@@FriedTapeRoll yeah, I'm unsure about it tbh. The timing is right but the pitch is off, I'm going to try it through the ring-mod on the quadraverb and see if that smooths things out
I hadn’t given much thought to the bubbly bubbly at the opening I just kinda assumed it was Richard saying it. As for the chair squeak it’s always sounded more like a heavy metal door or gate. Delightful reconstruction at any rate.
Apparently he used a wireless microphone inside the rusty ammo can, so it was possibly the sound of the lid being taken off. It has natural reverb (from inside the tin) that makes it sound like it was recorded in a tunnel or corridor. The "bubbly" speech was probably RDJ himself mumbling into the same microphone rather than sampling something off the telly (like he did with other tracks).

About a year ago I downloaded a load of Emulator II samples and spent about 38 minutes just playing samples in the "Sick Day" folder while pretending I was Matthew Broderick taking a day off school. These small things make life almost bearable.
One of my favourite things by Aphex, this rhythm is a perfection! Like it was created with found percussion in mind! Everyone should think outside of the box and apply something else than overused 808s. Once I used the sound of two pulled out wisdom teeth being struck, so even that useless stuff may find its place in the universe 😂
Matmos did this throughout their entire record “A Chance to Cut Is a Chance to Cure”. Most of the sounds were from surgeries, liposuction, bone saws and hearing tests.
it reminds me of right in the springtime when you start getting stir crazy indoors thats when i was learning music production wondering how these synth sounds were made
I grew up as a teen playing on loads of synths, convinced if I learned enough I'd be a huge musician. I've not touched them 'really' for years now - far too busy with work. But this video, the tweaking, the fun of finding out how a sound is made - the general 'farting around' and experimenting.... man, I escaped reality and had a blast. Really wish I could dive into this hobby again. I'm very jealous of all the knowledge and skills you've got - it's obvious your passionate. Thanks for the content mate, really cheered me up.
let's make a deal. if you don't start using that gear again and keep up excuses not to, you have to give it away to somebody who deserves it. somebody who hasn't the luxury of stashing gear. so if you don't want to loose a bunch of gear use it. f work. i mean once again if you have the luxury of stashing gear, you must have enough money, so work less. wanna die thinking on your deathbed wishing this or that? feel that sh***y feeling in your gut? good, that is your common sense telling there is more in life. and skills? f that to. have fun and forget time.

Thank you! I know exactly what you mean... life gets in the way of just sitting down and messing about with kit, usually because we're under so much pressure to 'be productive', and it's a really difficult thing to give yourself permission to just fart around with no particular aim in sight. Part of the reason I started doing these was just to try and switch off from all the other stuff that's going on, and to try to justify the rack of bad gear that's been gathering dust!
get back into it! the world needs to hear whatever music youve got inside of you, same for everyone. if you miss farting around with the equipment, do it!
