I remember watching some behind the scenes feature when this came out and the Wayans said that they were really nervous about explaining to Terry Crews the scene where he sings the song in the car and asking him to do it because they thought he would get pissed that they wanted to make him look ridiculous and he'd refuse to do the scene, but to their surprise he thought it was hilarious and started listening to the song on repeat all the time in order to really learn it and be able to perform it well. He killed it.
My mother was deaf.. She loved watching comedies, especially physical humor. I remember hearing her laughter from her bedroom while she watch this movie.
I like that they made fun of stereotypes that actually exist. They unashamedly served it to us on a silver tray and we ate it up, because they cleverly did it with hilarious tongue in cheek. Like a poking fun at us humans kind of thing. I think the point of their disguises was that we could all see the difference, but they wanted the audience to just go with the flow to see what they do with it all, anyway.
The only issue I had was the girls saying the n word....like let's cut that out of the film...it's not funny it's kinda shocking to have the good characters say that and not the evil ones

And I know you know who Damon Wayans is. The movie you were referring to, (don't be a menace to south central...) Was directed by Keenan. The younger Wayans Brothers learned all they know and now they do their own thing. It is very close knit family. Just letting you know, thanks, and i really like your videos

It's funny how you guy's understood Terry crews character that's how they really act😖🤭 and how they have good messages friendship loyalty, self respect, appreciation for your spouse, good quality of a person, and watch how you act and treat people you never know when you will drop to the bottom. Really good movie.
I think that's the best thing about this film, on the surface it's just a comedy but if you really look into it there are these deeper messages and I love that. :)

I think maybe she wouldn't have believed him. In the beginning when she calls him, she also calls his boss to make sure what he's doing. When he keeps dozing off due to putting too much time in his work, she gets angry and thinks he doesn't care about her at all. That all stems from bad communication the two had, and not really putting themselves into the other's shoes and seeing their perspective
