    Great Video as always. Would this also be the steps necessary to do a virtual sound check with raw multi track files?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks Paul!
      Yes indeed this is also how you’d do a virtual sound check.
      Two Options:
      1. playback your raw tracks and eq.
      2. what makes the process more efficient, Get the band to play at the venue with everything set up (mics) as it will be at showtime and record it.
      Then play it back and eq at your leisure without the band having to hang around.
      Thanks for watching and happy virtual-sound checking. 😁

    Great Video. Thanks a lot. One simple question: can XR-18 enable the Audio Device Control in Logic Pro? This should be important to set the Input Gain for each channel properly. Many thanks in advance for you kind answer.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  5 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      If I’m understanding your question correctly. The answer is unfortunately, no.
      You set your gain for each input in the mixer software, not in Logic.
      Hope that helps.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

      @@QuickEZ Thanks a lot for your kind answer. Yes you understood correctly. It is a pity that most of the Audio Interfaces doesn't enable such a nice feature of Logic.

    How do you get output audio out? Where do you connect your speakers to on the mixer?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  Месяц назад

      You connect your speakers to the main Left and Right output of the mixer.
      Then when you raise your faders in the XAir software, you’ll hear it in the speakers.

    Does this work same way for the x18 with the space for the tablet?

      I haven’t personally tried it with that device. But it uses the same software so it should be identical.

    When you record to the DAW are you also getting the Post Eq and effects you originally had programed before the DAW

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 месяцев назад

      Hi John,
      That depends on how you set the USB SENDS.
      On the USB SENDS screen you have options for your tap point.
      You have a few options in this screen, like INPUT, PRE/POST EQ etc…
      I would imagine if you set the tap point to POST FADER you will get signal in your DAW that is an exact duplicate of everything you’ve done on the mixer, with the exception of effects.
      Because you are sending signal to your fx unit and then the processed signal comes back on its own fader fx 1-4, those fx won’t show up in your daw.
      You would have to send the fx returns to the daw as well but then you’d have to give up some of your channel sends.
      That being said, if you have INSERTED an effect directly on your channel strip, like an eq fx or compression for example, that effect would be baked into the signal and would be reflected in your DAW.
      Hope that makes sense and helps you out.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    I'm not seeing all channels on my XR18 when I try to multitrack using USB input. Just left and right are the only options. I've read there is a toggle in the XR that switches from 2 x 2 to 18 x 18 but can't find it. Hoping that's it. And what app to do this? Thanks....

      @QuickEZ  3 месяца назад

      Hi Greg,
      In the xair edit software,
      Click the setup button
      Click the audio/midi tab
      Select USB Interface 18/18
      That should fix it for you!
      Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    Hello!
    I have a problem with playing usb returns from logic to xr18. When I record multi track everything is just fine, kick comes on channel 1, snare on channel 2 in logic and etc. Their usb outputs sets as mono 1, 2 as well.
    Then I switch the routing on xr18 to usb returns and press play in logic play every channel comes to console and make sound except channels 1 & 2 (kick and snare). Why?
    I have to change usb outputs for them to 15 &16 or any other free channels but it’s weird solution. Seems like Mac occupies usb 1/2 and doesn’t allow anything to go through them.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  2 месяца назад

      Off the top of my head I’m not really sure what is happening.
      But it does sound like you’ve got channel 1/2 prioritized for the Mac’s generic audio out.
      I’d have to try and replicate this to give you a solid answer.
      I’ll see if I can do that.
      If anyone else has had this issue, hopefully they will respond.

    Great video! What is the latency like when recording into logic?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 месяца назад

      Hi,
      And thank you!
      Latency is dependent on your buffer settings.
      The lower the setting the lower the latency.
      BUT lower buffer can also tax your system more.
      My general answer is, it’s generally very liveable for the average person. But of course some folks are more sensitive than others.
      You just need to find a balance between latency you can live with and leaving your system enough resources to handle your mix.
      Sorry I know that’s not a cut and dry answer like “it’s great!”
      But in general, if you’ve got a decent system the latency is totally useable.
      Thanks for watching, and happy mixing!

    Thanks. I'm not getting a stereo mix of all channels into logic. I have enabled 17-18 for that purpose, and turned up the input on the main mixer area of XAir. any help is appreciated.

      If your levels are up and unmuted, you should be operational.
      If you want to send me a screenshot of your XR I/o and you DAW I/o I can take a Quick Look for anything weird.

    Question once I recorded into logic and I try to bounce the tracks out for some reason I’m not getting any audio. How do I get audio on my bounced tracks?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 месяца назад

      Hi Paul,
      Nothing changes with how you bounce your tracks, you do that the way you always have.
      You need to make sure that your Mac audio output is set to use the XR18 as your sound output device.
      Go into:
      system settings >
      Sound >
      click on the output tab >
      and set the device to be your mixer.
      You will likely have multiple sets of outputs showing
      XR18 1-2
      XR18 3-4
      XR18 5-6
      XR18 7-8
      And so on, you get the idea...
      just choose the channel set you want to use, and then in the mixer software you can turn USB returns "on" in the channel tab.
      Once you've done this, the mixer takes over the duties of playing back your audio for all of your apps, not just Logic, through that USB send.
      Hope that helps. If you're still confused, just let me know and I'll try to clear things up for you.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    Hey QuickEZ. My X Air edit is showing Device Not Connected. I'm using a USB. I'm getting input signal showing in Logic but nothing records... and absolutely no levels coming back on the XAir Edit.. My MAC recognizes the X18 and notices when I unplug it. i restarted and rebooted and reconnected. Ever have this happen?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  9 месяцев назад +1

      If your XR Edit is showing as not connected, then you need to double-check your network settings.
      There are too many variables for me to give you a quick answer here. If you want to email me with your network settings I can try to help you.
      my address is: email@quickez.ca
      If you are seeing signal coming to your Mac from your XR18 and it is solid, meaning it does not sound crackly, or stuttering, then double-check your routing for the USB returns in the mixer.
      If you are unsure about the routing, feel free to email me a picture of your USB return routing screen from the XR.
      If everything is routed correctly, then see below.
      Assuming you have your routing set correctly, then you may have a bad USB cable that isn’t passing signal correctly.
      Do you have another you can try?
