"I hope i not ruin the model as usual" - dude, i've been watching all your videos for more than one year now, you did not ruin anything!
Since i saw his bf109 f4 vid i used his wheatering technique on all of my models and never achieved better results
@@arnaudborne6904 I would gladly buy any of his ruined kits
Rui Romao best modeller on u tube without a shadow of a doubt.
make it 3 years for me... same opinion!
His attention to detail in painting parts in his order shows his artistry..
That's not a model. That's a work of art!
It's beyond my comprehension, how some of these RUclips model builders just pop these things into existence. Wow, is all I can say.
A piece of jewelry..
I have this kit on my shelf..no pressure eh?
My 11 year old son has just finished his first solo model, a 1/72 unmarked P51d . A very good first solo!
So we watched this video together today and now he wants a second P51d and try to emulate some of your techniques.
I think you have inspired my son more than I could ever have!
Thank you David for your uploads, best amongst the best on RUclips.
How’s his modeling journey gone?
@@bluebooooo7165 Hi there!
He enjoyed making a few aircraft and 1/72 tanks. He has a nice technique.
But!
He’s now at that age where girls have appeared on the scene……….!
However, we do spend time together and he’ll make a Gundam with me whilst I get frustrated with photoetch!
I recently started the baseboard for an N Gauge railway and he enjoyed the practicalities of the designing, cutting, glueing etc.
Maybe when I start laying track he’ll give me a hand with that too.
Here’s hoping 😊
Thank you for your interest, I’ll show him your message.
It’s very kind of you.
Ian
If he wants a second P-51 try to skip the Eduard kits they might be a little too difficult however they are usually awesome kits and extremely specific for P-51Ds, other brands to go to for P-51Ds are Tamiya and Hasegawa. You can’t go wrong with the eduard kits though.
Maybe start with a tamiya one or hasegawa one
@@coletoliver3977 Hi, Thanks for thé advice😊 Thé Tamiya one is beautiful.
He’s since moved onto Gundam models but is thinking about dioramas for them.
Very kind of you to comment, Merci ☺️
No wife, no kids, alone at home , a cold beer, and one of your videos to enjoy. This is it Bro!
I'm with you on that!... except that I don't have a cold beer... and I do have a wife and kids... and they're at home now, but at least I can sit and enjoy one of David's videos.
*Everthing will be ok, at least i hope*
Damek, David

David speaking to us all
Brilliant modeling. Brilliant narration. So thankful for this channel.
This is now the quote for 2020

I was thinking about making model planes after a gap of 40+ years. I have watched a couple of your videos and they are simply inspiring!
Just a tip with clear parts: if you want a finer polish you can use toothpaste. It has a slight amount of grit in it which is probably finer than anything you can find in polishing compound. I've used it many times on acrylic pieces that I've made. With a buffing wheel it does an amazing job!
Have you ever tried using bicarb of soda? The reason I ask is that I've heard of people using it for oral care as it is even less abrasive than many toothpastes.
I honestly think you are the best modeller on RUclips!👍
I really liked the new aluminum weathering technique, looks totally realistic!
Your videos are the best of their kind, in my opinion. Very enjoyable.
I had to pick my jaw of the floor after watching this. I found myself saying "OMG!" repeatedly as David added a new detail, e.g., the wires in the landing gear, the antenna, the invasion stripes, the cockpit details, the wheel wells, the weathering. I don't think there is another person on Planet Earth who can build a model like PLASMO. Genius.
It's amazing that with all your expertise, youre still pioneering new techniques to add extra realism. These really are spectacular works of art.
Amazing work as always. Couple things 1) those drop tanks were never re-used or taken back to base. they are made from paper and the fuel started eating at the glue the moment it was put in. If they have to abort, they still dropped tanks and it was against regs to land with them. 2) ETO mustangs used the SCR 522 radio set that did not have use and antenna wire. Only MTO/PTO mustangs did. Loved the build! Can't wait until mine arrives!
Seth, as much of a WWII airplane buff as I am, I did not know that about it being against regs to bring the the tanks back. Thank you for that! Of course I knew about the paper tanks.
So few know about the lack of antenna wire on these 8th AF Mustangs. Thanks for helping spread the word.
Many thanks for that info Seth, it's good to know for my build of this bird
Seth Itschner not all of them were paper, most USAAF drop tanks were metal.
James Davey The smaller 75 gallon tanks with the teardrop shape were certainly metal. This kit’s tanks represent 108 gallon paper tanks with clear silver doped surfaces. Saved some weight and strategic resources.
Your videos are pure art, to watch them is highly relaxing for me. Also, i am very impressed of your modelling skills...everytime. Keep on growing.
Me too, I often rewatch his videos multiple times, just because it's such a pleasure, David is a huge inspiration for me :)
@@XZasCC I subscribed because you are good at modeling. Better than me, at least.
@@jordyncollier919 to me? Thank you if so haha
@@XZasCC yes too you.
@@jordyncollier919 oh, thank you very much, that means a lot :)
Everytime I watch your videos I am really amazed by your skills and how you put the bar to another level. And everytime I am just thinking that I am not a modeller but just gluing plastic parts together....
less that 1% of model builders would have created the glass gauge covers like you did. A master among masters you are.
14:15 !! Dude in the background really named his fighter “Stinky” lmao!! 😂 imagine being a German ace and having your career ended by Stinky!!!
Lol good catch
>dream of becoming a pilot and soaring above the clouds
>train your whole life
>wartime
>now's your chance to prove your worth
>watch friends you've trained beside slowly die one by one in combat
>become one of the greatest pilots in your battalion
>fellow and enemy airmen speak of you in hushed tones
>you are an ace
>on patrol mission
>"Stinky"
>die screaming in burning wreck
Life of an Ace
Once again you set the bar for modelling skill and inspiration. Stunning work.
Agree, I set it for lowest ;) haha
P51 is like a sardine fish.
But this is a great craft and the skill of the master who created it.
awesome work I love the mustang I have not done any model aircraft building for over 45 years but some of the kits now are brilliant thankyou for sharing your build your attention to detail is really good.
the fact that you explain everty step and product makes it so much enjoyable. An inspiration for other modelers, as always !
Well said, David is a huge inspiration for me, of course he's on a complete different level than me, but I enjoy what I do :)
I was going to say “Job well done” until I saw almost at the end that you took the time to plumbed the wheel wells. Now I say “Fantastic!”
This might be the best instructional video on how to use metal paints.
I know I am late to the party, but awesome work, always one of my fav plans of the WW2 Era. Looks Great
Wow, in all my young decades of model building, and even now, I've seen it all, but you David Damek are simply the best in the world.
Danno, in my 60 years of modeling, Plasmo and certainly Rojas Bazan are the Masters, though their expertise is night and day..
He said to give motivation lol. After seeing that I don’t want to build anything rather watch you building them 😂
It’s mesmerizing to watching you build a P-51...👍
You have inspired me to weather my 20 year old silver Mustang ,( I am 68 .) thanks David, I am pleased with the result ! Wales UK.
Easily my favorite build and weathering job you have done so far. Bravo!
Had to give up model making due to parkinson's but love to watch you make them now.
Fabulous! Congratulations! This is truly the BEST MODEL I have ever seen on RUclips. Looks ABSOLUTELY REAL! I don't think anyone can do better...
You clearly understand what you are doing......thanks for sharing.
Absolutely stunning work. You made it look very life like. Some people go over the top with weathering but your P51 looks perfect. Great job
I often ruin my models, I ruined the bismarck I made by o er weathering it, and it also had a chemical reaction to the clear coat and went foggy, but even after I ruined it, its still the one I'm most proud of haha
Mediocre Modelling it’s very easy to go a bit to far. Sometimes I find doing small amounts and coming back to the model after a few hours, with a fresh look at it, really helps to not go to far with it. At the end of the day it’s YOUR model and if you’re happy with it then it’s all that matters 🙂
Perfect timing! I just sat down with my dinner.
Lunch for me!
Breakfast for me
(I'm in India)
Having a shit for me
@@XZasCC watching this while taking a shit is honestly the best thing that u van do
just love a model thats not clean. clean models look like toys.. phenomenal work man
Miss Steve did not have an antenna attached, as with virtually all ETO P-51s and most MTO birds as well. I have photos I'd be happy to send of the actual Miss Steve if you want. But a solid overall effort David!
You have truly been blessed with incredible modeling and artistic abilities. Beautiful piece of art.
I love that you still paint warhammer minis, would be amazing to see a Valkyrie in this P-51 colour scheme!
Superior craftsmanship!
I used to build models for architects. I can appreciate your skills.
I am very curious to see the creations of those people who put thumbs down!!!!!!!! however, your every creation is a work of art!! Thanks
Piece of art... thank you David, you’re an inspiration!
I love the weathering technique you came up with. Scratching the varnish! Brilliant, dude! :)
"-I hope I won't ruin the model as usual" mate your works are just perfect
Your skills and videos are second to none! Such great entertainment.
All of your models turn out to be excellent, keep up the good work and hope keep presenting awesome models to this comunity

You sir are incredible!!! Your product belongs in a museum display at their intricate accuracy and beauty. Wow!!
You sir, are an artist. As Iv'e mentioned before, it is my personal humble opinion that there is no one better than you on U-tube. The first video I ever had the pleasure of watching was of your B=17 build, which coincidentally is my favorite aircraft of all time. Unfortunately, I now suffer from Parkinsons so building models is out of the question for me. I certainly would love to have one you built. Especially one like your FW-190. Keep up the outstanding work.
Great job, I’m a new sub, love how you distress your builds to make them look original, your techniques are tops...
Wow very nice kit, and beautiful work. Your channel is my favorite on youtube! Perfect timing for my lunch too....
Sir,
Two words spring to mind right now when I watch you do your magic:
Inspiration , and
Roll Model.
Dude, the way you painted this model gave me goosebumps lol. That looks like a REAL fucking airplane...Such a beautiful job mate. Great video!
Been watching your channel for short time now and founf this model to be one of the best I've seen. Great work and realism...
He's amazing isn't he? I've been watching him for around a year and he's one of my biggest inspirations, my builds are bad though
"Hlavně bacha na aquaplaning" :D Miniac sent me here, zero regrets, 10/10 would subscribe. Also, if anyone wanted to know what Czech accent is,... this.
Now I build the Italeri P 51D. Thanks for the tips, especially weathering. Amazing job.
My favorite warbird! Simply superb, as always! Who are the jerks that could possibly give this thumbs down?
You just made my Sunday Afternoon Plasmo 👍👍 I've been dying for a new video.
Turned out beautiful, can't wait to see what you do next. Kind of hoping for another large scale ship build like the Bismarck build, thats been my favorite build so far.
I've tried watching other modelers but none can compare to the detail and effort you put into yours. Love the channel!
try Ebroin Song!
J’adore tes vidéos continue comme ça
Very nice. Weathering looks realistic rather than overdone like others.
I am an artist who specializes in black and white drawings of fighter aircraft, and make no mistake, the P-51 Mustang is my favorite. Like you, I take great pains with the tiny details which, I believe, make the image come to life. This is a real work of art. For me, you brought that little pile of plastic to life. Marvelous work.
Nice job, very satisfying to watch.
It looks like it has just landed. You can even feel the heat from the engine)
Fantastic a really magnificent and realistic weathering job A great inspiration Congratulations
So relaxing to watch. Thank You
Absolutely incredible! That's all iv got to say. ❤️
No modifications... ?!? I'm surprised 😉. It looks beautiful as always. I'm always looking forward to your videos! Good work Sir !
Incredible attention to detail. A real pleasure to watch.
I have to say sir, that your attention to the fine details on the aircraft...were marvelous. I used to build models with my dad, when I was much younger...and I thought the work we did was good. But this, is on a whole different level. Loved watching the process. Great video.
The "Cadillac of the sky" is now the "Modelling Cadillac of RUclips" :)
I am building a 1/72 Canadair Cl-415... All was looking good until now
Yes, that’s the downside to watching this chap, he make us all look like amatures.
I’m doing a 1/48 P51D 5
Deserves more views and subscribers. A fan from Malaysia here 💯
outstanding work! long live to the P51 Mustang
I was looking forward to see next video :)
Still waiting for B-17 crashed in the lake with 44-6117 LG-Q on the side, like I suggested few months ago :>
This video is a gift. I come back to it when I feel sad or wishful.
Vau ta palubní deska byla Teda detailní a jinak pěkná práce
Who else watches just for pure entertainment and enjoyment
Please do the Heinkel 177 Greif!!! such an awesome plane! greetings from germany
I just got done building the same plane but smaller and I did a paint job they would use for shows and I always love coming here to watch plasmo build the same plane but paint it better
This is INSANELY awesome. Much of my childhood was spent building plastic models of all sorts and balsa wood planes. It kept me entertained for years, but never did I finish them anywhere near this. I am so impressed, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this build. Excellent!
I really like how you captured the weathering effect chipping the acrylic flat over the natural metal - the tonal difference is very realistic IMO. When you sprayed the layer of Mr Hobby H20 what was it thinned with ? also when you chipped this back with a tooth pick was it done dry or did you use alcohol or acrylic thinner to help loosen the H20 Clear flat to chip easier? I really like the finish you achieved esp the NMF and its subtle weathering - very hard to pull off and you nailed it! Those oil streaks are also on point! Stunning model as always David thanks for sharing can't wait to get mine to build (will be building several)
Always amazes me how highly you've honed your skills... Meanwhile I'm here with my mediocre modelling skillz
Your work demonstrates your evolving mastery of this fine hobby! Thank you for taking the time and making the significant effort to provide your growing modeling audience with not only the finished examples of your labors but also detailed explanations of your imaginative and resourceful techniques. Outstanding Eduard 1/48 P-51D!!!
Bravissimo!!!
I have no words to describe how good this is. I literally ran out of words.
Wonder how many kits this vid will sell for Eduard...hope they gave it to you!
Great stuff, as always
PLASMO moves a piece 0.0000000001cm from the model
PLASMO: I ruined it
LOL
I swear I'll never do that at home ever, that's what this video made me think.
But it's also successful to make me subscribe your channel.
What a piece of art.
This is probably my next kit. Not this one exactly, but the 'Korea' Dual combo ones. You've helped me a lot.
"Hlavně bacha na aquaplaning" :DDDDd
"Hlavně bacha na akvaplaning..." 😂😂😂
I've watched two awesome vids of this model build. Yours and SCALE MODEL AIRCRAFT. Great model and please keep them coming!!

"Hlavně bacha na aquaplaning" which would freely translate to: "Just watch out for aquaplaning" :) Btw, if you dont know what aquaplaning is, look it up, quite useful to know ;)
Lmao
Another exceptional film, David, one of the best you have done for photography and editing, I think. I like the super close-ups, it must be awkward to film, especially with the risk of shadows. Superb
That's my first visit on this marvelous channel and beside the obvious model building skills I could not ignore your superb taste in music..!
Its great that you can come back to these videos... Working with metal paints was always pain in the read end. I have new Revell Razor Crest in my hands that I would like to make this year... So videos like these will always help to refresh how to work with this stuff
P51 Cadillac of the skies. My fav and very, very well done.
Another breathtaking build. Weathering is world-class. Thank you for the inspiration!
It's always a pleasure to watch you work, and I'm learning a huge amount from your expertise. Thank you for sharing your skills and methods! In this video, I especially appreciated your idea of scratching the clear varnish, so that the details are only visible from certain angles. Very clever, and effective.
That aluminum reflection weathering is something to write home about. Wow.
