Her calming movements on his chest to help him relax 🥺 shes seems so nice and understanding. As a Black Nuerodivergent person myself it makes my inner child happy. Donated! I hope Takesha sees this. In Colorado where I live we have a robust Medicaid waiver program for children with disabilities that provides TONS of services for kids (speech therapy, occupational therapy, respite care for parents, help with housekeeping, massage therapy, what I do for work which is music therapy, and tons more). If the fundraiser makes enough and she's willing to move states she could get a ton of help for Massiah. As a music therapist, I'd love to have him as a client! He's so musical and sweet. You'd have to first move here, establish residency, find and contact your local Community Centered Board and apply for the Home and Community Based Services - Child Extensive Services waiver for him. There's a bit of a waiting list, but more in the order of months to a year versus three years. Often, therapists can come to your home or you can go to them. Good luck. You are truly a queen Takesha and Messiah is your prince he is so adorable and you are raising him well with a great self-esteem mindset.

Hi Takesha. As an autistic person I just want to let you know what a great mother you are! I just made a donation. I hope you and Massiah will soon be in better surroundings with the support you both need and deserve. Massiah is a charming young man who will thrive in the right environment.
I work with autistic children and I see first hand just how hard their lives can be simply because they're a bit different. I have seen this community perform miracles over and over and I have no doubts that we can pull together to change things for this amazing family too. So much love to both Takesha and Massiah!!!
I unfortunately don’t have any money I can currently donate, but if his mom reads this, it’s important. I myself am an autistic girl with behavioral ‘issues’, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many people out there are harsh enough to be like those neighbors. Because he’s not visually disabled, people are horrible to children who are having trouble doing what other children can. What I CAN say is that little boy is loved, and he knows it. My parents growing up would just completely scream or degrade me when I showed those behaviors, as compared to this WONDERFUL woman here who treats his son with respect. She knows her son, and she is very clearly doing all she can to make sure he is happy and healthy, and it shows! I really hope that she can get not only the money to make sure he’s okay, but the support as well. That is incredible!
She needs to be with a support group with other mothers of autistic kids. She needs assistance with a house and big backyard fenced in for freedom to jump and move around.
Instead of spending $5-7 a day on coffee or food, we could be donating that towards families like this and helping each other. They deserve the best. ❤
@@kerigirl711 People should be able and have a right to enjoy their coffee or whatever they want! Helping people yes but telling people to do this for unfortunate people and taking away their joys of coffee etc is just wrong!! Just ask for help and that's it ! @@nikkinonames5265 I think you’re taking the comment a little too literally and seriously/missing the underlying point. But I do understand what you’re saying. It’s meant to be a mindful comment, not telling anyone what to do.
There are many autistic children in Japan and many videos. I can see how much effort and patience it took for her to get him to communicate so well. I wish you both happiness from afar.
it doesnt take a child psychology degree to see that massiah is incredibly smart, compassionate, and engaged in his surroundings. in a fairer world, him and his mom would have a chance to live in a home without anyone around or underneath them to be bothered by the way he plays and interacts with the world. it is so amazing that his mother is this forward-thinking and adaptive to his symptoms, and such a shame that even with all her understanding, theres still abusive anti-autistim sentiments being hurled at them from their community. i hope someday soon they get to thrive in a beautiful place just for them, healthy and carefree ❤❤❤
What a sweet boy. He reminds me a lot of my son who has Williams syndrome. There are some characteristics which can be similar to Autism. He talked late but his language took off after that. He was always a bundle of energy and sought out a lot of vestibular input…lots of jumping around. He could also be incredibly sweet. Messiah is absolutely not a bad kid. He is awesome. Mom is awesome.
Education is the key. My daughter has Autism and she was being bullied at school. What she decided to do was make an information page about herself and her autism. She gave one to every teacher, child, parent, neighbour and family member. The attitude towards her changed and she started being invited to parties etc. Some people are just ignorant to the condition due to a lack of education.
That kid is LITERALLY awesome. He's got a genius ear, you can tell when he's mimicking Chris. Obviously a great sense of movement and spatial intelligence. And great social skills in my opinion. That was so sweet how he spoke of his mom, it's like he knows when to lift her up. What a smile! Plus he's already absorbing science; I think he can go farrrrr. I'm on public assistance too, so can someone who wasn't gonna donate possible throw them a few dollars for me?? My heart goes out to them.
2:54 breaks my heart that people would ever tell her that she’s a bad mother. I work in a SH self-contained classroom with 14 children with varying levels (most severe) of autism/developmental disorders and my heart always goes out to these parents. It is NOT easy, I only have the kids for a few hours a day and have many other adults around to help. The parents really do the heavy lifting at home to make these kids such a joy to work with. They’re my favorite population of students, their ability to love is unconditional and their energy is unmatched. I hope this mother knows we’re rooting for her and her boy!
As soon as I heard her mention Hurricane Ida I immediately knew she was from down south, although not said, but likely Louisiana. We have such little accessible resources for so many of our families. Some many regions of our state keeps getting hit and devastated by all of these hurricanes and recovery takes so long for things to return back to normal. My heart & prayers goes out to this sweet mama & Massiah. Although not much, I did donate. Best wishes for this family!!!
YES QUEEN!!! Single mom of two, one autistic, here. I SO feel you!! YOU ARE DOING MARVELOUSLY!!! I'm so sorry you haven't the support you both need and DESERVE. If you'd like an ear, an outlet, support - respond pls? There's SO MUCH in my heart for you! LOVE YOU QUEEN!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Takesha, From one mother of a beautiful, loving, smart and kind autistic boy to another, you are a WONDERFUL mother. Our boys are perfect. NEVER let anyone tell you otherwise. Much love.
Why does he feel that way? What does he say? (Either verbally, body language, context, or with AAC) I’m glad he has a safe way to let out the [frustration?], but I hope he is able to ask to make the environment more accommodating for himself so it happens less.
Have you try inositol (vitamin B8) in high dose? It can help with those. Working with a naturopath nutritionist specialist in autism could help. Low sugar diet. I suggest you to look into Healthy omegas 3 fats to calm the nervous system. GABA to calm the mind. B6 P5p. Etc. 💓
I can't donate, but I can boost the algorhythm by commenting! Thank you so much for making these videos, it's very healing to see someone just genuinely treat disabled people like equals (because we are), rather than the constant prejudice we face. Please keep doing what you're doing
Me too I'm liking comments and replying to others hoping engagement will help the algorithm..I have my own conditios that I don't even know how to use a visa 😢
Mama I see you & I hope you see this. I have a 7 yr old & 4yr old on the spectrum & it's hard! You are in an unfair & tough spot but you're loved & your son is wonderful. Never give up you got this! ❤
As someone who has autism but isn't super high on the spectrum, I have been diagnosed and I love watching your channel to relate to people like Massiah even though he's higher on the spectrum.
Chris, this was an extra special interview. I know with all of our help, they will be in a safe environment where Massiah can be himself and his incredible mother can feel some relief from such stress. I'm so grateful you were brave enough to answer the calling for your life by bringing us these stories so we can support one another.
autistic here, and i just want to say to Takesha, you are such an incredible mother. so many of us, especially those of us with higher support needs, have such awful experiences with caregivers. it means so much to me, and i'm sure to Massiah as well, that you want to encourage him to be himself, that you recognise how his disability impacts him and also love him for who he is. being poor and disabled is so incredibly hard, and never recognised. society is failing us. we struggle because we're disabled, but being poor, and having no support, no accommodations, makes things so much harder. just want to say that i think you're doing wonderfully, you've raised such a beautiful kid, and you're not alone.
I really feel for the mom. My son wasn’t autistic but he had ADHD. Most teachers don’t have the patience for children that are harder to teach. Before my son was diagnosed the teachers would pull me aside every day when I went to pick him up. It made me feel like I was failing as a mother. My son was high energy. He couldn’t sit still and I was a mom with low energy due to an autoimmune disease. It’s not an easy life but we love our children and we push through it. I’m sending them love.❤️🙏
My teachers gave kids exercise balls to sit on in class when I was in high school, having adhd, I sat on them often because I couldn’t sit still. Loved it
I work with special education and this is one of the most caring supportive mothers I've seen with a special needs child. I try my best to make the kids feel like they belong but I know their parents don't do that. It makes me very sad I wish all my kids had mom's like you!
Takesha is a wonderful mother! I am autistic and I can see she cares about him and doesn't try to supress his stimming and thats a good think. I do lots of stimming like rocking back and forth, pacing, vocalizations and such. You can tell Massiah is such a smart kid. I had struggles in elementary school and now I am going to college (one of the first in my family) for double major in math and computer science and physics minor and I do lots of robotics! Anything is possible with the right support!
Did my part! Its a privilege and a blessing being able to donate to the less fortunate, 🥹🥹🥹God bless this mom and her son and also the people who donated! 🙏🏾❤️
I’m not able to donate at the moment, but I’m sending good thoughts to Massiah and Takesha and hope they’ll be able to move to a much better place soon. And thank you to everyone who can donate! I love how kind and generous the SBSK community is.
This was heartbreaking to watch because as a mom I just feel for Takesha so much. I hope she knows there is a better housing situation on the horizon and so many people who understand what she is going through and how wonderful her son is! The love Massiah has for his mom is beautiful and tells you how much love she gives to him. I wish all the best for this little family! I donated what I could and I’m hoping the goal is met soon so they can enjoy their life together 💜
I know how frustrating it is to have people not understand the disability of others. My BF has a rare illness and his parents and sister just think hes lazy and crazy despite seeing proof of his issues. Its exhausting to try explain over and over again that he cant help what's happening and they just don't care and continue to call him crazy.
Oof, I feel that. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy at 23 and was asleep during school and after school. My mom thought I was lazy and avoiding chores. At one point, I was on 9 meds and 7 supplements for mental health issues alongside that, so I was always asleep. 'Lo and behold, years and years later, when her ex-husband was diagnosed with Bipolar, she suddenly took an interest. She apparently forgot I was diagnosed and rediagnosed with the same starting age 13. Some people are just too... simple to understand the intricacies of things beyond what they've experienced.
I’m disabled and I know the struggle. I’ve learned to not even entertain people like that. They’ll never understand and they don’t want to, best to leave them alone to live in ignorant bliss. People like that just drag everyone down.
Takesha, for what it’s worth I think you’re doing a highly commendable job. Lord knows it isn’t easy raising children today, no matter what if any conditions or ailments they may have. And to do it alone is twice as difficult. The positive influence you’re exerting over Massiah’s formulative years is not to be underestimated. He’ll no doubt always have some challenges here and there with the autism, but you’re instilling him with the best possible qualities, molding and shaping his personality in fantastic ways. When he grows up and is able to articulate his thoughts better as an adult, you’ll receive a fine reward when he explains how much he values you. I wish there were more mothers in the world with your level of dedication-the world would likely be a better place.
You are a phenomenal mother and he is a living angel. You are both beautiful souls and if you have not been told he is perfect and so are you. Stay strong 💪🏿 stay perfect. The love you give him and the love he gives you and everyone else is a lesson to us all. I’m a mom of a living angel with autism too and I feel you completely. You are never alone and never will be. We as parents of these stunning souls are a soul tribe united by love and will always have your back. 🤗🩵🕊️♾️
This has touched me so much. We have a verbal 7 yr old autistic child that is about to start ABA Therapy. He tumbles and flips on the couch constantly. He is very high masking and we had no idea he was autistic until he was 7 years old. I am praying for you.
My parents were often stared at or told to "control your child" when I was growing up. I am Autistic. I needed to meltdown from all the masking I had to do. Letting it out was my only way to express myself.
Takesha, I am you. I have been for the past 20½ years. You speak my life and I know it is difficult. It is rough. There's no let up. You want to cry, and scream, and some days walk out that door and never look back. Those days will never go away but I can promise this. They will lessen. It will get easier, and my goodness, the good days far outweigh the bad. It is so worth the storms for the sunshine and rainbow days. You have a wonderful, spirited, confident young man on your hands, in Massiah. Good job, Mamma! You are doing a wonderful job, Takesha. Never doubt that for a moment. Love Sonia, from England.
Takesha you are an amazing mother. And Massiah is such a kind kid. I am autistic myself and to see people really understanding that their autistic children just are who they are makes me smile. I wish both all the best.

🤗
I want to give Mom a hug. I have to boys with nonverbal autism. It's a hard road
Hugs to you too.
Both you and Takesha are so strong, go mama!
Takesha is a wonderful mother; she could do without the stress of always wondering about neighbours and noise. Wish her well with raising her son.
As an Autistic person, this was amazing to watch and this made me smile and that high five was also amazing :)
She needs to be with a support group with other mothers of autistic kids. She needs assistance with a house and big backyard fenced in for freedom to jump and move around.
he seems like such a nice boy, his mother is definitely doing an amazing job at parenting despite the challenges they're facing!
Your school district, by law, should provide some support for Massiah's development. He has a lot to share with the world. You are a great mom.
Yes this is very important!!
Instead of spending $5-7 a day on coffee or food, we could be donating that towards families like this and helping each other. They deserve the best. ❤
@france6873that’s how much a basic coffee is where I live. 😬 🤷🏼♀️ but also meant to be a general statement.
Real talk 💞
@france6873Yes. Daily Starbucks is easily that much.
@@kerigirl711 People should be able and have a right to enjoy their coffee or whatever they want! Helping people yes but telling people to do this for unfortunate people and taking away their joys of coffee etc is just wrong!! Just ask for help and that's it ! Not take away what people love and enjoy smh
@@nikkinonames5265 I think you’re taking the comment a little too literally and seriously/missing the underlying point. But I do understand what you’re saying. It’s meant to be a mindful comment, not telling anyone what to do.
Takesha's eyes are something else! Absolutely will help with what I can.
Wish her and Massiah the best.
I agree, she is beautiful both inside and out, what an amazing mumma.
Picturing you and Massiah living in a beautiful home with a big backyard with lots of trees, nature and privacy. Just donated, hugs from Canada.
Chris is the driving force behind my want and need to become a teacher. Heading to Brazil to help as many kids as I can.
Thank you for this legacy ❤
Education is the key. My daughter has Autism and she was being bullied at school. What she decided to do was make an information page about herself and her autism. She gave one to every teacher, child, parent, neighbour and family member. The attitude towards her changed and she started being invited to parties etc. Some people are just ignorant to the condition due to a lack of education.
Exactly education is key and accepting is very important too
Good on her for standing up for herself
Takesha and Massiah are beautiful 💖 thanks as always for these interviews. Please dont ever quit. The silenced minority need their voices heard 💗
Fully funded goal in 3 days, wow! The supporters of this channel are amazing!
Sweet little boy with a lot of potential to do great things in life.
Takesha,
From one mother of a beautiful, loving, smart and kind autistic boy to another, you are a WONDERFUL mother. Our boys are perfect. NEVER let anyone tell you otherwise. Much love.
They say nothing compares to a mother’s love and this shows that. The understanding, care, and love between these 2 is beautiful!
My son has autism and hits himself on the head daily, he knows how to put his helmet on before he starts hitting his head.
🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️
Wow that is amazing that he knows to put on the helmet first! I hope he is doing well.
Why does he feel that way? What does he say? (Either verbally, body language, context, or with AAC)
I’m glad he has a safe way to let out the [frustration?], but I hope he is able to ask to make the environment more accommodating for himself so it happens less.
Chris you are literally a gift from heaven man. You are the nicest person ever with these children and I look up to you for that man.
Thanks
It's not much, but I hope it can help the cause. Thank you Chris for everything you do.
He seems like such a sweet kid. I’ll never believe there’s such thing as a “bad” kid, anyways.
Takesha & Massiah make an unstoppable duo! Pray they find a home with a yard and neighbors that make a village of love! 🙏🕊️
What a loving, understanding mother of a sweet kid.
Congratulations. I am so impressed, even if you didn't experience "autism."
Stimming is a healthy way for him to regulate his sensory system. Without stimming, he will be in pain.
i really hope this family got the support they need for housing.
I like when Massiah said "I like your queen hair" That's just Really really Nice of him 🥹🥹🥹
Praying for him.
Did my part! Its a privilege and a blessing being able to donate to the less fortunate, 🥹🥹🥹God bless this mom and her son and also the people who donated! 🙏🏾❤️
10:27 that’s so amazing. Just something like that helps this child so much and makes him feel connected and also concentrate on the moment.
Massiah, your smile is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! And calling your mom a queen was so touching. You are absolutely correct! Nice to meet you!
This mom is amazing!! Massiah is beautiful. I wish them both the very best.
What a beautiful little man and mother. God bless them and provide for them always.
Bless you. 💛
People like that just drag everyone down.
i couldnt help but bust out laughing at his mom saying he is high energy then the hard cut to Massiah full body clapping xD she is not wrong
I'm an autistic, and I grew up with my mom being single. bless this mamas heart, she really is a queen🫶🏽
Thanks!
Loved her talking about him starting to talk & how ready she was to learn sign language!
I fell in love with Massiah's first sentence! :)))))))) thank you
Thanks! Chris you are a true inspiration and blessing to so many.God bless you for all you do for these very great and special people!!!!
Can we take a minute and adore mom’s beautiful eyes. 💙
Mom, you’re doing a great job being a mom! Much love to you.
I feel for you because I have autism too 👍🏻💜
Hes such a happy lil guy, what a nice mom he has :)
May I say, what a fantastic mother, working under really bad circumstances and with little or no respite ❤❤❤ 19:30
Wow, single mom, section 8 with the headaches that can come from that, plus having an autistic kid. I hope they get the help they need. Mom has the most gorgeous eyes! And having her son say she is a queen, that is awesome.
I just seen all of the money raised for them to find a safe home, and it made my heart so incredibly happy! They deserve every bit of it and more! ❤
This channel features beautiful people.
Donated. Thank you Chris for introducing us to so many beautiful families. Massiah and his Mom deserve to be in a safe area where services are available to give mom a break. Did anyone notice Massiah scat singing?? Maybe music is his jam!!! 🎉
What a beautiful and authentic conversation with this thoughtful and loving mom about her child. ❤
I have an 8 year old autistic son who is very sweet and innocent like Massiah. I will be donating because I know how important it is for autistic kids to have a home he can express himself in.
What a privilege to support this journey to the perfect new home! Beautiful mother and son, Massiah.🙏🤍🙏🙋♀️
