I have been telling people for ages NOT to listen guitar(s) alone because they would be too dark and mid heavy for the mix, especially when you quad track them.. That was great observation and extremely useful, cheers!
Isn't it the other way around? A scooped guitar tone sounds more impactful and exciting alone but a mid-focused (and darker in solo) guitar tone is heard better in a full mix? I'm new to this and confused by the varying opinions.
@@GaijinMo not even close…. You don’t need NEAR the midrange you think you do. Guitars in metal these days have PLENTY of midrange in their setups. Let’s take a look at a typical setup: 5150( tons of midrange) with an 808 boost ( more midrange) into a Mesa recto cab with V30s ( big mid spike) mic’d with a 57 ( mid focused)… the last thing you need to do is “boost your midrange”. Mixing is much different than playing live. And also, most guitars are far far FAR too dark to be applied to a modern metal mix. You’d be surprised to hear just how much high end solo’d guitars have that are in a heavy modern mix. There’s tons of RUclips examples of solo’d guitars that show this. Listen to slipknots psychosocial solo’d guitars here on RUclips. Bet you didn’t think they had that much high end.
After I watched this and your Mooer 005 video I just needed to try these excellent IR with the Mooer Radar and the micro 005. Sounds insanely good when recording. It's crazy when the total cost is around 250 euro or something for these three units. Keep up the good work with this channel and hyvää kiitos! 🤘🍻
Bought this pack today. Sounds sick I must say! Tried them with Kemper and also with pedalboard, tube amp, loadbox, daw combo. Works nicely with everything. Kiitti Euge hyvästä videosta!
Very helpful video and great tones as usual! I’ve bought this pack and I think it’s great, the guitars sound unbelievably full when tracking. How do you use those IR’s in a live show situation? Any little tweak on lows & highs?
I`m interested in those IR`s but not sure if I want to pick`em, I already have like a 1000 Ir`s free and (Redwire, Ownhammer, etc) paid and haven`t yet to find "that" tone (s). Bogren says his collection is different for that matter but what could possibly be different in Ir`s... not bad tone here though, you play tight, kick and snare are too loud in my monitors though, they push guitars to background imho
They’re great! Kinda like EQ:d to fit in the mix. I’ve been using basically ”Sound of God EQ2” on everything lately: rhythms, leads & cleans. Just recorded an album and used a few different amps but only that one IR. The first single coming out next month. Strong recommendation for that pack 🤘👍.
@@EugeValovirta230V oh, so they`re mixed ready and no need to EQ, that`s cool. I`ll definitely check them, thanks! There are other instruments waiting for me to Eq them lol
Hello Euge, sorry for bothering you with my stupidity, but I could need some help. I am trying to load the Bogren IR´s onto the Suhr RL IR like you are using them. I haven´t loaded any third party IR´s onto the Suhr before. I have followed (several times now) like it says in the manual, choosing the 24 bit 48 kHz IR´s, dragging them each into the before cleaned up folders, pressing "eject" for the Suhr RL on the computer, then disconnecting the USB cable and then disonnecting the power cable for about 3 seconds. But when I try the Suhr the with my amp then, I only hear the direct nasty amp signal then on those spot where the new installed Bogren IR´s would supposed to be then. When I connect the Suhr back again to the computer, all the Bogren IR´s can still be seen where I put them inside the folders, but they are not functioning when I play through them. Any idea what my mistake might be? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! :)
Not at all man! I had the same experience 😁. Just send an email to Bogren (I believe it’s on their website) and they’ll send you versions that works with the Suhr 😎👌.
Not unfortunately but these work on everything IMO and I use these from country to metal 👌. And it’s more about what & how one plays anyway than the gear. Well mostly anyways 😎. Throw a BOSS HM-2 first in the signal chain and everything sounds old school death metal 😊.
Oh... IR's sounds great but... there is no miracle( One more point to experience that i've bought for the 66euros. I know how that's sound, but it is non-sweet true, your still need a lot of good stuff for all rest of your sound chain
Sure! Here's a few I've been using: - Ownhammer Heavy Hitters Collection 1: www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=183&products_id=382 There's four cabs, each with 3 different speaker options, so you get sounds / IRs for all kinds of styles from a bit more vintage to a really tight metal. - Ownhammer (r)Evolution Series 412 MRCB - 1970's Marshall 4x12 with a Celestion V30 speakers: www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=192_201&products_id=455 This is the one I've been probably using the most. Suits for everything 'cos it's a classic combination being used in rock / metal. ML Sound Lab's Hair Metal pack: ml-sound-lab.com/collections/frontpage/products/mars-hair-metal-cab-pack This can be a bit scooped and "muddy" ('cos of the G12-T75 speakers) but suits well with a bright amp and the name is pretty self explanatory :-) I haven't tried this one but should work really well for what you're looking for: ml-sound-lab.com/collections/frontpage/products/cab-pack-for-destruction Classic Marshall with V30's

😊👍. I’ve only used a bit low pass filter every now & then if I’ve felt that there’s too much ”high freq air” but other than that nothing else.
