given situation, you will be able to react to it

      @ConnorGrummer 3 месяца назад

      What? Of course you can train your awareness. You can train your reactions even, though you may be gated somewhat by physical limitations I'm pretty sure nothing in WoW actually pushes your reactions to that limit, it pushes your ability to react and process info while also processing the twenty other things you need to be processing.

      Or, you know, any number of other ways you can die. Like getting high enough on keys where stuff starts to oneshot you. Like your group messing up so badly it's an inevitable wipe (like the CC affix or DPS on Galakrond last boss not breaking in time because a couple ppl died...).

      @jshauns 3 месяца назад +2

      @@Crisalpha yes, of course you die to things that kill you. I was speaking to the tanks should be in control of their own destiny, which is especially true as a BDK. My deaths often times, when all other things are going well, are because I failed to plan out my rotation.

      @sinbadsgood2916 3 месяца назад +1

      You haven't done a high enough key then as a blood dk. Theres some things you just get 1 shot rotation aside. Dk heals the damage, they dont mitigate it well, so we still take the damage and do a billion hps. You just get one shot on some 28s by a simple meele as blood no matter what you press.@@jshauns

    • @san1122222
      @san1122222 3 месяца назад +1

      There's a level of keys which can be completed with someone in group slacking and generally getting carried (I'd say up to 25-26), like healers that do 1k total damage while still doing mediocre healing, getting to 3k is easier than ever.
      It's after 25-27 when you're expected to carry your weight or whole group is going down very fast. Do understand that some people have very limited time and burning keys on people that got their rio carried is a luxury. I'd rather say it's exactly those that haven't mastered the game but try to play on level where they are expected to have, are the toxic ones.

      @@Kevumse ofc 🙃 but it helps a lot when nowadays people get very toxic if a fart goes off. One wipe and gg, they leave the key. So I made my mission to never use my key in pugs for this reason. Then I can experiment pulls, and builds 😅
      for example… “can I pull the patrol + the three casters in TotT?” 🤔 nobody interrupts them, they kill the group… wipe. People leave (as always)…
      go again, new key… maybe I need to hide… the others don’t hide… wipe. People leave. Oooookay…
      let’s do it again, new key, same level…. This time i write in chat to hide for all the idiots who can’t tell why the tank goes behind the pillar… pull… we made it! Yay 🥳 hop to next pull…

I try to ignore rio and give people a chance. Quite often, people actually play better, be it because they are focusing more or simply they havent had the access to push due to the elitism in high rio keys.

  • @dannyd806
    @dannyd806 3 месяца назад +1

    This being my first season where I actually earned a respectable rating (2825) as a tank. I can confirm that those high end players aren’t as toxic as I thought. Being able to join with some 3200io players for the first time, they all seemed nice! It was a treat to run with players who are actually good and understand the dungeons.
    For those who stray away from M+ because of it being “toxic”, it’s likely because they themselves suck. They don’t put in the work to learn the routes/dungeons and just do low keys thus get flamed for making mistakes. So ultimately their view of M+ is not accurate. The GM in my guild won’t run keys unless it’s all guild, she’s terrified to get flamed. Rightfully so when her dps is lower than the tanks and dies to avoidable things. She just doesn’t put in the effort, relies on raid to get carried for gear and it drives me nuts.

    I disagree... I believe toxicity has its role in life. (PUGS) If you are in a +25 or above and one of dps has not been pressing any def cd for the whole 25-30 min... I believe I have to right to be f annoyed and even say smth about it... no matter if the key is depleted or not. Like you are wasting 5 ppl's time.
    Ofc mistakes can happen and depletes as well which if fine if you depleted by couple of minutes or it was just unlucky... but at a certain level you expect people to do defaults which means meeting the throughput boundaries and using all their class buttons. Im main paladin and Ive seen countless of people in every season not using their Sac at all in 30 min and most of times that Sac wouldve either make the tank not die and wipe the group or even time the key cuz you unstress your healer.

    So an good m+ player is the one that doesn't mind people fucking up on keys but the toxic pieces of shits that are also good m+ players are not as good because they don't have that much time to waste on babysitting people that are not prepared for the keys. 4k rating persons logic at its finest.
