Thanks for the video!!! Saved our Memorial Day weekend at the Jersey shore. Pull into Wawa for gas, put truck into park and couldn’t get the truck started. AAA was 2hr wait. Googled what the problem was, your video came up. Opened the hood. Snapped the shifter cable back into place and within 10 minutes, we were back on the road, beach weekend saved!!! It’s now Tuesday morning and I’m on my way to Ford for the $5 part. Update: Apparently, the was a recall by Ford where they added a plastic cap that goes over the nylon bushing and linkage shown in this video.
This is happened to one of my delivery vehicles today. I googled it and was able to get the van back to my house (thanks to this video) and not have to wait 3 Hrs for AAA. Do you remember the part number? I used the part number listed above and it has the Bushling but not a cap like you stated above. Thanks in advance!
