A little while ago I made a community post asking for rare PLL algorithms, and I'll be giving my thoughts on them in the next video! (if you were wondering why the end screen is missing a video, that's why!)
Great job, J Perm! Anyways, I was just wondering if you have tried this alg for Y Perm: F R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' F' Just A friendly suggestion, not doubting that you didnt.
I’m currently only 13/21 on my way through learning PLL, but I can say that one thing I really like about PLL is that most of the algorithms are their own inverse, so you can practice them really easily. Just start with a solved cube, apply a v perm (for example) to get to a v perm situation, then do the v perm again to go back to solved. I.e., if you just do the v perm alg repeatedly, the cube will oscillate between solved and v perm unless you make a mistake. Sorry if that was really obvious to everyone else, but had I known that before starting, I would have started sooner. My biggest hurdle to starting was the mental block around worrying that learning an algorithm was pointless if I couldn’t drill it repeatedly, and I thought I’d also have learn how to scramble the cube back to that setup just so I could do the algorithm again. Or, I would have to hope I saw certain PLLs at the end of a random solve, but that’s a very ineffective way for my brain to cement information.
@@Winzee215 the F perm is just a T perm with a R'U'F' prefix. It also has a UR at the end instead of an F', but by the time you get there it's pretty obvious so you don't have to remember that detail. That's the trick I used to memorize it anyways since I already had the T perm down pat from 2-look PLL. Not sure if that's helpful for others. Best of luck.
For clarity’s sake, those two extra U perm algorithms he showed aren’t alternates, one is for when the 3-bar is facing toward you, the other is for when it’s facing away from you. It just saves a bit of time so you don’t have to execute a U2 in order to orient the top layer correctly. An alternate is simply a different algorithm that accomplishes the same thing. I’ll elaborate for anyone interested, I’m going to use the Ua perm as an example. The alg he shows for it at 0:33 and the one he shows at 0:20 aren’t alternates, they serve two different purposes. However, a true alternate to the alg shown at 0:33 would be R U R' U R' U' R2 U' R' U R' U R. Both are done with the 3-bar facing you and both solve the PLL. Since both algs are just alternative ways of doing the same thing, they’re alternates. The other two I mentioned aren’t alternates since they aren’t interchangeable. If you try to use the algorithm at 0:20 to solve the case at 0:33, it won’t solve the case, meaning it’s not an alternate.

For right handed people with small hands, I found another alternative for the Z Perm M' U' M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 P.S The angle at which you start on is different from the one in the video. It replaces the one that's facing you with the one to the right of you.
This algorithm isn't better than the Z Perm shown here, as it has 4 finger resets, while this one only has 2. I recommend either you mirror it, or just learn how to do M moves with your left hand (like I had to)
I wanted to say... perfect timing, I really need to drill my plls AND I love the no intro - straight to content BUT instead imma say.. You made *crazy bad cuber* come out of hiding, THANK YOU!
Hey J-Perm! Just got back into speedsolving after a multiple years hiatus. Back before I stepped away from the hobby I had about half of the PLL's down. I'm starting to pick up the others. Today I decided to start drilling the V perm, and yours is really fun and satisfying to do. I've just gotten to the point in drilling it where I'm no longer thinking about the notation but just executing from memory, and it's more fun the faster I go. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this channel and all the help you've given me over the last couple weeks.
For all who dont understand why the color scheme is incorrect is beacause j perm does every algorithm with l moves but he suggests learning the right handed versions so he mirrored his video
Guys with the Ab perm, you can just do a wide T perm with the block facing you. Basically just make it so the side with 2 correct corners but wrong edge are to the left and do a t perm but replace each R move with a r move
Terimakasih banyak jee, setelah saya putar vidio anda berulang kali, akhirnya saya bisa hafal 21 alogaritma PLL, meskipun gerakan saya masih pelan😅, salam hangat dari Indonesia
Aww god its been a year i haven"t cube,i miss j perm videos, its my 1st time again to watch his videos on 2021....his video are the best, and most motivational.
This video was super helpful! I’m currently trying to learn full PLL, and thanks to your website, I’ve learned Y-perm, T-perm, Jb-perm, and Na-perm. If it weren’t for the resources you’ve created, I would still probably be trying to solve one side at a time.
When he showed the Y perm. I thought it looked similar to the diag corner swap from 2-look pll, after realising that it was the same algorithm my mind simply imploded on itself
I just learned Y perm last week and thought the same thing lol. I was like "Oh nice! I just got a freebee!" since I had already learned the 2-look PLL haha.
J perm Thanks for your video Started learning pll A week ago its now finished. This has made me faster a lot . At first I thought that learning pll was going to be Impossible, but now that I have learnt it I am egaer to learn OLL . Thankyou Jperm
You don't need to know advanced to get sub 30, I got a 24 only using beginners method. Just practice a bit and you'll get it eventually.👍 (Tho it will probably be a little more difficult if you have a bad cube)
Tip for learning the two j perms: if you learnt JA then JB is just the mirrored version. Means convert the R moves into L moves. If you learnt JB then do the same for JA
I have had cubes for a while, but was never a speed solver. I spent an awfully long time remembering the 5*5 parity algorithm. Finally got it yesterday, now I’m bombarded with this man giving me all this PLL stuff. My goal this summer is to learn CFOP.
To everyone, here's a tip: for certain algs like j perm, r perm, etc, instead of learning 2 algs you can just learn the same thing but with your other hand. eg: Ja perm with right hand and replacing Jb perm with Ja perm on left hand (turn the cube y2)
Hey Dylan! I REALLY LOVE UR VIDEOS.. U r my inspiration in cubing.. I was not even sub 1 minute on 3x3 when I started watching ur videos three years ago... And now I am sub 17-18.. Along with being a really very talented and hardworking cuber, u are a very good teacher as well.. I wish I had u as my High school teacher xD... I literally have watched every single of ur videos...I expect u to develop the cubing world and bring more members in the cubing community.. Every day thousands of people are starting to cube only because of being impressed by ur tutorials and videos.. U r a God-gifted cuber and I expect u to be the next world-record holder.. I am ur big fan and hope to meet u in person at some point in my life.. It would be awkward if I don't mention ur very good sense of humour as well.. I feel bored while watching videos of others as they constantly teach about solving... But in ur videos, apart from teaching, u constantly make me laugh at intervals which grows my interest for ur videos... I have subscribed u from all of my Email ids and always recommend ur channel to all my friends.. J perm is my most favourite cubing channel.. Lots of love, respect and good luck for u from my side.. ❤️❤️

Finally, I have learned and memorized the PLL Algorithms. It took only 3 months, but it was worth it. I don't know why I learned full PLL first, one thing I hate about myself is how it's so hard to do "U" moves; I am so much better at "U' " moves. My favorite algs, are the Ub, all the G perms, and the V-perm. Worst one is definitely the E PEmr. Well, time to learn to full OLL, wish me luck.
Thanks a lot!! I was literally struggling through drilling of pll algorithms and especially for V and N perms. Now, I got really good and finger trick friendly algorithms. This would help me a lot in pll execution and becoming sub 12. Again! Thanks a lot!
Just wanna ask for yall cubists out there: is it a good ideia for me to learn edges only and keep using the beginner method for solving the corners and correct edge orientation (yellow on top) first, as to make a slower and more effective transition from beginner method to cfop?
Hi! Personally I would say it's best to learn cfop with 2 step oll and pll. j perms tutorials eill help a lot. Once you learn f2l you will have so much more potential to be fast. It will be very hard at first, at least it was for me, but it is probably the biggest factor for getting to sub 30 for example.

His cube is correct but he prefers the algoritms with L and L' moves so for explaining the algoritms with R and R' moves his has mirrored the video through editing
Okay i was just watching this video for entertainment... I already Know Pll but here are the tips I recommend 1: I know that Jperm doesn't use the Ja algorithm in this video, because it's his favorite alg; he uses the left handed Jb, which I think is better... but an even better Ja algorithm hoe cube with the bar in front, and do this algorithm: R' U L' U2 R U' R' U2 R L U'. Tip number 2: instead of the Ab perm jperm showed, hold the headlights on front and do this algorithm: X' R U' R D2 R' U R D2 R2 X U'. Tip number 3: the Aa perm should be holding the 2x2 block on the left do this algorithm: X R' U R' D2 R U' R' D2 R2 X'. Tip number 4: for GB perm holding the block on the right do this algorithm: F' U' F R2 u' R' U R U' R u' R2, not recommended, just I think it has better finger tricks.
After some weeks and many times revisiting this video I finally finished learning full PLL. Thanks very much for the video. Especially for the finger tricks it was very helpful
i'm pretty relieved to know that I've been using the same G, F, and Na perms as you! because I've always thought that these are way too long though i like how they are easy to memorize and execute
Man you use some interesting PLLs. I've never seen that Ja in particular...also extra motivation for me to learn alt angle As and Us. Also some nice ideas for "helper" finger tricks on nasty turns since it seems like I have similar lockups in some of those spots
Me: Howw! J perm:... Me:howww... J perm:..... Me: HOW!! J Perm: I DONT KNOW -Kung Fu Panda (Btw its my second week of cubing, I know f2l a bit and I can do the cross fast but pll and oll, idk 💀)
It took me a month to learn it, and I learned the N perms last, bcuz those 2 have apparently a 1/72 chance in occuring in any random scramble. I thought they would be harder bcuz of the higher move count than some of the other algorithms, but once I learned Na perm, I noticed its practically J perm.
It took me 1 day to memorize full pll.. Try to memorize every 4 moves or find a pattern that's easy to memorize or try seeing what the algorithm does so you can solve it more intuitively

For right handed people with small hands, I found another alternative for the Z Perm
M' U' M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2
P.S The angle at which you start on is different from the one in the video. It replaces the one that's facing you with the one to the right of you.
he uses this alg on his 2 look pll vid and his alternative pll algs vid btw. gud work tho. i use this one all the time
This algorithm isn't better than the Z Perm shown here, as it has 4 finger resets, while this one only has 2. I recommend either you mirror it, or just learn how to do M moves with your left hand (like I had to)
One variation is like this :-
M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 U2 M'
Swaps the front one with left one

Every day thousands of people are starting to cube only because of being impressed by ur tutorials and videos.. U r a God-gifted cuber and I expect u to be the next world-record holder.. I am ur big fan and hope to meet u in person at some point in my life..

Okay i was just watching this video for entertainment... I already Know Pll but here are the tips I recommend
1: I know that Jperm doesn't use the Ja algorithm in this video, because it's his favorite alg; he uses the left handed Jb, which I think is better... but an even better Ja algorithm hoe cube with the bar in front, and do this algorithm: R' U L' U2 R U' R' U2 R L U'.
