Hey, hope you enjoyed the video! I'll be doing an AMA on the r/speedcubeshop subreddit this Friday at 12 PM Pacific time and it will last a few hours (until I'm tired of answering, basically 😂). I'll be giving away SCS gift cards randomly and to people with good questions, so be there or be square!
Also a clarification: I cannot turn the yellow *center* which means no slice moves that run parallel to yellow (like E or wide d moves).

My dumbest idea for a challenge:
For each rotation you want to make, you have to instead do 3 rotations in the opposite direction. (so if you want to do an R' it's R3 instead.)
And in case there are double turn, then we have to do that single notation six times, for example: U2=U6
Exception: back angle Ub perm ( R’ U R’ U’ *R3* U’ R’ U R U R2) which has a R3 on it and that R3 is preserved.
Edit: Someone in the reply section told me to do R9’ instead of R3, he/she is a genius.
We all want JPerm to suffer.

@@Phantom_Reaper_ no, the E move moves the centers while the U and D’ don’t move the centers

without you realizing it you almost never rotate the white center, so you can complete the challenge by making a cross on the yellow part, and then you not turn the yellow part
8:32 after the first sledge both of the peices were in the right spot and you could've used a commutator to solve the cornerwith green on top and rwd front. And also you coulve used it for the g perm.

I am inspired by you JPerm and I love how you do these challenges
I didn't realize that you turn the yellow side so much during solves. Nice vid!😁
That's technically a world record for "solving a cube without turning the yellow side and caught in a video" if you ask me.
Thought you'd do it with a GAN cube that had the GAN logo on the white side so you could see clearer if it rotated or not but you went yellow just to make it hard on yourself. Respect Sir. Respect.
I devised a great method for solving without turning the yellow side! For example, when you have to do a sune in last layer, but you made white as the cross color, you can just hold the sune where you need to do it, do M E2 M' E2, do the sune, then do the center changing algorithm to put the centers back in their respective sides, and the oll is complete! You can also do that for a variety of algorithms and also f2l!
Plus, for U' D moves in G perm or V perm, just do it in the middle of the algorithm. And, if yellow is on top and you need to do a U' D move in let's say G perm, just do D and then center hanging algorithm, then do U' then put the rest of the centers where they belong.
Wont work cos E is just U D'
E moves are banned.

I have a kinda hard challenge for you: Try to make the cube in the cube pattern, starting from a scrambled cube, just like you did in the checkerboard video
It’s a bit confusing if you don’t have another cube with the pattern next to you
Yes! I love making patterns on my cube. But you're right, very confusing the first time.
It'll be easy after 1-2 times. I actually did that sometimes
Dude Literally shattered my normal 3×3 record at the end of the vid
I tried to read a math paper like this once. Some guys proved that you can divide by 3, using Set Theory, but without using the Axiom of Choice. It's a trivial result that we know is obviously true, but the one constraint there breaks the easy method, and you have to find a new theory, sometimes substantially more difficult. And you did that here. You theorized around not turning the Yellow side, and still derived how to solve the cube, which is great! You know how to solve a cube, and one little constraint on that task forced you to find some insightful new workarounds.
Very nice work!
Day 2 of asking Jperm:
so there are 2 types of 3x3 stages in which a 5x5 can be reduced into 1st is the normal one and 2nd is by turning 2 layers at once so your task is to reduce a 5x5 into the 2nd type of 3x3 stage I hope you accept this and good luck.
That's probably impossible for a human to do tho

Thanks for the idea (10:30 is a few seconds after what this comment is based on but I can’t see the exact time without it discarding the comment)

@@rivercape982 its the exact same as a u move u wide is the samde as d turns
Wow, that was really impressive! I love these challenges you do. For the next one, you could try to solve the cube without turning TWO sides. Here’s my suggestion:
You can’t turn two opposite sides on the cube (e.g. blue/green). This will restrict the number of solvable cases, so maybe at the start of the solve you can turn blue/green, but once you’ve solved the cross you can’t turn them anymore.
Will be cool to see how you approach this! It might actually make your F2L super fast considering you won’t have to make F/B moves 👀 and last layer will probably be super easy too for some reason. Hope you try it out!

@@williamdowling7718 So when he does s moves, doesn't that move the yellow center sticker ?
@@satyampanchal-1016 he doesn't rotate whichever face has the yellow center sticker. Sometimes he does a slice move to move the yellow sticker to a different t face so that he can rotate the side that the Yellow sticker was on. Then he slices it back.

Although it's probably faster to take the +2, if you really wanted to solve a single U turn end, you could just the algorithm the cube solver robot uses since it doesn't have an arm to turn U.
