Can we get a video discribing which classes is under which categories ? like is Shadowpriest a pace setter or a wizard ? and where is boomkin ? that would be very great.
The first line of the video made me lol. We all have been playing WoW for an embarrassing amount of time 😂
I quit 3 years ago after 14 years man it’s crazy to think about I grew up on wow
Anything more than 6 months is already embarrassing
😂Proud player of almost 18 years right here! Straight up, I love wow and it's my stress relief from the real world
One of the best videos you guys have put out, not only good for beginners but a nice refresher for everyone on how to best approach the game.
best way to approach this game is by not approaching it.
They should bring in a solo queue, where you go into an arena and have a 1v1 with a random player. St least you could learn to fight the different classes over and over to get ready for at least 2v2
You mean duels?😊
@@charlesfail8531I don't want to depend on someone else
@@charlesfail8531 yeah but with in-built match making and rating
yeah imagine dueling, but you queue up for it and you're in an arena?@@charlesfail8531
They tried this in BfA, where you could queue for duels in the Mugambala, but it was a total failure. Queue times for the Mugambala duels were almost as long as Solo Shuffle queues im DF. I agree that a 1v1 queue would be nice, but they would have to give really good incentives to play it.
However, some classes would be doomed to fail in such an environment, as some specs just suck at 1v1's compared to others.
Wow arena is such an overwhelming experience for new players. Even people who play for a long time and have memorized most of thr icons/abilities of each class can struggle. 1st and most important tip is try to find people that you enjoy playing with and do not care about rating AT ALL.
Yea indeed, i play with a friend 2v2 and our rating stays the same always houvering around 1000 but we dont care, we just want the conquest gear to play bgs or gank in open world pvp. For comp gaming ill play league or something😂
I envy the editing done in this video, it's so beautiful and underappreciated. I definitely strive to be able to edit this good someday. lol. Great video guys :)
For me the biggest problem in arena is get overthrown with the amount of things that happen all at once and the amount of things you need to get track off, My biggest achievement was only 2krating in 2s but that was only once and mostly i got to 1.95 around that… However i never spent so many hours in arenas maybe thats also a factor + teaming up finding a team i feel like is very frustrating because people don’t have patience with teaming.
The Byron pics,💔, rest in love reckful.
Fantastic presentation for all types of players as a reminder of what it takes to PVP. Well done!
20:12 the volume you mention is not just overall, but current. Doesnt matter if someone has done thousand of arena matches if it was few expansions ago, or even few seasons ago...
I had to come to terms with the fact that i now suck at WoW simply because i don't have time to play so much as i used to. Nowdays i am able to get 15-20 matches a week if lucky and the game outpaced me. Muscle memory got sloppy, reaction time slow, awerness is gone....
I am now happy just casualy playing at low ratings, but for my ego it was hard truth to swallow that I, who used to play among best on my server over a decade ago am getting owned by people who weren't even born when i started with WoW :D
Killer video guys. You guys are doing a crazy dope thing with these videos. I learn a ton from them!! ESPECIALLY the VODs strategy here. I have been streaming my sessions on twitch just so that I can go back and watch them for a month to come! It’s dope, and maaaan I’ll finish a game like “okay, what could we have done there?!!” Then I watch the VOD and go, oh, I died with Turtle still available. Duh
Really cool video concept and you guys crushed the execution.
Unfortunatelly new players that try wow pvp give up on it extremely fast because there is no casual playerbase in pvp anymore and those 500 ppl on leaderboards are extremely toxic towards casuals/newcomers spamming bullshit emotes every game
Very true
Not including all the boosting going on by rank 1 players that blizzard allows to happen 😂
I mean if you're going to quit the game because someone taunted you in pvp, probably shouldn't be pvping anyway. M+ mobs won't emote at you XD
@@hevymetaldood4891 i mean if you are going to quit the game cause no one plays pvp and queues take ages, maybe play M+. Mobs won‘t quit the game from talking bullshit to them xD
Nobody on the leaderboard BMs because you literally will never fight them
step1: create dh
step2: wait until patchday on wednesday (eu)
step3: farm bg gear
step4: stomp noobs in arena
step5: flame about range classes on the forum because you reached 2k and good players will be forced
step6: tell ppl pvp is bad and need fixed
nice vid btw
This but warrior
@@rainy3527please dont 3v3 meta is extremely toxic towards warriors past month or two
@@Undertaker257 not 2v2 or solo shuffle
@@rainy3527 being kited by druids frost mages locks that do absurd dmg just by spamming spacebar at you every lobby sure isnt fun in solo shuffle. And that has been my whole s2 exp at around 2k peak. Give me broken rets anyday... just my opinion... ohh and i forgot to mention 2x warlock mugambala lobbys that happen atleast once a day xd
@@rainy3527 youre right about twos tho.. fury with druid is extremely toxic but 2s hold no value nor give any rewards
This video seems to be made specifically for me. Thank you for considering new and unskilled players. I appreciate this kind of content =)
In practice, I've done pvp since vanilla and still find myself currently stuck at 1200 again. It appears that just playing for a long time doesn't make one automatically good.
I was watching the video and thought I've heard this before. Then near the end, point 7, game knowledge, clicked for me. It seems to be the key. I realized I don't know anything about other classes' abilities. I haven't even bothered to read all of mine in detail. And it's been 20 years =) Because of this, I don't recognize game states. I don't know how to respond to enemy CDs. I seldom even notice when they're popped. And also I almost always fail at executing CC with burst.
This was a fine video for identifying the weaknesses. It'd be great, if you could next do one about designing a training regime. For example, how do you learn all the abilities? There are literally hundreds. I keep looking at them and still, when I see the small icons pop again, my mind is blank =) It's harder than learning a new language.
I just can't remember them.
Interestingly enough play times seem to matter too. We've always played during mornings (euro time) and gotten crazy 2k+ opponents. Now we had the chance to play an evening and went easily to 1400.
This is an awesome amount of realization here & self awareness! How has the journey been since 4 months ago I’m curious?
This is my fave thing about WoW; the learning. It is indeed a lot of abilities to learn and memorize - I’ve played almost every class over the years so still remember what Anti-Magic Shell does (DK) or Holy Shock (Paladin) etc. That helped me a ton. Because yes, new abilities come out on expansions, but priests kind of always have psychic scream.
If the game were so basic without all the different abilities, my mind would get bored and I’d want to do something else! Ha.
This was a fantastically and beautifully made video, thank you.
My biggest problem is finding teammates who want to improve together.
Reach out to me, btag corpsegrind#1284
Thanks for the guide!
Awesome video! And really fun 😂
The charge/hamstring macro never fails due to Charge's minimum distance. If you wanna off-snare as long as they're in melee range it won't charge. I have one for my SV hunter too. D will Conc Shot my target, but will harpoon a mouseover. Amazing for keeping my target while I poontrap healers.
I just came to say this but checked first , you can never accidentally charge someone while using that macro 😂
I guess that rank 1 warrior is wrong then
@@andriesvanr3422 about what?
@@andriesvanr3422 Yup, he's trolling, every Warr knows it, even those hardstuck at 1200
That hurdling ret pally edit was top tier
Hi! New player here. Just started a couple days ago and am looking to improve quickly. I will report back with how things are going. I’m solo shuffle after about 10 games we’re sitting at 1500 rating. Long way to go but learning what every class does and how to counter that is tough tbh. I come from LoL and that was 90% of the game.
Thank you for creating this !!!
Absolutely fantastic job on this video.
I don't care what you say, most people arent streamers, awc competitors or gladiators. If you gotta reroll to play the most broken classes and comps every season that screams desperate for validation to me. You're like a sports fan whose favourite team to support is whoever is winning at this particular time because you think it makes you look good by association.
The counterstrike example would make sense if guns were rebalanced every couple of months, and you had to invest weeks of levelling a character + several days of setting up your UI, binds and macros etc just to play a class you don't enjoy as much.
There's a fundamental difference between having your classes time to shine, and dunking on everyone else because you play the most broken shit every season. What makes it most annoying is that it almost forces everyone else play like this as well, or just suffer as a minority on a class they actually enjoy.
God the worst part about a r1 player having a stupid take is that half of them now feel validated
Couldn't have said it better.
So many trues
I also did something stupid and I never changed it in regards to keybinding. I played Holy Paladin for many years and managed to get to Gladiator two times in MoP (quitted the game in WoD) and I always clicked my targets. The only exceptions were Alt for casting at myself, and a mouseover macro for setting a Focus. I also left the C key bound to Character overview, never changed it.
As melee DPS I also had to click targets as I changed the tab key to Insignia lol - still got to duelist tho!
Great video, personally I have given up on competitive pvp. Battlegrounds are still fun but I am pushing 40, no longer have the time or the mental capacity to pvp at high levels anymore. Brain just doesnt fire like it used to, hard to react as quick as these young guys can, and now theres so many skills its almost impossible to remember all this shit lol
great video!
This was a great video!
Thank you!
Thank you skillcap ❤
Reck the legend! Thanks for the vid guys!
insanely good video for beginners
Bruh the Shift + T at 2:51 got me for good 😂
Complex macros are a must as a Druid. Sooooooooo many specs, sooooo many binds.
charge and hamstring causes absolutely 0 problems, the moment i macrod it together ive never noticed any difference and literally frees up 3 binds, cause you can macro it into a focus charge and focus hamstring together. you can only hate on it if you never tried it
loved the vid ! such nice work and car can't wait to see more 🙂
Fantastic video and stepwise guide ❤
Skill capped, can u please do a deep analysis Positioning breakdown video? So many games are lost because of poor positioning, and dmg and cc are also benefited by good positioning. Please break it down for us.
I truly hate that some tmogs are locked behind pvp. The priest set is so beautiful but i must play pvp now or i will never have a chance of obtaining it again...
Us pve players never have to worry about that. Can't imagine how miserable it must be to be mainly a pvp player and have to deal with this all the time.
Genuinely the first time i ever considered boosting. And of it wasnt as expensibe i would.
The Macro issue is actually what got me not to use complicated ones
The charge and Hamstring is really the thing I pointed aswell when I was doing PvP in December 2022.
What if I havent killed the target and hes still in range but I cant cast hamstring because I cant rotate Charge...
the reckful shoutout
my old issue used to be staring at my abilities because i didnt have the muscle memory of when things would be up for my normal rotation
No wonder pvp is not as big as it once was, it got a lot to complex.
Life coach material. 🙌
9:33 Is there a video I can watch or post to read more about these class styles? Breaking down melees into brawlers versus tacticians (and ranged, etc.) is interesting.
Best video in years 🤙
Ive been playing wow since 2005 and my guild just talked me into pvp yesterday. Thanks for the information. im also playing a DH no matter what. I dont need to be the best just want to have fun with a class i love.
Automatic LIKE, just for mentioning the legend, RECKFUL.
Everyone complained about the AWP when I played Counterstrike, and some servers banned them. Too much power for the range was the argument, but it was like the Golden Gun in Goldeneye, you can only fire it once and then it has to reload.
does anyone has some tipos for casters at arena? 1 got 1400 at 2v2 but I'm always carryed. MY Shadow Priest simply cant take any damage, many times i got insta dead. When I try to position myself, there is always a rogue infinite stunning and comboing me, or and hunter giving me like 2 shots, ora warrior/DK that kicks and slows me, turning impomssible to run/heal/fear etc
I’m a longtime player, pretty casual these days, but a beginner arena goer. I’m playing a holy Paladin and have finally got 1401 rating after weeks. Healing is so frustrating and people are mostly nice but I’ve had some really mean things said to me lol. I think I’m around 50% win/loss. I’d really like to get to 1800 for the classic pvp transmog but I’m losing hope for that haha. I e spent most of the time bouncing between 1200 and 1300 with a marked difference in the 1400 bracket.
I wish they would take like abilities and change how they are displayed on the recieving end to help with identifying threats/CC. Like if a druid was casting Entangling roots on the recieving players screen under their name it would just say they were casting "hard cc". Or if it was a slow it would be "soft cc". Keep the flavor from the casters perspective, but clean up the unformation on the receiving end
Step one: have a degree in nuclear science and astrophysics
You guys be doing the most.
Arena frames: gladius, cooldown trakers: omnibar, big debuffs, spell alerts: weak auras. 8:06 for list of addons
i have 2,5bars gull of spells and now i schould make target 1 2 and 3 makros for each of them?
"Reckful was" Right in the feelz .... fkin rip
I do wonder why it is that other companies including Blizzard themselves haven’t really attempted to implement the complex scripting and configuration system that’s featured in WoW.
Nothing wrong with charge hamstring, charge in 3.3.5 had a min and a max range so unless your target is farther than 5 yards ( which would be too far for a hamstring anyway) you would just charge. Bajheera used this macro in 3.3.5 and so did I and it works well. Otherwise great video!
That rank 1 world famous warrior is wrong then i guess
I really love PvP and am not a Rank 1 or anything close. I understand that.
It does make it very difficult to enjoy PvP like RSS, when after the first round you get killed, use every CD to stay alive, but the healer who just did half as much healing as the opposing healer says “Braindead Ret” and then you get marked as the Go target every round.
The next 5 rounds are full 3 man bursts of trying to overwhelm you, your healer not being able to handle the huge burst on you, and your partner essentially AFK’ing because at least THEY aren’t the turnip punching bag this time.
It’s hard to learn anything we when you have BM hunters and Demo Warlocks in a 1500 bracket who just immediately pop everything and there are literally 20 mobs on the screen from all their pets.
I feel like you almost have to rank up beyond 2k to actually get to opponents who do anything but “blow every cooldown immediately and hope someone else dies first”
As someone who is just trying to get into pvp. This still felt very overwhelming. I want to play it but trying to have different add ons and hud setups between pvp and pve and different talents and such makes it feel impossible.
I’ve been playing since bc and I don’t use addons or macros, you can see lay, learn and have fun without all that
can someone tell me which site they're using here 20:08 ?
How to obtain elite PVP illusion in WOW 10.0
I obtained the Conquer Set from the NPC, but I want the illusion of elite PVP equipment, which looks cooler. I didn't find a way
i don't play wow so my question is in wow combat system besides knowledge what are the others skills gaps in this game?
I played my first arena last night 2v2… everyone already learned and mastered how to play. I’m an arms warrior and I just get slaughtered every game. I thought it would be like a bg
Now that I'm old, and have never been good at arena, in spite of playing WoW since 2004, I find myself wondering if it's even worth putting in the effort to get good. I have the better part of two decades worth of bad habits to unlearn.
I'm a piano teacher and comparing your pedagogy and mine is very interesting. The low hanging fruit of improvement HAS to be practicing keybinds and imagining setups against target dummies. I'll go further and say, if you can find joy into perfecting your mechanics vs target dummies, then you won the game. It is possible to have more fun as a beginner than a rank 1 player, if you're locked in a state of flow and enjoying the process of making your actions clean vs a target dummy you might be having more fun than high ranked players stressed to the tits full of cortisol playing their life for a weak hit of dopamine (due to hedonic adaptation). Your rate of progression will be much more fullfilling than that of a pro. I'd even recommend giving up the grind once you plateau, unless you want to make money out of it, and switch to learning something else... like, the piano ;)
Reckful
This is how i like skillcapped. The narrator is being himself and to the point. Not like the other narrator who clearly is pretending, high pitched forced voice and cringe unwanted jokes.
I'm assuming you are talking about Dan, who is the voice of Ezreal for League of Legends in NA. I wouldn't say he's pretending but I'm sure he's not as experienced in wow arena. He is a voice actor/actor/commentator so he is doing what he does lol. I actually like his voice when I'm watching league vids, its like Ezreal is showing me what is good for this patch! I think its very cool he works with/for skillcapped
i have mount bound to plus sign and flying mount bound to shift plus sign haha
Palu made it. He got into a skill capped vid
Ominbar lags my game is there any other addon for that?
Never been much into pvp for the amount of time I played. Tried it in DF season 2 and was told that I suck at the game and that I need to quit playing. That was only playing on my second game if solo shuffle.
What’s the video from at 21:35
"G" is a hotkey I need to incorporate more.. do you hit it with your thumb or index?
With your tongue
Balls. You slap it with your balls
Im new late in season...so where do beginners go? Random Bgs are equal to trying to run a M20 as soon as you hit 70. Do you have to by carries or just get trashed for even showing up in a BG? Gear mean everything right///10 item levels is 100% stronger according to blizz. Is there a starting bracket for new players? Wonder why pvp is not growing..
that apm counter is not real actions per min its counting everything he does like spamming keys when hes cant even use them etc, not have 200+ apm in wow arena like how APM is used in Starcraft or any other game. We had someone the other day trying to say that wow apm is higher than that of a game like BDO where just 1 skill input takes like 3-4 actions. So when lookin into it the APM counter that he was showing as an example which was this one was counting every action he was hitting wheather it was usful or not. So just smashing your keys so you can use them as soon as they are up (which would normally be 1 action maybe 2 since it only takes 1 action to activate a skill) it turns into like 10 actions bc of the spam slamming on the key whe its close to GCD
Back in the old days TBC and Wotlk we just grinded games 18 hr/day with my teamates and eventualy got Gladiator, its just Play a lot of games you eventualy get there if you keep griding. There is no way in hell you wont learn something this way, maybe not effective as much but still it gets the job done.
If I could start over I would main rog or mage, bullet proof success
learning a setup comp first does make everything more logical in pvp
Based skill capped
Been stuck at 2100 since bfa I can't seem to get over it no matter how much I que or Try I watch so many videos and research as much as I can but still stuck and feel I'm doing something wrong but can't seem figure out
It’s the comp
what are those nameplates?
i still feel that even with the least addons apply, this game is a nightmare to understand everything is happening in a 3x3. I wish wow didnt allow any addons at all
how do you even get into rated pvp? like I know there is solo shuffle but im not willing to sit in a queue for 20 minutes every match and I dont have friends that like pvp
We miss you byron, rest in peace brother.
After 15 years in Wow, I’m trying to learn 3v3, but can’t find people to play with, and Soloque is just so toxic and random, that it doesn’t seem possible to keep wanting to improve to end up with those toxic animals in the end.
It's so brutal to start late in an expansion or season. Everyone I run into has about 700k health and I have like 290k. Gee, I wonder who's gonna win.
I want to point out that fox marth is a terrible analogy for what you said since the matchup is arguably 45-55 .mang0 just won due to being mang0. Also melee is a game where tier lists don't matter until you are a top 100 player. The game is too difficult and unbalanced so a roy (bottom tier) could win a huge tournament as zain did during Covid.
i like the other guys voice but i can get kinda annoying hearing the same guy again and again just like everyone. so its rly nice that this guys is here even tho its just for a bit
Wow pvp is the hardest i've played as a support
i have a bad habit to change class, i loose my focus on one specifik class
This video is insane tbh, oh and sub rogues, they can play like rogues btw :(
As an actual new wow player considering PvP, I find this an amazingly complex and prohibitively steep learning curve. Stuck to open world "end game" content and looking for another game.
wait for the new expansion and then start with pvp bro when somebody will be atleast at same gear, starting pvping in hte end of an expansion is always hard and not rewarding at all :D
like all i want to improve is keybind managment and not to get brainfreeze in sertain situations
It was really painful to see that " CTRL + F5" keybind :D
my highest rank was 1.9 rating in warlods of draenor i did 5-6 years break and now i feel like a total beginnr if someone is willing to help me to get back to arena and wow i would highly apreciate it
all the way over
F for Reckful
Would this video be good if I’m only a PVE player?
PVP was great until Cataclysm, I haven't played WOW going on 9 years now. The way I learned besides learning my characters skill sets, I studied every other classes abilities and focused on how to counter those abilities by the abilities I had for my character whether offensive or defensive. Seemed to work out pretty good for me, especially in world pvp. Once they started nerfing pvp gear and started buffing pve gear they killed world pvp and made that gear pretty much only viable in pvp arena, but even then people with less skill wearing maxed out pve gear in pvp arena became harder to kill because Wow allowed set bonuses to gear to be active. Wow during vanilla up to Cataclysm was the best times to play WOW.
Why are you even watching this if you don't play wow? You don't even know what is going on in wow and saying wow used to be good and now it doesn't...
@macarrony123 Facts, and if you didn't play back then you will never know. I did come back and play Mist of Pandera and some of Shadow lands, and yeah I'll stay with my original comment, it sucks. Don't get butt hurt over something said.
@@Icybones000 lol "I haven't played wow going 9 years" then says it played mists and shadowlands... You know nothing...
