  • This guide shows how to make the Deimos C Class Battleship from my ship building guide: I cant put links here apparently so just search "All Ship HAB interiors" on google and the reddit post should pop up :)
most parts are available at Deimos Shipyard around Mars. for the hopetech hallways you need to go to hopetown and check with the sales person inside. i recommend placing a single 1x1 hab inbetween the engineering bay and the ladder shaft leading to the cockpit as a placeholder, the side ones can be left empty, until you go to hopetown to pick them up. I bought the engines at Akila.

Most parts can be acquired at Deimos staryard, the 1 way bridges are from hopetown, the engines are from akila, and the hellfire cannons require doing the first UC mission to join vanguard

The most confusing and mind boggling thing about this video is you don't seem to have any issues, with the snapping of components, not wanting to go to the right spot?! What is this evil magic! You must be a witch!!! ha ha... I love this ship ... I was trying to build something like it... so I greatly appreciate you sharing your design and build philosophy... you know... even though you're a witch. ;-)

@KodaVoss snapping can be weird, highly recommend paying attention to the y level on the right side. When spawning items they appear at the y level you're at, but if you grab something it stays at its level instead. So even if I'm at the right y level, if I wanna move something to the floor above I grab it, move one y level up, then snap in

No to mention there is ZERO commentary on many. Your design and presentation is PERFECT. You take the time to show everything and explain things. Finally someone who appreciates hiding components and using hab connectors without creating a maze. I found that captain quarters and living quarters connect well together, door is always on lower left corner.
Another weird thing is cargo hold habs do not add cargo capacity. Feels like such oversight. I really wished to make my entry way through cargo hold, because it makes sense to use the only bay you got for cargo hauling and workshp and engineering on first deck, but it has no use outside aesthetics.
At least engineering bay got a crew slot.

While I applaud and appreciate the time you guys take to make these build videos, the one most vital important piece of information that no one mentions is what character level you need to be for some of these modules. I have wasted sooooooo much money and time on getting midway to 3/4 of the way through a build only to find out a particular module isn't available because of my character level. That vital piece of info right off the bat would be stellar for those of us who are building challenges and appreciate the way y'all's builds turn out. FWIW, all parts (except those locked behind quests - e.g., UC Vanguard and Crimson Fleet) unlock at Lvl 60. There are new parts that unlock along the way, but there are plenty of ways to get to Lvl 60 in about an hour. MANY videos on YT about how to do this. The one I used was an outpost making Amp, which you can also sell for gobs of credits that you'll need to buy parts. My most expensive ship build (so far) was 998K credits.

Awesome design choices, I learned alot from watching this.
As for the Kyrx fight, you mentioned "Taking points out of engines because who needs em." I'm afraid that your survivability needs em. The reason why you are getting destroyed is because your are way too slow and you take every single hit. If you are able to fly at top speed, you can evade alot of shots. Also when you boost, you can shake missile locks, and those are the heavy hitters. Kryx is meant for lvl 20s, I went there at lvl 18 in my class A hybrid and was able to clear them out by employing hit and run.

    • @Indignation211
      @Indignation211 10 месяцев назад +3

This. Keep Shields and Engines maxed during combat. Also you may be interested to know that fewer engines = less power needed to achieve top speed. If you only have 6 power worth of engines then only 6 power is needed for top speed. The trade-off is less maneuvering thrust and thus less mass allowance before you lose mobility, which is also supremely important.
As for weapons its also worth pointing out that missiles and "auto/pulse" guns operate well even with little dedicated power since they charge over time, whereas "charge-per-shot" guns pretty much demand maximum power.
Yeah the Battle of the Key DESTROYED me repeatedly my first two runs, but after learning more about ship design I built a solid B-class design with two engines, four charge-per-shot particle guns and four particle auto-guns and this time I was the one utterly destroying them. Could probably pull it off with a similar A-class ship albiet firepower and shields will be lower.

You said at around 56:35 that when you land your ship at some location, the game will always orient your ship with the loading ramp aimed at the direction you need to be going. In my experience this has never been true. In fact I just completed a huge redesign of my main ship to raise it up so I could place the loading ramp under the front of the ship because I got tired of having to run around the ship every time I landed somewhere.

00:59:43 From what I've gathered, the system doesn't like loops, so there will always be parts that _should_ connect but don't, in order to break the loop.
01:00:25 While that is _supposed_ to be true, sometimes the stuff _doesn't_ go into the cargo hold, it just vanishes. I've pretty much stopped using armories at this point. Note: crates have been pretty consistent and the little cases usually keep their contents. It seem to be the _racks_ that have a deletion problem.
I just want to say, I love how everyone has collectively decided that the Deepseeker helmet works better than the actual Bounty Hunter helmet.

You have the same kind of build mentality as me, trying to actually get the interior to be functional, the end result is incredible.
One thing you did not seem to include is any Deimos AIO Berths, which in my head would be essential to actually keep 8 or more people on a ship for any length of time. Four beds, a bathroom and a small galley to each 2x1. Might even manage to win some modules back trading one for a couple of Hull A pieces. Though you will have to duel with doorways again, I'm sure.
I'll definitely be subscribing, hoping to see more of your creations in the future, perhaps if the shipbuilder is updated or you choose to mod the game you could manage even more detail.

It was a little fast paced, i paused a lot and rewinded certain parts, paused and flew to different locations for the engines, etc. I've now got a better idea of how to try my own build. I've been wanting to make Eve online's Drake missile cruiser. Yes I know many don't like missiles in Starfield, but in Eve Online the drake is a crazy super long range cruiser that will have tons of missiles flying at you from a distance. While missiles aren't quite as long range in Starfield: i coukd try to duplicate the look and oompf of a missile boat.

I've built it exactly, and the only thing I added was a window to see my shield just for a LUL. It's kind of nice actually, since it's a star in the middle of Companionway. After the colouring. Also, I've changed the armoury since I don't use them, to all in one berth, so my crew mates can sleep in their own bed, rather than my bed. I miss the battle station, but Brig is useful to cage a bad guy for a quest or something. Then the big mess hall is beautiful, perfect for the crew to hang out all together. I manage to make it 9 crew, but the game only allows 8 max, so that's unfortunate. I know we can use mod, but I like it vanilla. I hate when people building and they glitch the connection. I mean, why even bother building then. Anyway, it is AWESOME man, very slow, has lots of explanation, really helpful. I would love to see more of your build, you are the second-best builder I find given the concept of where the ladders and room connections are supposed to be. I learned a lot.

    1. You unlock all ship parts at level 61, with level 4 pilot and level 4 ship design. UC space/ship builders focus on Deimos/NG parts and Freestar focus on HopeTech/Taiyo. SE is kind of all over.
    2. Crew skills do not stack, exactly. Once you the player max out a ship skill a crew member’s doesn’t exactly stack.
    3. Max potential power units can range from 45-49. Best C class reactor(s) have 40 by default. Get the power skill in science to increase further. Sam Coe adds a power bar to piloting and 2 characters (including Vasco) also add 1 power bar to shields.
    4. You are not specific with shields. Power allocation to weapons affects reload/recharge speed. Power allocation to shields affects the actual protective power. Even if you have a 12 power shield, if you only put 1 power bar into it you will only have 1/12th the actual shield power.
    5. Using max level engines is vital if you want to actually have cargo space. The speed difference between 130-140-150 isn’t that much. In game, with piloting skills maxed, you will still be flying between 210-220 ish regardless of engine class… (with max power to the engines regardless of total built power level) but the higher the engine class the much greater the mobility, which allows much more cargo.
    6. If you are struggling with the Key you still have a lot to learn about ships in this game. Power recommendation: build a ship with weapons/shields pre-allocated and proportional to the power you have. Don’t put parts on the ship with a higher power requirement than what your generator actually produces (except grav drives, which only need 1 power bar as the power bar only affects countdown and not actual range). You’ll be much more effective in combat with a ship matched to your reactor power level rather than trying to “play the mini game” during combat.
    7. This is deceptive… but non-automatic rate of fire guns and turrets (reload less than or equal to 2) tend to be much better in prolonged fights because you can consistently fire 100% of the time at all attack angles without pro-longed recharging. Weapon raw firepower is offset/higher with slower rate of fire weapons, but they are much more consistently available at all times.
***** I say all of this after nearly 600 hours of game play and consistent testing and only getting shot out of space 3 times.
    8. Potential spoiler… there is a class C particle turret that unlocks for Freestar Space at level 61 that is a borderline broken weapon for how powerful it is.
    9. Max/length width is really around 68 meters from an immersion perspective, because if you build to the full 80m in length you will start clipping objects at certain hand-made landing areas. It’s awkward… but map designers didn’t design the landing areas to actually be big enough for the biggest ships in the game.

I got much more in depth in the actual guide video I made, I specify there about all the things you mentioned, except the part about equipping for your power as powering weapons is not at all important with the right fitting, as a good loadout can kill multiple ships in a row without needing to reload

Nice Ship! Here is some advices about the Battle you are struggling with, The Thick Red Arrow is the closest enemy, you should take care of theses ones first. Second, you should carry ships parts in your cargo hold so you can repair while in battle.. just hit the O key to fix your ship.

Vanguard weapons are completely broken. That said I'm quite sure the Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors are better than the hellfire cannons. I did a bunch of calculations on an excel sheet and basically the cannons are only better if you're constantly facing ships with no shields; but most ships have more shield hp than hull hp. If you use the autoprojectors you will significantly increase your average damage per power point.
Also have in mind, unless you really want the looks, structural hulls are heavier than habs unless it's just 1x1 habs. So if you have 3 hulls in a row and it doesn't mess up your interior too much, you should be replacing them with a 1x3 hab to reduce mass and increase mobility a bit. It will also help with module limit, obviously.

Love the build and appreciate the video. I think the brig is one of my favorite habs, you can actually sleep in those beds. LOL The only issue I can see with this build at all, I don't think you can ever get enough power to run 3 max powered weapons. That would take 36. The reactor I have is 40, and pretty sure that is the best. You can get an extra 5 from Aneutronic Fusion skill being maxed, and a few from certain crew members. But if you want max power to shields, and to have some in engine, which the less you have in engine, the less mobile and slower your top speed will be. I think with top reactor, aneutronic fusion maxed, and crew member who has that skill, I am at 48 right now. Anyway, I think all the weapons still work, but what that actually affects, is your weapons run out way faster if they are underpowered.

AWESOME build mate! I coppied it to a degree but I made a few improvements to it I think. Same weapon loadout, but my skills need to be upgraded a bit. The ship itself has 420 Fuel, 1555 Hull 4448 Cargo, 320 Shielded Cargo, 41 Reactor, 11 Crew, 30LY jump, 1920 SHield, Mobility of 70, Mass sitting at 2251. I made a few changed to fit the best Reactor and Jump Drive in back and a different color scheme. Overall I am very happy with it. TY. Just wish I could screenshot it so I could show you, but it seems not to work.

You can block some ladders by taking a weapon mount or port hole and put it on the hab connection points then set hab in place change the type then change back to the one you want then release and then you got ladders were you want them. There are video's on it cause I was getting infuriated of ladders and found this work around. Great ship build good gaming to you.

I followed this and made a small adjustment. The 2x2 living quarters not having any beds bothered me, so I changed the companionway next to it into a 2x1 living quarters and moved the shield to the back middle. hooked under the aft deimos cowling. I just couldn't see the crew all sharing the Clcpt quarters bed. Having been in the Navy, you don't share bunks generally on a ship, but on subs you do. There's two beds in the 2x1 living quarters, and the crew can share them.

One trick that applies mostly to XBOX users, you have both the ability to select *everything,* and the ability to select *everything attached.* You can of course press the select all button, but double-clicking lets you select everything in that "clump," so separating things out and painting in groups is technically viable.

We really need two connectors cockpits and bridges for proportion reasons. Also more half points for aesthetics, it is very hard to create something that doesn't look bulky without going 2:5:7(and that's just GIANT very hard to appreciate it from ground) or 1:3:5.

A great tip for people looking to do a lot of crafting! Build a usless ship with as much cargo as possible. Stalk up on resources, send them to the cargo hold, then switch ships to your favorit ship. No matter how much you have in the hold it will stay in your good battleship. Mine only has 200 cargo but it has 10000 pounds of resources in it 😂

@@bentrally you have to switch to your oversized cargo ship when you want to add stuff. This includes missions that require cargo space. Take the mission, change your ship to one you actually like, then do said mission for some good credits and xp

I think they made the structural parts have no hull value but a bit of mass so people do not just have the basics and build flying bricks.
THAT Part of the ship builder is quite greatly thought through imo. But Doors ... man. :D
Doors seem to have a priority system.
You place a hab, that one has a preferred doorway in basically a priority order so it does not impact for example extra containers or workstations where people stand in the way possibly etc.
And on top of that, it merges with the connected habs prio system. That way sometimes the whole prio order gets thrown off if you place a specific hab.
Try it, just replace the hab with another type and most likely the doorways and ladders will be different again, but always the same when you place the first hab type.
most times companionways seem to have priority over the ladders. so there SEEMS to be also some system behind that prioritizes the habs themselfes. The deimos or Stroud Eklund workshop for example kinda does not work on the outer right side of a ship.
To this build: if you use the nova armory instead of the deimos one you might get the door to the infirmary.
i for example placed a hopetech armory to the 2x2 deimos brig since it also has a cell. its like a high profile cell with armory ... also hoping they get a use some day. :D
But since there seems to be priority sidedoors, its working out as a fine extension.
This system is ... interesting, but since its nowhere nearly explained, its sometimes just doing absolute nonsense.
i think IF they have a system, a simple post about it from bethesda somewhere would clear a LOT of things up.

Just wanna say that the max reactor is 40, but there is a B class reactor that has 39 power. And it’s a single layer reactor, so it’s great for a smaller ship design without sacrificing much in the way of power output.

I'm learning a shit ton about ship building watching this video. Thanks for making this! I'm curious why you wouldn't replace some of the "hull" components on the bottom with cargo pods? I think there are a few that you can attach underneath and hey if you take a railgun to the cargo bay you lose money, not people :-) Might save some mass on this guy. I'm not high enough level or cash flow to build something like this but I am excited for the possibility. 🙂
