    Thankyou for your expertise on this product , was hoping this unit had seperate processing abilities as well on the aux channels ,
    From what is mentioned you can only turn the processed signal off or on, that’s handy to know as the Aux sends is where the eq is critical and would prefer it to be turned off and then have the The Aux output go through its own independent processing unit ,
    If I am missing something please let me know , also the master EQ. Can the outlay be changed to a parametric format instead ,
    Find the mater eq awkward to operate and doesn’t fit fully into the iPad screen ,
    Again thanks for your insights

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  Месяц назад

      Hi Medleyboys,
      my apologies for any confusion.
      Each AUX does indeed have it's own processing.
      On each AUX Master you can apply EQ, Gate, and Compression.
      You can access this processing two ways:
      1. In your main fader-mix window,
      - you can scroll to the right of the page until you find your AUX masters.
      - Select the Aux master you want to configure and then
      - click on the EDIT tab at the top of your screen.
      - Select the parameters you want to edit and voila...you're done.
      2. in the AUX SENDS window
      - Select the aux you want to edit from the top row and this will populate an AUX Master at the right of your screen for that selected Aux.
      - select the Aux Master
      - click on the EDIT tab at the top of your screen
      - Select the parameters you want to edit and voila...you're done.
      I hope that helps!
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    Really like your practical, nuts & bolts approach to explaining things. I have never used a console and my experience is really using USB/Audio interfaces with DAWs so many of the terms such as AUX SENDS, RETURNS and the like sound like Greek to me. I recently took a plunge and decided to buy the UI24R which seems like a very versatile unit and I am merely starting out on this journey, taking baby steps. Now, with regard to starting from a "blank canvass", creating a brand-new "Snap-shot" (I have already created a brand-new "Show" folder), do I need to somehow first "reset" the Mixer?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks Mega!
      There is a function called Mixer Reset. It’s in the SHOWS tab.
      This clears any sends you may have set (purposely or inadvertently), sets channels and routing back to any defaults.
      Essentially it puts the whole console back to ZERO.
      So if you are starting a new show file from scratch, this is the way to make sure you’ve cleared any information you don’t want in the channels/system.
      Hopefully my videos have been somewhat easy to follow. I do make some assumptions that people know what the terms are.
      If there’s anything that isn’t totally clear, feel free to drop me an email and I can try to simplify things for you.

    Thanks! Can you specify whether you want the EQ, gate or compressor to be included INDIVIDUALLY in pre or post processing in the AUX sends? In other words, I might want the EQ curve that is going to the main mix to be used in my AUX mix, but I don't want the main mix gate or compression in my AUX. Is this differentiation possible??? Thanks.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Richard,
      For the aux sends you have pre and post fader button. And a pre/post processing button.
      Pre processing will send your signal without any of the processing.
      And of course pre/post fader will send it before or after the fader.
      That is as granular as your choices get unfortunately.
      It would be great if we could do a pre/post choice for each item individually (gate/comp/eq/) individually, but alas, this is not the case.
      Hope that answers your question
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    • @Pyuras
      @Pyuras 6 месяцев назад +1

      In some mixers, like the Behringer XR18, you can select the signal tap point (before eq, gate, comp, etc) for the aux sends per channel with a lot more flexibility. On the Ui24R we're limited to only pre/post all of the processing.

    How do you set up AUX 9 & 10 to the headphone outputs? You said that was a different video and I have not been able to find one in english. If you have a video please share with me or let me know how to do it

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  Месяц назад +1

      Hi MERT,
      Sadly that video isn't done yet. I had other things come up that got in the way.
      Here's what you need to do.
      1. click on the settings COG
      2. click on the Patching tab
      3. click on HW OUTS at the left side of your patching matrix
      4. under the A9 column (Aux 9), assign it to either H1L H1R (headphone 1 left or right) ,or H2L or H2R (headphone 2 left or right)Whatever your preference is.
      5. under the A10 column (aux 10), follow the same steps as previous point
      Now you have your aux 9 and aux 10 assigned to the headphone output of your choice.
      Any signal you assign to those two auxes will now show up on the headphone outputs you selected.
      If you only need Mono sends, you can assign aux 9 to both the Headphone 1 Left and right output at the same time, and assign aux 10 to both the Headphone 2 left and right outputs at the same time.
      Obviously, if you want stereo, then assign aux 9 to one of the left headphones and assign aux 10 to the right side of the same aux.
      If you want two IDENTICAL stereo auxes, you can assign aux 9 to both headphone 1 and headphone 2 left side, and assign aux 10 to both headphone 1 and headphone 2 right side. Now anything you send to aux 9 will be on the left side of both headphone outputs, and anything you send to aux 10 will be on the right side of both headphone outputs.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

      Hi NightFever,
      if you're asking can you do a different EQ on each Aux send, then the answer is yes.
      Just like the input channels, each Aux Send has it's own EQ, Gate, and Compressor that can be adjusted independently from every other send.
      The same applies to the Master Left/Right output, that also has it's own EQ and Compressor.
      If I've misunderstood your question, or you were asking about something else, please let me know.

    Hello have a question about the aux, is there possible an equalization to be applied different from the main out?let me be more specific for example my vocal on the main it's going to speakers on salon,but the aux will be send to a online live, and the equalization it's different on a salon because the speakers,I understand you can apply a "master" equalization on aux,but need to equalizer one specific channel,thanks.

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Nicolas,
      The short answer is “no”.
      The long answer;
      If you happen to have an empty channel that you are not using. Duplicate the input for the channel you specifically want to EQ differently, and make whatever EQ changes you want. Then, send that new duplicate channel to your Aux and not to the master.
      This way you now have two copies of the same input channel with completely different equalization, going to your two different locations.
      For example:
      Main vocal, let’s pretend you have it plugged into input 1.
      Let’s pretend that input 20 has nothing plugged in.
      Edit the input patching of channel 20 and set it to input 1.
      You now have a duplicate of your main vocal.
      EQ channel 20 differently from channel 1, and send it pre-fader to your aux.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    Why not raise the aux master directly from the aux 1 page?? Rather than coming back to main page and raising the master aux there

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  18 дней назад +1

      Hi Sajid,
      Fair question, and the answer is this:
      1. I didn't think it was particularly necessary in this video
      2. If you're new to Auxes, and this mixer, you NEED to understand that there is a return bus from the Aux send to the mixer.
      And showing where it is on the main mix page helps people understand that premise.
      Should I have mentioned the master on the sends page, in retrospect yes I probably should have, and perhaps it would help to clarify things. But alas, that isn't what I did.
      And in my opinion; far more important than seeing the master on the sends page, is seeing where it lives on the main page.
      I do appreciate the question though, as it provides feedback, and although I believe I've covered this "aux send page, master" topic in other videos, this certainly will serve as a reminder for me to do so in all future videos.
      Thanks for the feedback, thanks for watching, and happy mixing!

    Are the aux outputs mono? Is is possible to output stereo to a headphone amp for IEMs?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Kenneth,
      Yes you can do that.
      If you look in your patching screen under HW OUTS and you will see:
      H1 L
      H1 R
      H2 L
      H2 R
      just patch your signal to whichever headphone outputs you want.
      You can send you virtual auxes 9/10 to a headphone output if you’ve used up your other auxes already.
      Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

    • @Pyuras
      @Pyuras 6 месяцев назад +1

      Most outputs in mixers in general are mono, unless otherwise noted (like phone outputs). If you want stereo output from auxes to a (separate) headphone amp, you'll need to use two auxes and stereo link them in the sofware so they output a stereo signal (one aux is L and the other is R). The stereo link step is really important, otherwise you'll just get dual mono from those auxes. To link auxes in stereo on the Ui24R you hold click on the aux output name in the mix or aux sends view and select "stereo link". Note that you can only link odd (L) + even (R) outputs. i.e.: aux 1 + aux 2, aux 3 + aux 4, aux 5 + aux 6, etc. You can't link aux 2 + aux 3 in stereo, for example.

      Hi maranatha,
      this mixer does not have a crossover in it.
      Do you have a crossover of your own? If so, please follow the instructions for your specific crossover.
      If you don't have one, and you want to use an EQ on your main outs and your aux-fed sub outputs to simulate a crossover;
      - find out what the ideal crossover point is on your speakers and your subs,
      - on the sub output use a low-pass filter to simulate the sub crossover point,
      - on your main speaker outputs, use a high-pass filter to simulate the crossover point of those speakers.
      to set the eq on your sub output;
      - select the aux send tab
      - select your aux
      - highlight the aux master and click on EDIT
      - select the EQ tab and set your low-pass filter
      to set the eq on your main outputs;
      - select your master output fader and click edit
      - select the EQ tab and set your high-pass filter

      @@QuickEZ The reason Gain Structure (Staging) is so important is that you can overload at any point or the opposite, underutilize input channel gain which amplifies the inherent noise in all curcuits. My approach to sound check is: Set Master Fader, SubGroups (if the mixer has those), and Aux Send masters to Unity. Ensure all input Gain is set to it's lowest and bring up each input channels fader until you get the desired level or reach Unity gain (sometimes marked with a "U" or maybe the infinity symbol). Stop there and if you need more bring up the gain. I try to never touch the gain again as it will change everything to include Aux, Fader, SubGroups, Master Fader and in the case of digi boards the processing. Comps, Gates are especially affected. I think you're doing a great job helping people to understand and you're also very positive in your delivery. I just wanted to add some constructive suggestions.

      Hi Anoop,
      click on the cog setting at the top of the screen.
      click the settings tab at the top right.
      click the global tab underneath the settings tab.
      at the left of the screen turn AUX SEND MUTE INHERITANCE to "ON".
      now when you mute a channel, it will mute it in all your Aux sends.
      The other way to do this is to change your Auxes to be "post fader" instead of "pre fader" but this will also change the way your auxes function for mixing so I would suggest doing the first method.
