  • When I found an old cassette with some recordings of my grandmother playing the piano, this was first an emotional moment. Few months later, I thought I might create music using some parts of her recordings. Of course and first, I made a tape loop, then thanks to a new piece of gear, the Arturia Microfreak and it's Sample function added to the V5 firmware, I was able to sample a note from her piano recording and to play with its original sound ....

Really nice ideas... very creative.... love the cassette loop idea in a 4 track!
I remember many years ago a friend made me a nice improv piano CD.. just a one off.. but the CD stopped working many moons ago (CD disk rot) and I've not been able to listen to it for 20 years... and the sad thing is my friend passed away 5 years ago. To think an old cassette from the 70s/80s has lasted longer speaks volumes.
