    The beauty of multiracial society. Ya keindahan masyarakat majmuk menjadi tarikan pelancung2. Itulah keistimewaan Malaysia. Ada masakan Melayu diadaptasi/disuaikan/diubahsuai kepada cara masakan nyonya/Cina, begitu juga sebaliknya. Hopefully through all the delicious recipes, we learn other races culture. God bless Malaysia 🙏🙏🙏

    Peranakan literally means "son born locally". History suggest that a princess came from China to marry a malay prince here in Malaysia and so their children became "Peranakan". So there are many peranakans here like Peranakan Jawi, Peranakan Serani etc. Peranakan Baba/Nyonya is first given to ppl locally living in the straits (Malacca area) and it's become a culture since the straits is the main port for many foreigners around the world and its rich history of combining cultures of the world with the locals throughout time has solidly given birth to a generation of Peranakan Baba (for males) and Peranakan Nyonya (for females)

    • @ThomasThomas-be4sn
      @ThomasThomas-be4sn 2 года назад +1

      I beg to differ on the criteria. Why? U don't have locally borned indian called peranakan! Hence it's only reserved for descendants of Chinese females married to the Malay males ..yet they're not forced to be converted into Muslims as at that time the politics & religious masters are not that powerful or evil to control other pple way of life.
      After many generations u can even have baba/ nyonyas having Chinese surname or even Christian names. Strangely enough they don't adopt Malay style name convention of bin/binti.

But if you do come across in the nyonya restaurants here in PJ, do try them out :)
