- My thoughts on the Jet performance chip and how it affected my Durango RT. I also talk and show how to install it, along with talking about other mods I currently have and what ill be adding to the Durango RT in the future.

I agree with you on not having enough RT content out there. Last year I got my first ever SUV and got myself a 2019 Wrangler and I’ve been regretting it ever since. I’ve always had sporty sedans, but after having my wrangler I love being higher off the ground and the room I get from a SUV. I’ve been looking at these Durangos for a while now and I think I’ll be getting rid of the Jeep for one. I look forward to seeing what you do to this truck.

DurangoRT I actually wanted to do a supercharger kit on the Wrangler but I just hate how it drives on the highway so I’d rather just get rid of it. Only reason I’m hesitant is I’ve never owned an automatic car and don’t know how I feel about it still. But the Hemi kinda makes me want to do it. Supercharger on the RT would be badass

Yes make sure you saturate the Mr clean magic eraser with wd 40 lightly scrub then polish leather with any good leather container from any auto part store.
Magic eraser also works for scratches just soak eraser with sudsy water then polish💪🏿

it also voids your warranty (all of your warranty) if you put a tune on your vehicle. they don't tell you that at the dealer or on RUclips
Brotha, I literally have the exact same vehicle (Destroyer Gray), right down to the red interior.
My wife gives me a WICKED hard time, because, even though it's got more balls than a herd of bachelor bull elephants, I drive it like a little old lady from Pasadena! Every once in a blue moon, I'll engage the sport mode, if I have to quickly merge onto a highway on-ramp. But, I'm not Cale Yarborough. :-D
Plus, I have little girl.
However, here's what I've done so far, in the form of mods.....
- Running boards
- 24 inch gloss black Wraith wheels from Lexani (I live in Florida...No pot holes, hahaha)
- Dual 13.5 inch TV's for the kid (And, adults, when we take road trips to Miami, Clearwater, etc.)
- LED front blinkers (Significantly brighter than factory)
- I put strip LED chase blinkers on top of the headlight housing, underneath the hood (looks sicker than the Flu!)
- Black leather floor mats, with red cross stitching, to match the interior
- Darker tinted windows
- A black, and red HEMI 5.7 liter badge on either side of the front 1/4 panel
- 2 channel (front, and back) DR900X GPS cameras, with parking mode
- Front cup holder inserts/center console shifter liner, with Durango insignia (red, and black)
- Red steering wheel trim kit
The only other thing I think I'll do, is add red brake calipers covers, engraved with the R/T emblem.

Real mechanics know that peddle commander etc are not real performance mods all it does is reduce resistance for the throttle body. On the gas pedal half now is 100% . You want power you have to go with new unlocked PCM and a tuner as well as new exhaust and a 300 ci supercharger witch will require new fuel pump new fuel rail and injectors 8500 mod plus 1k computer and tuner

I’m a proud owner of a 2019 Dodge Durango RT. I’m debating on a Diablo tune and a unlocked PCM or a chip. There’s plenty of them on the market. I want the best and the most horsepower gain. The whipple supercharger is damn near $8000 not including install and rune. In your opinion are these chips a better option than the Diablo or are they a scam. I’m not tryin to waste money and have to buy a different option because one does not work.

@@ecoperformance7865 eventually forced induction hahaha been looking at the RIPP supercharger. But before that looking at the 6.4 hemi upgrades like cam, intake manifold and some long tube headers
order a set up from jay greene performance he has cam kits that will make your durango shit and get

my 2003 Durango SLT 4.7L (new jersey) failed state inspection because I revved the engine after idleing for over 30 minutes in line, and inspector said, you just failed inspection when I saw smoke from revving the engine... I said that's ridiculous! white smoke in the morning after a mildew day in NJ? that's normal... vehicle passed emissions and everything else but they failed me for Visible smoke. I'm really annoyed because my vehicle is in nice shape and well cared for. Anyone has experienced this? Just venting my frustration with NJ.

Nice video, I also have the same color 2019 AWD Durango. You're right there's no video on performance modifications. I just recently did a mid muffler delete and installed a pedal box, noticed a big difference in acceleration. Looking forward to more of your video. Thanks

There are lots of performance modifications, you need an unlocked PCM before you can do any tuning and you need to use HP Tuners

I think the reason why is ppl who buy domestic cars usually can barely afford the car itself let alone any mods... ppl with exhaust vids don't even know how to Rev up the engine or how to best capture the sound...

What Intake manifold did you throw on there?
Ah it's been so long, I believe it was the Vortex.
I put this shit on my Durango and it ran good for like two weeks my engine light came on and my truck was shaking .. I took that shit off quick as hell.. I’m not goin the cheap way no more.. I will get a pcm ready to go from diablo
I have a 2020 durango rt. And have 87mm ported throddle body, performance coils, 180thermostat , intake. Exhaust system. Installed the jetchip stage 2 and i didn’t notice any difference besides it being more sluggish. I took it off and it runs way better . My 0-60s with the jet chip was 6.87 and when I take it off I’m down to 5.9. I love your videos.

Nice I just ordered the jet chip . And the jet throttle body for my 2016 challenger RT.
The throttle body was $600 from jet but the 35% off for 4th of July I got for $400 and the chip I got for $200 .

Hey, no I'm using mid grade so here it's 89. After a real tune ill be using 93 obviously.

Do all these tips and tunes work for 2020 Durango’s ?
My Durango tops out at 117mph. Would this chip make it stop topping out at that?
Mine topped out still on the Dyno at around 122mph So I'd say no.
You'll need an actual tuning device from diablosport or hp tuners or something like that. Avoid ebay chips. Youll want name brand stuff which is somewhat expensive but they work.

@@StromLxrd6 you'll want a tuning device. Tons more options . A chip is mainly what is used on cars older than 1997. 1997 was when the OBD2 port was put in cars which is what the tuning devices use.
To do that I believe you have to unlock the ecu

You can buy it from salvage yards or from ppl replacing theirs... I may be buying a durango soon which has red interior which I plan on swaping out for black interior

Nice video. I have a 2020 Durango RT and have several mods for peak performance (K&N Cold air intake, Borla cat back exhaust, and BBK 90mm throttle body intake. I'm currently debating Diablo stage 2 or Jet Chip install. Warranty void is the sticky point, especially if I don't get top speed limiter removal. I have noticed significant performance improvement and throttle response since the mods were completed. Any suggestions/comments would be highly appreciated.
How do you get a speed limiter removal?
The diablo doesn’t void the warranty if you buy the pcm kit. It’s pricey but all you do is plug the old one back in when you go to the dealer!
Did you notice better fuel mileage?

So you basically wasted your money big time on a Jet chip. Explain to me how it does anything to make power on your vehicle when you have a 2019 and the PCM is LOCKED from the factory and none of the values can be changed? If you want to make power step 1 is get your PCM unlocked and use HP Tuners MPVI2 to actually make power. You should return that thing because even if you paid 1 dollar you paid too much. Now before you say it made it faster and better. Where are your baseline dyno's or track times to verify it did anything?
Oh God shut the hell up, I know all about the locked pcms and tuning the 15s and up dodges. I bought the fking thing for $100 and I like it. If I felt a difference I felt a fking difference. My Durango is at 343rwhp with no tune, headers, exhaust, cai, and tb. Wtf was the point if your comment? If $100 is a lot to you than you're poor and sucks to be you. I will tune my Durango the right way after bike season is over with. 🖕 fcuk off
@@ecoperformance7865 Placebo is a great thing isn't it. That 100$ would have been better spent buying 2 of the 6 credits needed to tune with HP Tuners. Again if you know the PCM is locked then explain to me how it made a difference "because you felt a difference" if the PCM is unable to change anything above and beyond factory then something like the JET chip does nothing. You could have not had that mod and still got the exact numbers you did on the dyno. To state things like the JET chip work is simply misleading and telling people false information. Onus is on you to PROVE that JET chip did something when all the facts and reality say otherwise
@@TnTTyler What are your thoughts on the Pedal commander? I think that's bang for the buck since you don't have to unlock the PCM and it at least uses the Durango's true HP since it get's rid of the lag time. You do you think that's a good option? Just got a 2022 Durango RT and am thinking about getting the Pedal Commander. Not looking to do much else but would like a little quicker response time. Wish I could have gotten the tow and go package but it wasn't available anywhere and this car market absolutely sucks. I was on a time crunch unfortunately.
@@Alwaysbeclosing1774 The thing is the pedal commander doesn't make power just changes the gas pedal sensitivity, Its going to change the driving experience a bit, but won't make it faster. Swapping PCM's and tuning through HP tuners is expensive and time consuming so it isn't for everyone. So in your case if sport mode isn't good enough a PC might be what you need
Did anyone have throttle issues with the Jet Xcelorator? (I realize he's not using the xcelerator) I had throttle issues with my Durango RT. But it happened now and then. So I stopped using it and I haven't had any problems. Still not sure if this chip was giving me the problems.
