As much as I really enjoy the bourbon and rye info, your always friendly banter between dad and son is the equal for me in your fun videos. You make it clear that you love each other, keep the shows coming.
My favorite part of this video was Kurt continuously on the verge of blowing the "blind" element of the tasting. LOL! And yes, Thelma and Louis drove off the cliff, not Bonnie and Clyde. 😄 Thank guys, you always give me shopping goals!
It's been said before, but Imma say it again...y'all brighten my evening with your videos! Y'all have a lot of fun and it shows. It's contagious!! Thanks!!!
Good, fun episode. BTW Trenton, it was Thelma and Louise that went over the cliff in the movie. 😂 Bonnie and Clyde were gunned down in their car by Texas Rangers. Cheers! 🥃
Great show! I always enjoy watching a blind tasting and this format was extra fun. Can't wait to see what Trenton comes up with to throw at Kurt. CHEERS!
Alberta Premium is freaking awesome! I just picked up a 63.7% bottle near Buffalo for just under 50 bones and kinda feel like going back for another! Great video, guys!
I travel to Canada a lot...been to all the major cities (except Winnipeg) over the past several months. When I was in a liquor store in Vancouver, I got talking to a local, and he recommended Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye to me. Bought it, took it home, and OMG! It is so unlike other Canadian whiskies, because most of them are 80 proof and kind of dull. It's not easy to find, even in Canada. So, I'm glad to see you add it to your show, but now it's going to be even harder to find here in the U.S. Let's hope the other RUclipsrs don't catch on to this whiskey! LOL.
Just bought this bottle today!!! Because of this video. They wanted 75 bucks but worked with me and sold it for 50!! I plan on taking my first sip with y’all hahahha thank you!!! I bought my henna Mchenry single barrel because of y’all and FREAKING LOVED IT it was my first bourbon I ever bout and that was last week haha onto my next with this Alberta premium
Loved the show been watching for a couple of years now. I don't drink much bourbon, am more of a scotch drinker but really get a lot of enjoyment and information from you both . It's a great chemistry you have.👍
Great stuff boys! Trenton…be grateful that Kurt didn’t put you through a Scotch blind! Sagamore Rye anything is a favorite of mine…fantastic juice! Cheers!
Great show! My favorite rye is the Sagamore PX Sherry then the Very Old St Nick Harvest Rye then Rare Breed Rye. My local store owner has pushed the Alberta Premium a few times so now I’m a buyer! Cheers
Thanks for the great content, as usual. I’ve passed on Four Gate every time I see it due to the price, and I have yet to regret that decision. Love Sagamore!
This was a great episode. Kurt, it is so funny how you kept wanting to spill the beans while Rebecca was getting frustrated. Love the interaction between all of you. I am newer into the bourbon and rye scene. Scotch is my go-to drink. Lagavulin 16, Highland Park, and Dalmore for me, please. I started really diving into your channel to help a buddy put on a bourbon tasting. He's knowledgeable with wine, and my strength is with scotch. Your videos helped immensely with getting ready for that tasting. I am now drinking bourbon as much, if not more, than scotch. My only complaint with the channel is that you have given me more great choices with bourbon and rye whiskies than I have time or money to pursue. Keep up the great work!
Been nursing my Old Forester 1910. Will probably get another bottle of Wild Turkey 101 RYE this week. I have a couple bottles on order of Old Forester RYE..... On order for a month. Will check the with the Whiskey Store Thursday... Wish me luck...
Loved this episode guys. I'm slowly but surely getting into more ryes, but I can't say that I've ever seen the Alberta in my travels. Now that it's on my radar I will pay more attention in hopes of stumbling upon it. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
FYI, Alberta got crushed in my blind of Jack Daniels Barrel Proof Rye, Pikesville, Knob Creek SB Store Pick Rye, and Wild Turkey Barrel Proof Rye. So if you like any of these, you will prob not be impressed with Alberta Premium. But that's just my taste. Keep up the great videos!
Awesome video, can’t wait for Kurt’s turn. Just got a Luca Mariano Single Barrel Rye, sourced from Wilderness Trail, it’s great and Harry has it. Only 103 proof so a little low for Trenton. Cheers
Had to chuckle at the Bonnie and Clyde driving off the cliff comment. Thinking he meant Thelma and Louise? Either way, fun to relax with a drink and watch these guys. Cheers!
What a trip guys I was sipping on some Jim Beam prohibition-style rye last night and my brain was telling me that I think I might like rye and then this video comes out good job guys love the video!
thanks for showing some Canadian whisky love ! may I suggest you fellas to to try some Lot 40 or Lot 40 dark oak ryes ! a couple other good Canadian stuff !
I hunted that Alberta and finally found one when I visited OH. I haven't opened mine either, but I am anxious for the day that I do. Balcones rye is a great budget bottle for $40.
Alberta Premium Cask Strength is well deserving of the recognition it received from Jim Murray. Being the "best whiskey in the world" is always going to be hyper subjective but it is the most unassuming yet awesome bottles in my collection. I don't think most people would rank it as their favorite bottle of the year but Jim Murray loves to pick off-ball, less obvious, hitters as his top whiskey. He usually picks something that isn't allocated or hard to find because that's only the best whiskey for a very small minority (because of scarcity).
I also have an unopened bottle of the Alberta Premium. I stumbled into it at a Total Wine for $65 and grabbed it not knowing anything about it. It's been sitting on my shelf ever since. Maybe I should finally open that sucker...
I believe that Whistle Pig sources from Alberta Premium in Calgary. They are now producing their own rye as well and mixing it with Alberta Rye. Great video!
I enjoyed this one-sided blind video. I look forward to Trent doing the reverse. I would also like to see a video of some low to mid level proof reviews.
I lucked out finding (last bottle) a bottle of the Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye 63.7% abv % 127.4 proof for $34.55 after NYS 8% sales tax. I checked several other liquor stores and they wanted $69.99? Luckey me. great review and 🥃Cheers!
Thelma and Louise drove off the cliff. Bonnie and Clyde were shot to death in a police ambush, but I get what you're saying. Another good video. I love me some rye. I usually go with Templeton but they're all good.
I love rye whiskey, especially MGP under any name. Redemption is my go-to, it's affordable and so drinkable. If I drank $75(the cost of Alberta Premium Cask Strength around here)bottles all the time, Alberta Premium would be the one. Turns out they're kinda the MGP of Canada, known for their ryes and supplying many sourced brands. I believe Whistle Pig is AP. I think. Keep it up, y'all, I always enjoy the show.
I totally agree with Alberta Premium being ranked #1. It’s one of my favorites. Not real common to see on the shelf in my area, so I pick up a new bottle every time I see one. FYI, use Alberta Premium if you want to make fantastic Manhattan.
Again another good video I never had a rye whiskey but I'm going to try a bottle I'm in Pennsylvania so I don't know what I will find but I'm going to look thanks guys
Great show as always guys! Thank you! The Alberta Premium at 63.5 is about $73 in San Antonio, TX. I love high-proof rye; but this one was a bit disappointing for me - possibly due to the high price-point - yet it seems a bit too alcoholic on the nose and a bit too rough around the edges in terms of the burn and overall start-to-finish drinking experience. So to be fair, the 112 proof might be significantly better. My personal favorite high-proof rye is the Knob Creek Cask Strength at 127 proof (bottled in 2010).
Welp, there goes my fairly readily available cask strength rye off the shelves 😂 Great video! I’m glad the Alberta Premium CS Rye won out. I’ve got several of their bottles (but only the second and third batches/releases) and thoroughly enjoy sipping on them.
Always love the rye content guys and you tried 4 new (or newer) ones. My sweet spot is probably a little lower proof and a little lower price point but keep the rye stuff coming!
Ok, so picked up my 1st Alberta Premium Rye 4 years ago at $80 after it won Rye whiskey of the year. It was 132 proof and 100% Rye. Was excellent and surprisingly mild for the proof. Alberta Premium supplied almost all the distillate for Whistle Pig when they started I believe. That bottle I can now get for $25 on sale around here as it sits undiscovered on the shelf in it's plastic bottle. Don't blow the secret too much please! And it was Thelma and Louise thar drove off the cliff. Bonnie and Clyde were shot to h*** in an ambush. Kinda like that Alberta Premium does to those higher priced bottles
@@chargerguy74 Not sure which one I have now but the 1st one was the best. The next two have still been good - very good and for $25 I am more than happy with them! Still worth all of the $60 that you might pay.
@@robertbooth3367 lol yeah, I hope one of these later/future batches blows away batch 1. I bought 6 Batch 1s for friends and never kept one for myself because I wasn’t into whiskey at the time. My wife was pressuring me to keep one for myself and I should’ve listened lol.
How you guys tried Old Potrero? For my money that is one of the best rye whiskies available. In second would be the EH Taylor rye. Unbelievable. Great video - let’s see more of these!
I like the Basil Hayden dark rye and the Sagamore rye too. I think the Hayden is blended with the Alberta rye. Now I think I’ll pick up a bottle. I found a store that carried five or six High gates, but I’ll pass on the price.
As much as I really enjoy the bourbon and rye info, your always friendly banter between dad and son is the equal for me in your fun videos. You make it clear that you love each other, keep the shows coming.
No Bonnie and Clyde did not drive off a cliff. 😂
But that happened in the movie Thelma and Louise.
Great show guys!
😂

I am so bad at secrets! 😂

Nice ! I'm an Alberta boy, And I agree ( not being biased) that Alberta Premium is a solid poor ! Thanks guys ! Good vid as always !
My favorite bourbon channel, thanks as always gents.

CHEERS!
Great video! Definitely keep doing these in a series! Should do blinds for each of you, gives me ideas for my next bottle!

Bonnie and Clyde driving off a cliff?!? LMAO I’m pretty sure Trenton is thinking of Thelma and Louise. Great episode guys!

That format is very fun and information to boot.
