It's funny cuz i started reading comments when the video was almost over and this popped up once she actually said it
Hey, you don't know me, but hearing your story and situation is so familiar it hurts. I wanted to share this because while I'm sure you've heard it before, every voice contributes to knowing that there are people out there that truly understand who you were, why you were, and that you were just a young person making childish mistakes who needed help. I'm the same age as you, slightly older maybe by a year. I was a stupid teenager back then, too.
I came from a family entrenched in homophobic, racist, misogynist, all kinds of hateful beliefs. I'm talking every ism/ist/gny/phobia under the sun except misandry. It was traumatic, my parents were awful to me. That is traumatic as all hell, and even worse is the anger it leaves you with as you are forced to sit there and wonder for the rest of your life, "Why? Why did they do that?" It's hard to talk to people, you don't want to chase people away, but you need to be heard to heal, around and around and around with no right answers and seemingly no help to be found. It explodes out of the cracks made by the disordered sense of trust, and those hairline triggers can erupt at the slightest provocation and leave you spiraling for weeks. I am STILL recovering from the damage to my mental health three years after escaping. It left me with CPTSD, which involves memory loss and time loss, and I have autism and ADHD on top of it all.
I know what it feels like to be in that awful grey area of both having, and not having full control over your own behavior. I can deal with that privately because I'm not a popular icon. The public's separation from you socially, in lifestyle, and internet distance allows them to dissociate you from your personhood into a symbolic object, and justify chasing your every single move without any empathy or restraint. The recognition, the attention, praise you never had before could be intoxicating in a mindset like that and complicate everything. The fear of being rejected and losing all of that would be devastating, especially since by then it was also your livelihood, your only income. What you did was wrong, but it is also wrong to outright attack and defame you with so much hate, done with zero respect for your privacy or allowance for age related mercy, even to the point of threatening your access to basic needs and safety. Nobody was in the right, but the visceral reaction, the intent to do real harm, was way too much and went on far too long. It was cruel, plain and simple.
That's a lot to go through, and I hope that it's finally over so you can move on. You're NOT a monster, you're a human being, and humans need to hear these important words sometimes; It's gonna to be okay.
I’m sorry you had to go through that!
I’m black and I love your content. When I heard about you saying the n word, I was completely shocked and disappointed. But I know now you are better than that and you showed all of us how much you really do support the black community. And just for that I accept your apology. 😆🫶🏼
As a disabled viewer with an assistance dog honestly I thought that guide dog joke was hilarious. You're an awesome person who makes amazing content! Your past doesn't define you, if you're working on being a better person then that's all anyone can ask. This is the most genuine apology video I have ever seen and it is written on your face that you mean it.
Having a dark sense of humour isn't a crime and you shouldn't be vilified for it at all. You're awesome! Keep being awesome and you'll keep on going. And if that petition passes I'll personally make my own to get you back on tiktok!
Right? I think so, too❤
Same, people need to understand a joke.
The guide dog joke truly was a moment of “a lot of people hate this creator. They said this edgy joke so we can totally blow it out of proportion and have more people hate them.” I guarantee if any other creator had said that joke, NOTHING would have come from it.

I have a service dog, not for a physical disability, but for anxiety and anxiety/panic attacks. I also thought it was hilarious. It's called "immoral/illegal life hacks" for a reason.
instead of shutting their apologies down, we need to appreciate them. an apology is like the first step when you start walking. it's the beginning, so appreciate the fact that they are at least trying to move on and take a step forward.
I mean, it really depends, there are apologies out there that the person is really just trying to cover themselves up and haven’t changed. Apologies should be treated as a beginning to fixing the problem, but it won’t always be that beginning.
however you address it, there'll still be some people out there waiting for you to mess up. but dont listen to them, bella. keep your head up and remain strong! addressing the problem is only the beginning. but we'll support you, always.

It's acting. They aren't being better like they claimed they were doing. There would need to be some major steps forward to convince me otherwise.
@@sonofdeleniel007 Honestly who cares at this point? Frankly the fact she's appearing genuine and is willing to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for her actions, she actually is probably more genuine then most youtubers I have seen, so that's your opinion but most people would disagree, she's still able to reply if people won't stop but in the end, it's her choice, this doesn't change the fact she made this apology video and frankly, i haven't seen a youtuber who's made something like this before or since, so if you can't be convinced, then that's your issue, everyone is different in how they perceive things, but like I said, I trust her words in this case, too many people blew this shit out of proportion and I don't believe she deserved this shit, and you wonder why she blew up like she did screaming? Anyone could have done that honestly. Anyways sorry for the "essay" but I figured you should know your viewpoint won't align with others, its just a fact of life.

This was definitely the right way of going about this - discussing everything and apologizing for it all in the most mature way I have ever seen an influencer do anything. Remember, no one is perfect and we have all messed up, but following through with the change you promise yourself and others is what matters. Above all, I appreciated how I could tell your apology was genuine, so thank you for this ❤
Honestly it's crazy to me how people will absolutely farm views by using your face and slapping (EXPOSED) next to it and rehash the same 4 things again and again.
That's just RUclips in general, everything is exaggerated to the point of parody, that's one of the sad parts about this platform over the years is how hyper focused communities are on their creators, with every movement they do is judged, how creators themselves have to change in order to make their own living practical, etc... The lowest I'd say of the platform as a whole was 2016 with the rise of politics, and the adpocalypse.

Bella, as a black person when I saw what you said in those texts I lost respect and the will to support you. A year after that you started to pop up in my recommended and I started to see you around again. I was still on edge but I watched a bit of them. I eventually heard about you and Mattie’s break up and how they lied to you and everything and around that I time I had completely forgotten about the whole N word situation. I now have forgiven you. I’ve had a person whom I considered a friend call me the N word hard er because I told her that a person she was talking to lied about owning exotic animals(only because she was talking about buying some from him.) He said he had things like albino alligators and cobras ect. She took his side and we got into a heated argument and she called me the N word and I found out that she thought it was ok to refer to her black cat as the N word. I tried to tell her why the word was hurtful and she didn’t listen or care. Usually a random person calling me that slur on the internet didn’t hurt as much because it was a bunch of bigots who didn’t know me. Wow, that was a lot but I'm glad you were able to tell your side of things. Crazy how the worst we would get was a time out in school or something, and after that you're on your own if you offend someone. Now the whole world wants blood for a conversation between 2 individuals
When they make a "social media how to" text book, this video is going in the apology video chapter. This is how it's done, you acknowledge what happened and sincerely apologize for it. No excuses, no beating around the bush, no fake crying or begging for forgiveness. You were vulnerable in this video, you showed us how human you are. Whether you're forgiven or not, this video was perfection and you should be proud of yourself for the growth you've made between the awful things you said in your past and the person you are today.
Brah she dresses up like trash
This comment was so well written. 👏❤
@Cloudless Sky brah she dresses how she wants and doesn't care about your opinion 😌 when can we stop commenting on the appearance of others as if that makes them worth less than anyone else?
@@cloudlesssky5763 I just watched your improv in F#, you're really good btw, keep up the good work!
@@AnnaMBanana i say it ironically, like a middle school bully from the back of the class, nothing serious
i have adhd rejection sensitivity. i couldn’t imagine being in your shoes in a place like this. i honestly wouldve given up. go you and im glad you did own up to many things without sugarcoating and diverting the narrative away to have an excuse
I don't understand why people think that they are forever racist just because they once were, like someone can be homophobic until their thirties and then realize they are gay or just become an ally, people can change and no content creator is perfect, they're only humans too
Wow I'm 5 months late but Bella you are one of the most genuine influencers I follow. I've been following you on tiktok for years but I only really got to know your story like a week ago. I love how you genuinely get affected by things like this. How you watch and read everything centred around what happened. Most people would've shut out all the bad comments and moved on with their lives but you took the time to address every person, watch every video and read every comment. You don't deserve all the stuff that's happened from your childhood, your mental health and even everything that's happening now with "they" who shall not be named.
Just know that you're amazing and you deserve the world. ❤
Most honest apology from any influencer I’ve seen, mainly bc there’s no fake ass tears
Keep up the good work, everyone is forever learning as no one knows everything. I’ll be glad to learn along side you.
Sixth time asking: Bella, if it is possible could you post a video about Missouri knowing about the contamination in Springfield’s groundwater decades before anyone told residents? This is affecting me, my family, my friends, and thousands of others. I would truly appreciate it if you could bring attention to this.
While I admit I didn’t think the best of you previously I appreciate the effort to properly acknowledge and apologize.
This is a great video and needed to be done. Good for you, Bella. I (and many others) can tell you are growing and maturing ♡ If you don't look back on your past life and cringe, then you're not growing!
I really do wish the best for you
I’ll be honest, this is the first apology video I’ve seen and felt how sorry you are. It’s so genuine and sincere. I had no idea about any of this that went on, but I’m glad you’ve addressed it and apologise in the most heartfelt way I have ever seen. I stand with you, and I’m proud of you. Keep going B, you got this ♥️
It's an apology and much more.
She doesn't just apologise for it, but she explains why it needs an apology and shows an understanding of the mistake. Stuff like this is not only rare but its fantastic.
Anyone can be a great person if they try and she certainly seems to be trying.
As a black guy I don't the shit she said was crazy and it's not just part of sm1 vocabulary u have to be truly racist asf to say what she did
@@whybetrayerispoison5413 But people can stop being racist.
Even the worst person can change if they just try. Is one mistake truly unforgivable?
@@ThatCrazyPigeonGuy calling someone a n word lover is dif level of racism
Same here, thank u :)) i love your content and I’m really glad you took the time to make this heartfelt video 💛
As a disabled person the service dog joke was absolutely hilarious and ok
this is a good influencer apology because instead of trying to backtrack or explain why you are right and backup everything you just admit that you were wrong and that you can move on. some youtubers make huge mistakes and bad apology's, and you made a huge mistake but a good apology, that's why it's hard to forgive, because when you think back on the things that you have done. but since you have changed i'm sure a lot of people are willing to forgive you.
i am so very sorry that this has all happened to you. yes, you've made mistakes but who hasn't? babes you are A M A Z I N G, mk? watching you content literally makes my day! again, so so sorry abt everything, you didn't deserve it
It's takes a good soul to openly admit to bad mistakes. If you're not growing, you're not learning, and you're obviously learning. I still have you on 'all notifications', love, so you have my support. Keep being honest. Xx
I’m not sure if you’re still responding to comments at this point, but I just wanted to say that after watching this, I feel like it was a sincere way to come forth over everything that happened. It truly seems like you want to work on yourself which is the most important step. I stopped following you myself a while back because there was a lack of explanation and now that I have it I feel comfortable following you again. I know it must be tough living in the public guy and I’m sorry that things get out of hand sometimes and I’m proud of you for taking accountability. Keep growing and learning and using your platform to better the world!🥰
This honestly just makes you seem like such a real person and gave me a lot of insight overall into how the influence world works.
The most mature apology
This was a very genuine apology/explanation so thank you for being vulnerable and admitting your mistakes. That's more than most creators could do. Just remember that not everyone who watches your channel thinks your homophobic or racist or deserve to be canceled, there's plenty of people that genuinely enjoy your content and find it entertaining. These haters would love to see you fail and they are hungry for attention and drama. And that's just as bad as the things from your past they are picking you apart for. Keep being the awesome creator that you are :)
It takes a lot for you to actually come out and address everything, even when it’s so late from when everything happened. Regardless if people believe you or not, it’s a good thing you took the time to speak your side and hold yourself accountable for your wrong doings.
no it takes a script
@@cartoonkid8185 A 26 minute long script explaining what they did wrong and why it was wrong, aswell as how they are improving on it is a pretty damn good apology. Ya wanna know why? Cause it shows they really thought about their mistakes and not just how to get everyone to shut up.
(It has just occurred to me that you might have been joking. Were you joking?)
Wow!
This is fucked up!
Digging up messages from years ago, when person was a teenager and "cancellling" them.
And no, I don't say what you did was okay, but everyone makes mistakes, what is important is to learn from it and grow as a person.
I for one really respect the decision to make this video. As a lot of other people are pointing out, this seems like a rare example of a genuine RUclips apology.
As a black person I forgive Bella, I feel like this is a very mature decision to post about the problematic things she/they did then some half-ass "apology". I hope you are truly happy Bella and have grown into someone more caring and mature love you 💖

A lot of people make mistakes as teens, and you can't change that, you can however change who you are today and you did, you worked hard and are a genuine and nice person who cares for other people.
I didn't know about this all, and i'm shocked to hear what happened, and what must have been hard to go through. To see what kind of comments and DM's you got, that must have been hard on your mental health and i'm really sorry you had to go through that.
I've seen your 'illegal life hacks' video's and just laughed about them because to me it was obvious you weren't actually supporting that kind of behaviour and it meant as more of a joke.
You're a good content creator and you often bring a smile on my face, I don't really comment on things often but i felt after all these negative voices coming your way you needed some positive ones.
I and a lot of other people care for you and can see that, even though you made mistakes in the past, you're a good person and feel sorry for what you did and tried to make it right as much as you could.
You're amazing, I hope you keep doing what you do!
I’m a newer follower so I haven’t been fortunate enough to see any videos about your backstory. I grew up in foster care too. 13 homes in 8 years so I understand your pain and the reactions you had. Just from this video alone I can honestly say we’ve seen your growth and you’re amazing! Also I’d like to learn more about you!!!! My sister and I were adopted when I was 12 into a family that eventually grew to 10 kids lol
Bella,
English isn't my first language so I find it difficult to express myself properly but I just wanted you to know that I support you, we all made mistakes in the past, and the important thing is that you changed and admit your mistakes, you explained. I think you did a good job with this video and I'm happy to see a lot of people still support you. We don't know you like your friends but we know that you are right now a good person. I love you💕
I'm really sorry this happened

We've all made mistakes when we were younger and we all live with some kind of regret. Your apology was so sincere. You've definitely grown as a person and I believe you'll continue to grow. I like how you take responsibility for your actions and don't make excuses. You've been very open and honest and I truly respect that. I will always support you and look forward to seeing how you grow in the future.
I am probably one of the only people who understand what your going through and we are both still going through it to this day! So I understand how hard it is to try to explain and apologize to everyone cause it’s not easy! And then most of the people you try to explain it to don’t even believe your sorry or that you have changed. But I believe you and I’m glad to know that I am not the only one who has had to go through this❤
I really hope this doesn’t stress you out too much. You did some questionable shit, but i found a quote that I really like.
“People are variables.” - Unknown
People are variables, they can change. I believe you have changed so much since then and still can. I think you’re a genuine good person, and some people can’t accept that because they can’t let go of the past. 👍🏼
i feel for you, I really do. I am not particularly in a place to forgive you because, as you said, those things were not targeted at people like me. But, what I can relate to is your background. I experienced severe childhood trauma, and I won't go into the details, but I tried to kill myself three times when I was 10, because of bullying and my dad being an alcoholic that wanted nothing more than to hurt my mum, and would more than happily ruin my life in the process. He is now dead, and I am now 14 and over it, just like you came over it. All that has made me very hateful at times as a person. I am easily angered and when I'm angry I will say things that I don't mean in the slightest, they are just the most awful things I can think of to say in the moment. It gets me into trouble like it got you, and it has lost me friends and reputation in my life. I just can't explain these things to the people that I hurt. From what I understand from the video, you are in a similar position of difficulty because of your troubled childhood, and it has really affected you as a person, and coming to terms with it has really helped. I believe you when you say that it isn't who you are now, and I hope that you see the end of this and you feel better about yourself, and your community can begin to trust and love you again, not clouded by a version of you that is outdated and old. There will be people out there that will wait for you to trip up slightly, but don't listen to them. Be proud of who you are as a person and you will come out the other side stronger.
If anyone bothers to read all this, then I don't believe that Bella meant the things she said, although I am not trying to condone it in any way. It was wrong and disgusting, but its not what she believes.
The terrible thing is that it is absolutely terrifying to say “I apologize for my past self, while acknowledging that I am not the same person.” The unfortunate thing for popular creators is that the masses view that approach as an excuse and disingenuous, and they react with vitriol and volatility.
I love how genuine this is, shes not trying to excuse things, and not trying to influence us by crying or anything, just laying it out, explaining, and apologizing.
I came across a video, about a year ago, that someone had made about the texting controversy. I tried to look into it and all I found were other people's angry biased videos that were only tearing you down and saying that you are an awful person. I'm really glad you've opened up about the process of how this all happened and I appreciate your honesty.
I looked up to you when I first started seeing your videos on RUclips shorts and I still look up to you now seeing your maturity now in handling this mess. 💜
Bella, I respect you so much for making this video. What happens in the past cannot be erased, all you can do is forgive and move on. I will always support you no matter what, so keep doing what you do and i hope you find your happy place. wishing you luck
Everyone makes mistakes and it's impossible to please everyone. It's decent that she apologized, but I just wish people were SOO sensitive. Bella has a dark sense of humor and I love it, same reason I love family guy and South Park, and they don't sensor shit!! Now she's going to have to second guess everything she creates, and we will lose the essence of onlyjayus
"It's kind of like calling me homophobic even though I'm gay" that actually happened.
I suppose if one is a "card carrying" and "confirmed" homosexual, or "certified" black person, one can get away with using (or ABusing) words like "faggot" or even "nigger"
As a (relatively straight) W.A.S.P. male myself of a certain age, I basically am NOT allowed to say too much nowadays, or even to be taken seriously if I AM allowed to say something. I guess it's our time to be the "second class citizens"??🙄🤣
