- In my throwback interview with native candian, Denise Matthews, "aka" Vanity, she talks about why she walked away from former boyfriend Prince, and the fame and glory. Known for her image as a sex symbol in the 1980s, she became an evangelist and renounced her career as Vanity in the 1990s. R.I.P. Denise!

I love her energy. Such a beautiful, eloquent speaker especially when she speaks on forgiveness. She was bubbling over in joy & gratitude. I want this for my Christian walk. What a powerhouse for the kind of God even to this day. She is long gone but still touching lives.
To see people comment about her being eccentric is absurd. If it was OK to get wild & crazy for Satan them she can use that same zeal for the Kingdom of God. She is on fire and it's refreshing to see.

Ha haaa!! Hallelujah! Thank you for sharing this gem :) After praying to the Lord to show me 1 just 1 celebrity that truly came to Him for salvation, i found Denise Matthews, and boy what a joy it’s been since then to see the good fruit she bore. Unfortunately i found out about her i think three days before she died and didn’t get the chance to contact her to tell her how much joy it was to hear of her being born again.

I was a Teenager lady during the 1980s. Miss Denise Matthews ruled the 1980s. Mesmerizing the public with her Beauty and her music. She and Prince loved one another. However the fame, partying lifestyles and philandering behavior ruin their relationship. The two mesmerizing lovers journeyed on two Months apart from one another. They were both cremated and they are finally together again in the Spirit World.✨✨

Poor Denise, she was definitely experiencing a manic stage. I suffer from Bipolar disorder and have phases where I’m extremely talkative without pausing. The interviewer was very compassionate and patient throughout this interview with probably not understanding what was happening with her.
She isn't poor Denise but Blessed Minster Denise. Jesus saved her soul. She is now with our Savior in Heaven. Amen.

It's a defense mechanism from abuse. Once you decided you won't allow abuse anymore you become dominant. Very common among us Black women who are far too frequently taken for granted and abused
You can struggle with slight mental illness and still be telling the truth about God and be born again. Also sometimes there is residue from drug addiction and the torment of demons. Bothers me people make her relationship with God into a joke because of some of her issues.

There's a signed copy going for more than $1,000 online. There is a hardback version and a paperback version, and depending on which of those you get and if it's signed, the price varies. They are pretty scarce at this point. I keep hoping I will luck out and find one at someone's garage sale... someone who doesn't have any idea what the book is going for these days.
Its a very rare book now, there is only one copy on ebay for alot of money

Why do people always say that? There are people just like her who are on fire for Christ but never had any addictions so you can never say that to them so how would you know when it comes to her?

@@starrcompany3275 She is reflecting on her enemies here. She knows she's supposed to forgive them, but admits that's difficult. Because it IS. She has had some abusive people in her life that in reality, don't deserve forgiveness. This is the toughest part if Christianity.

I have seen lots of people preaching and/or teaching the scriptures and most of them come off like she does here. They're not on drugs, just super passionate about their message. I suppose one or two could be, but not the vast majority.

she grew.....growing takes time..she was a wise and measured woman as time went on. She helped a lot of people with her story of how God changed her life

I like her a lot but she was manic & hyper seems to still be on drugs in this interview….she’s talking like a drug head she couldn’t stay put in her chair .Well, she lived her life in the fast lane so sad for her what a lovely vessel that was wasted

This is just my personal opinion but I feel like that was the aftermath of her being on drugs. I highly doubt she was still doing them but I guess we'd have to read her book to know.

I think she is just super passionate about finding God and wanting to share her story with as many people as she can. But when she talks about being possessed by demons, I just don't know. She may be using "demons" to explain that which embarrassed her later in life. But I know that she nearly died and was in the hospital and prayed. Her life was spared - at least for awhile. She died young, life spans these days considered.
She's definitely much more lively and talkative in this video but all of her interviews post-enlightenment are like this one. She was waaaayy quieter and wasn't passionate about spreading a message during her glam years leading up to this interview. It was bc she was basically suicidal/depressed/insecure from her traumatizing childhood, was talking to demons (practiced witchcraft and psychic readings), and was on hard drugs long term with the wrong people. She talked ab how she would go crazy in her house and then put on a different persona whenever in front of a camera. I thought something was up bc before I learned that ab her, i thought she was ditzy and didn't have much personality. It all clicked when I saw how she behaved after she stopped putting up an act and hiding everything
