As much as I think the first Puss in Boots is still an underrated movie, it does look a little bit weird looking back it now compared to The Last Wish from the animation, the stakes, and the villain.
For me is the opposite, Puss's new look was a bit weird to me cuz I got used to his very realistic design. Still of course, last wish was great. Both are, just different life lessons.
yeah, but it doesn't really feel fair to slag a 12 year old animation for not having the same visual refinement and flare as a new one, not saying you did, just a lot of retrospective reviewers did after the sequel. I felt like I was taking crazy pills because duh 2011 Shrek era: ADJUST EXPECTATIONS BACK A DECADE! lol, but regardless for me as a whole Puss 2011 is a Solid 8/10, Last Wish is an epic 9.8/10
@@anasevi9456 Agreed. Just because The Last Wish is a masterpiece, it doesn't mean Puss 2011 is crap. It's still a good movie. In fact, I remember back in the day, a lot of people thought it was the best Shrek-franchise movie since Shrek 2. Despite the very different art styles, I think those two do form a nice duology. Puss 2011 shows us the "birth" of the legend and The Last Wish shows us the "death" of the legend. It's like poetry, it rhymes. I think the only thing that really bothered me about Puss 2011 was the half-assed inclusion of Jack & Jill in the climax after they were already revealed to be Humpty's hired help. Like, they looked like they were perfectly content with the payment they got. But all of the sudden they want to steal the goose. That was pretty lame.
Here's the real brilliance of Humptys ending: He didn't die. He became a golden egg for saving the baby. It was never his destiny to steal the golden eggs. It was his destiny to BE a golden egg.
I believe everyone should watch this movie first. Then you aren’t comparing it to the new one and can love it for what it is, then you can watch the new one and get hyped up about it 🤩 that’s what I did and it was all I could’ve asked for
This is one of the BEST spin off decisions EVER and I loved the movie so much that I was honestly skeptical of The Last Wish BECAUSE of the change of art style. I just felt like the whole Skrek-verse has a realism style so I was honestly hesitant on the decision to change it and basically take after the Into the Spider-Verse (as like a copy cat). I think this film still holds up, especially since it had Zorro vibes- drawing the Antonio parallel, with the splash of a heist movie.
Totally different flavor of movie that's for sure, reminds me of the jump from Thor The Dark World to Thor Ragnorok. Then again, Dreamworks almost always improves leaps and bounds from a solid first movie to an epic second one.
So glad you covered the first one too! Absolutely loved your reaction to the second one and I don't think I could've clicked faster when I saw this video!
I like this old animation but the new one that was used in the new Puss in Boots isn't terrible, but I did like Dreams works better before they changed the animation.
I liked it well enough, but not as much as Puss 2011. Even if Bad guys has vastly better animation besides the bean mouthed humans, besides key moments I cannot recall much of Bad Guys beyond liking it well enough. I watch either of the two Puss movies and I get hyped at times, Zootopia and Moana get me hyped, just Bad Guys is decent watch but that's it. Will prob rewatch because now that's bothering me.
So apparently, sometimes Jack and Jill can be either siblings or lovers depending on the story adaptation...to answer the real question: Jack and Jill are not siblings in this movie.
Looking back at the first Puss in Boots film, I could easily see the difference in animation style. The film is still a fun and enjoyable time, yes. But after seeing the beautiful quality of its follow up film, The Last Wish, it does look a bit off nowadays.
Actually, the original nursery rhyme doesn't say anything about them being siblings. I guess people just assumed they were, just like they assumed Humpty Dumpty was an egg. Man, the Puss movies have a thing for nursery rhyme antagonists, don't they? :P
Yeah this movie is so underrated as hell sure last wish is far the better movie but this one had a good story we learned a little of puss's past how he became an outlaw and also some of the action is really well done

Yep lol

Stp calling stuff underated at this point every movie doesn’t have to be main stream

It is so funny

Agreed
Ngl, the original puss in boots has a special place in my heart, and i like it just as much as puss in boots 2

I do still think it does. It's still good. I actually perfer the roughness of Puss' fur, but the story and such is better in the last movie
Technically at no point in the Humpty Dumpty song is he referred to as an egg that's nowhere in the song...makes me wonder where the notion came from
Couldn't put Humpty together is THE INDICATION, my friend!
I like this old animation but the new one that was used in the new Puss in Boots isn't terrible, but I did like Dreams works better before they changed the animation.
Eggs float when they are bad and it makes sense for Humpty to not sink since hes bad.
If you need another great Dreamworks movie to watch, I'd highly recommend the Bad Guys

Puss in boots (2011) was amazing
So apparently, sometimes Jack and Jill can be either siblings or lovers depending on the story adaptation...to answer the real question: Jack and Jill are not siblings in this movie.
Everyone always asks the same question, no, Jack and Jill *are not* related, they simply share a rhyme.
Looking back at the first Puss in Boots film, I could easily see the difference in animation style. The film is still a fun and enjoyable time, yes. But after seeing the beautiful quality of its follow up film, The Last Wish, it does look a bit off nowadays.
4:30 Bro goes for anyone I think
I was a junior in high school when this movie came out
1:50 well isn't Desperado a movie staring Selma Hayek and Antonio Banderas?
I Totally agree that Puss’s design was better in the 2nd movie. U should watch the movie called The Wild, it’s pretty nostalgic🔥
0:39 im sorry when I first look at this I think cg and a cat had a baby😅😂
peak in boots is goated
When you’re good to mama...MAMAAA IS GOOOOOD TO YOOOOOOOU!!!!
Jack and Jill aren’t siblings in this

Quality quality quality ❤❤❤
In my opinion pus In boots 2011 is the best movie in shrek franchise
Yeah this movie is so underrated as hell sure last wish is far the better movie but this one had a good story we learned a little of puss's past how he became an outlaw and also some of the action is really well done
In the grand scheme of things, I think the only stinker in the Shrek franchise is Shrek the Third. Everything else ranges from good to great.
Nice job Elite Ginger.
I still prefer this realistic style to The Last Wish, but TLW is so much better written.
Awesome!
WiLLy wANka
You should watch Alice in borderland I think it's way better than squid games
Watch the rest of the shrek movies now
He already reacted to the first two Shrek films, but actually has not yet watched Shrek the Third and Forever After.
@@nicolasbaron4506 I know he needs to finish the series
