A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to saving Terry's life - especially the brave neighbour!! Hope the abuser was charged with everything possible. Countries all over the world need stiffer, stronger animal abuse laws and the courts need to do a better job at enforcing them.

Makes me so angry. The puppy didn’t fail, the owners did. I am thankful for the kind people who helped this little guy
13 Years ago we adopted a 1 1/2 year old Belgian/Australian shepherd mix who had been so badly abused by her previous owners that it took two months of constant 1 on 1 with her before she finally trusted me. During that time, she'd pee in fear in the house multiple times a day. I couldn't talk and use hand motions (which was a habit for me I had to learn to break for her) because even if she was behind me, even if I wasn't directing it towards her, she'd just piss herself thinking I was going to hit her...
I spent every free time I had working at her pace, trying to show her what love was, until one day 2 months later she came up to me willingly and laid her head in my lap and I just started crying and petting her. She was the sweetest dog I've ever owned, full of pure love, and after over a year of only bringing her around people I knew wouldn't make her feel threatened, she became the friendliest girl I've ever seen.
She passed away 10 1/2 months ago... I miss her so much every single day...
So sorry, that must've ripped your heart out, sending love n'hugs. My abused cat only lived 19 months after I adopted him. I changed that to hours - over 14,000 of love, trust, care and protected. It's very satisfying. How many hours does your sweet baby translate to? I hope it comforts you in those harder moments.
Oh I feel your sorrow, lost my best friend a Peke at age 18 and only now have a new cherished companion. You really are a dog whisperer! That's so wonderful.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. We rescued a very sweet dog who came crawling up our driveway horribly abused and was skin and bones. We took him straight to the vet where they immediately took steps to save his life. We named him Duke, and he took a shine to my husband,however he grew to love all of our family. My husband is a Viet Nam veteran who had severe PTSD. Duke brought a sense of peace to him. We took him to the VA service dog training center. They were so impressed by his natural instincts to properly perform the tasks necessary to support Ray; they started working with us to help continue his training to qualify him as a working military service dog! Duke changed Ray’s life ( which changed our families relationships)! He was about 2 when he came to us and was 15+ when we had to put him down this past year. Dukes tail never stopped wagging and he had the sweetest smile, and the kindest eyes; he never left Ray’s side except when the grandkids took him fishing. He was always wonderful, but when his vest was put on him, he carried his head high,chest out, and literally pranced! Your story reminded me so much about him, how he found us. Your story brought so many wonderful memories to the both of us.

I cannot understand people who abuse animals.
The abusers are the worst form of creation on the planet.
If one can't shower a pet with care and love - don't get a pet in the first place.
Well done to everyone who rescued Terry from this monster, and nursed him back to life.

The “person” who had Terry is an evil 🤬🤬. Puppies having accidents indoors is part and parcel of owning a dog until you put in the effort to toilet train them which takes time and patience. So glad the neighbour was so brave to intervene and rescue this poor defenceless puppy. The team did an amazing job helping Terry back to health and can totally see why Rachel wanted to adopt him as he’s gorgeous 🐶🫶🏻. Very happy he’s now living the wonderful life he deserves with a loving family and some dog playmates as well ❤️🐶. Seriously hope the “person” was charged for animal cruelty and abuse

The neighbour truly saved poor little Terrys life by being brave enough to get involved and get him straight to much needed medical help. The vets and nurses who treated Terry for his devastating injuries are wonderful people and along with the neighbour showed Terry what real love and care is and he now has a wonderful new life with the lovely Rachel and her family 🐶💓💓. Hope the person who abused poor Terry was charge with animal abuse and cruelty and banned from ever having another animal again 🤬.

As my dog gets taken to swim and chase her ball, I am so sad for terry, and great full that he was rescued.

Ruby baby! Why would you subject police to meeting the same fate as the beaten dog? Why not take the initiative and the risk of confronting the individual and do it yourself rather than expecting others to do what you will not!

I was thinking the same. Did the man have a wife and children? Did they see the abuse. Often abusers use an animal as a warning. They are sociopaths.

I pray the monster who did this has been prosecuted! This is absolutely disgusting. If he will do something so heinous to an innocent, sweet, precious puppy, what will he do to another human? Ordinary people who would say, who, me? have post pandemic been leaving their cats and dogs on the side of the road when they go on holiday in countries like the US, Canada, France the UK, all over the wealthy countries in Europe. And shelter are overflowing and no kill facilities have to make difficult decisions. What do you say to that?
People who mistreat animals need help, these people are VERY ill. Thank God for everyone who looked after Terry. You're ALL amazing! I'm a member of the RSPCA so as you can imagine I detest ANY cruelty to animals. Thank you so much for being there for Terry ❤ xxxxx

There are people who are just plain evil and have no feelings for anything or anyone! Better laws should be in place to protect animals and we all should step up if we see animals or anyone being abused!!!

I know! I grew up with lots of space for our dogs to run around and here are we, Kiwi the Mighty Peke and I in a low rise apartment building ... all not lost lovely park right in front thank goodness!
Can you please follow up and tell us if this owner was reported and charged for abuse. These cruel people need to be put in prison. So fed up with what people think they have the right to do to animals. Thank you to all the angels on earth that saved him.

Yes- very curious to know if the owner was charged with animal cruelty.
I would have risked my own freedom to do what this poor puppy’s previous owner did to him instantly! I don’t think too many people would have faulted me for my actions had I had the chance. Thu type of behavior simply has to stop. If law enforcement isn’t going to become more aggressive, then perhaps humanity needs to show humanity what’s right, and what’s wrong behavior in our society. If those who cross the line, are punished in the same manner then they can be the example for others who are even contemplating the same actions…as you can see I’ve simply had enough of animal, child, and elderly abusers to last 50 lifetimes!

OMG, I am raging inside!
So thankful Terry has made the recovery he has from such a terrible beating. The lady who saved him was incredibly brave and the veterinary nurse who homed him has given him the loving home he truly deserves. Her heartfelt words, saying that she needed to know he would be safe forever, now he is because he's with you.
Made my blood boil seeing this, absolutely horrible abuse 💔 thankfully Terry now can live life to the fully 💖 thx to some amazing people, I call them heroes 💖

My heart hurts for the cruelty and abuse in our world. I’m not naive, but I will never understand how you can look in a puppy or adult dog’s eyes and hurt them. I just lost my rescue girl Oreo two weeks ago, I of course don’t know her story but I would give anything for her to still be with me. And then I see things like this and it angers me as well. THANK YOU to the amazing lady who rescued this precious puppy, and the vets and technicians who all helped save his life!
Such a lucky little dog now - but horrid start in life. Hope the person who abused him was charged for animal cruelty and prevented from keeping animals so he can’t do it again!

As long as rspca is actually putting the money where they claim to then it definitely is well spent. Lots of people don’t like to hear it but abused animals deserve the support far more than humans do at this point. So many humans today are immensely selfish and incapable of caring about the suffering they inflict on another innocent soul purely because “they are not human” and nothing else, that is utterly disgraceful and needs to stop being the thought process of anyone who holds it. Being human does not give anyone the right to do what our species does on a daily basis to trillions of lives every single day.

My ex husband worked for the cdn SPCA for 30 yrs. The cruelty he saw was horrendous. Just after we got married he brought home a wee puppy that had been neglected. Looked almost like the puppy in this video except he was a fawn, not a brindle coat. Snickers was my shadow. I have never loved a dog as much as I loved him. He's been gone almost 30 yrs and I still will cry when I see a photo of him. Such a beautiful soul. Thank you for rescuing that poor baby and I hope the prior owner was jailed. In so many cases abusive people ( men and women both ) will abuse animals first , then move onto humans as well as the animals. We need to take animal abuse seriously and see it for the warning sign of the cruelty in the person and deal with it at the first sign.
There is literally good and evil in this world. I have no other explanation for people who hurt innocent animals. Pure evil.

@Rescue Vet This broke my heart! My Lily was abuse, neglected and finally abandoned. She had never had vet care. She had heartworm when she was brought to us. Now she is the the most wonderful and loving dog. I can't imagine my life without my little shadow.
It's so sad to see so much cruelty towards animals in this world. Dogs, cats and many other species are such wonderful beings that fill our lives with happiness that it's difficult to understand how this mental illness of torturing them is growing. Much Love to all those people who help in any way to stop the suffering.
I don't think it's always mental illness but growing callousness toward life in general; when something is defective, get rid of it. It's chilling. And terrifying. And yes, wonderful people out there!

There are sick monsters out there who have no feelings or empathy for anyone or anything but themselved and they are protected by law but not innocent animals so much, which is disgusting. A few animals have the luck to come to a good home and be saved and sadly many don't.
What kind of sick SOB does this to a dog? Laws protecting animals and really punishing people who harm them are not nearly strong enough. I am so glad you found him and gave him the life he has now. Thankfully, animals live in the moment and Terry's moments are filled with love and care. Smaller dogs tend to live longer lives, so, its quite possible that your son will have Terry in his life all the way into his late teen's, and possibly his early adulthood. I sure hope you all have a long time together.

Whatever the reasons, that person was not supposed to abuse the dog. It should be a criminal act! Why not did the potty training, rather than beating that innocent dog to death. Evil! Thank you so much for that kind neighbor, and the team at the vet clinic who had done their best to save that beautiful dog, even the vet finally adopted and gave Terry the forever love. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
