I’ve owned a Porsche, an Escalade and number of pick ups. The R/T has heated seats & steering wheel - fast enough to get on down the road and is great to travel out at the beach unloading.& loading gear! The R/T is the perfect blend of all three for me, I could use more leg room, however I don’t drive ol girl enough to complain! An engineering marvel, the transmission alone is worth the price of admission! The sound is awesome I love to remote start and just listen, for some reason the R/T Challenger my neighbor has a quieter start up, and sound appears when driven - and I did not see one new nothin! I had just bought ol girl and was heading home to FL from TX, saw a 6.7L we nodded. Light turned green I was still shifting and he was a quarter mile down the road! All I remember were taillights - driver slowed we nodded and I gave a ‘courtesy’ nod. Fastern’ greased lightening! Now I’m 64, retired & living at the beach, every now & then I blow her out 🤣 in the 2 mi to the beach! Peace
Is entry into the third row possible with car seats installed in both mid row buckets? I actually have three car seats. So either I would need a bench second row or I need to be able to access the third row without removing a car seat from the second row. Thanks!
i have a 2018 RT BB5 Blue and the only thing i saw different its the trailer brake assist button and the roof light button was change a little bit ... the rest is almost the same
I like that Dodge doesn't re-design the whole thing. I'd rather have updates. This thing still looks amazing. More manufacturers should do the same. They should just perfect the models they already have instead of starting from scratch. The Dodge Durango is still a very competitive SUV.
I have a 2014 which I love but it’s getting long in the tooth. My year was the first year of the current body style. Time to upgrade interior and exterior. Would love to see a panoramic roof, heads up display, new nav like in the Ram etc... hopefully it’s on the table for 2021.

so what if your parking sensing camera's couldn't also project a blank image where your license plate is to have a bit of privacy in public areas while parked and not moving. Is there any law your plate has to be viewed while you're not driving?
Just rented a 2019 (middle range engine 5. Something litres hemi engine) to drive to Niagara Falls with 6 passengers.looked and sounded like a good SUV and everyone were comfortable. Is that a reliable SUV ?
Rides better than Jeep Grand Cherokee because of the longer wheel base. We went from a V8 Grand Cherokee to the RT no comparison with the 3rd row seating, captains chairs, longer wheel base etc... I’m pretty sure it has better tow capacity as well.
@@adrig8388 Don't know.. covid19 delayed a lot of things. W were suppose to be building the hellcat Durango back in may. But production has been shitty because everybody's scared to work right now. It'll be before the year is out. The Durango just won the JD power quality award so there trying to hurry up and build the damn truck.
I wouldn’t change the toughest looking suv on the road either. Not to mention the price for a 3rd row suv with the resale value these have is amazing. That’s what saves you thousands in the long run
So far the reviews I've seen of different SUVs they all seem to go right into the hood or inside the car instead of starting with a walk around for those that are not that familiar and want to see the shape and "profile" of the car. I for example prefer a boxier profile vs all those smooth edges sameness I keep seeing.
the Durango and Grand Cherokee are not the same vehicle underneath. The Durango underpinnings are from the days of Daimler-Chrysler GL architecture and the current Grand Cherokee is of a Fiat/Alpha Rameo Design. I just hope they aren't going to the older Body on Frame design that is rumored.
The Durango is one of the coolest SUV's out there but the price is high it's better to wait and buy one used in 5.7 hemi I've seen them as low as $36k with only a couple thousand miles and brand new it's going to hit you for $50k and up
I agree but just look for months it’s on sale and check for a great deal on a new one at the last 4 days of every month. They can cut a crazy deal to meat their needed number of sales for bonuses

If you spend $12,000 leasing a new Durango over the three years then your purchase price will be lowered by 10,000 to 12,000 depending on your credit. It’s actually a really good way for most people to not even pay hardly any interest for the first two or three years. I’ve done the math and it can be cheaper to lease and then purchase then to just purchase from the start half the time
I love my 2018 Durango! They look best in class in my opinion. Nice features for the price because dodge usually has great rebates on Durango to make it more than competitive. I love mine. But in typical dodge fashion it has given me my share of headaches.... so there's that 😂😂

The air blew warm. Theres an annoying rattle it's currently in the shop for and also it wont go into gear sometimes....
Mike R just buy a brand new one because Jeep is known as a fun vehicle and Dodge is known as a tough vehicle so people who buy them typically abuse them more than someone who buys a Honda with half the power. If you want one life‘s too short to drive a boring car and my friend bought a brand new 2013 fully loaded Rubicon for $37,000 after putting 108,000 miles on it you never even touch the spark plugs and traded it in to the dealership on the brand new redesign and they gave him $22,000 then sold it for $26,000 at the dealership. If that was any other brand such as a top model Ford Edge or Honda CRV that was bought for $37,000 After 100,000 miles they sell for $14,000 to $15,000 which means trade-in is $12,000 at best So if you want a jeep or Dodge it will save you $10,000 in five years compared to the competition. Now where people get the problems is because they think jeeps are made to take tons of offroad abuse or they don’t know how to Offroad and they tear it up as rock beats metal. Look up videos on RUclips there’s so many people doing dumb things with jeeps and then they blame them for having problems. I’ve even seen someone who came to our dealership bought a used Jeep with 120,000 miles that was lifted with 37 inch tires and beat to death come back and complain that his jeep had problems saying he’ll never buy one again his Chevy lasted 180k miles and I just asked him did the Chevy climb boulders twisting things that wherent meant to be and he got upset.

But it's still frustrating. Never had this problem with any of my Mustangs or my lincoln.... but i genuinely love the way my durango drives and handles and rides. It's so nice... just a little glitchy
And also the gt has the hood with the scoops and vents to make it have the look of a r/t or srt a better look than the other 6cylinders in the durango lineup
So it’s basically the same on the inside since like 2016. Needs a big refresh. I want a Durango so bad too. But compared to the newer SUV/Crossovers it’s looking old
No SUV on the market can compete. Looks wise its better looking than the rest of them, just needs an all new interior and tech. The design will be hard to surpass.
Rogue Leader The 2015 design was done by recruited Mercedes-Benz engineers and is still way nicer than any Subaru which has the technology of a 2011 Durango. Not to mention still nicer than Ford Chevy Honda Toyota Kia. Even police are starting to use the Durango after they ran through several tests and found it was the most durable vehicle up to at least 200,000 miles. Their touchscreen is way easier to use than anybody else’s as well, well it’s not as up-to-date as a new Mercedes it’s half the price in a bigger SUV
I wound up getting a 2014 Limited with the 5.7 there's nothing much different in the RT. Mine looks like a sleeper the Durango RT screams Rad Dad LOL it's still a nice truck however.
Caitlyn Nicole I recommend a 5.7L truck badge that’s what I did and it looks really good. Also a $20 eBay windshield banner for the front and back really completes the look and I get way more compliments now
It's coming. Moving the Durango to the RAM Plant, got delayed because of demand for the RAM Classic. New Durango will be Body on Frame using the RAM chassis.

It’s a 3rd row suv designed by recruited Mercedes Benz engineers. it’s supposed to be heavy and still is lighter than many competitors not to mention way easier screens to use than Chevy ford etc and I see them at dealers for $34k with leather and heated seats what more do you want?
95% of cars out there get refreshed every 5 or 6 years and this is their 5th year of the redesign it’s not at all off track for the average vehicle with nicer quality
Durango Mike I was the same way at first but after driving them I would highly highly recommend a new RT and throw a TwinTurbo on that. It should cost less than 50 grand total after the turbo if you find it on a month with the right discounts That way you can have over 500 hp and that hemi can actually get all the air it needs. In fact the RT and SRT feel very similar and I work at a dealership so I’ve driven these cars a few times. If you want I would go test drive one so you can think about before making a decision and test drive a jeep grand Cherokee SRT 2015 or newer to get the same speed as the Durango SRT.

FCA engineers need to update the Journey, Durango, Grand Cherokee, 300, Charger and Challenger are getting old too. Over priced for the same model as 2016 lol.
I see what you mean as they’re based on the 2015 redesign. But look at how nice all the materials are and all the electronics you get in the dash, as well as The best touchscreen on the market compared to a Toyota. They’re 2020 4runner design is so old looking and cheap quality not to mention Toyota and Subaru both don’t have the technology of a 2015 dodge or jeep which is ironic because they’re still cheaper than the competition. Not to mention i’ve seen a few Durango’s with leather seats, 8” touchscreens and many more features for $35,000 after discounts. A base Tahoe cost more than that and you’ll lose thousands more in depreciation in a Tahoe which is money just disappearing. Overall the quality materials were nicer than Mercedes or BMW in 2015 if you directly compare them and most vehicles only refresh themselves every five years
I don't understand how dodge justifies the price difference from a V6 charger base price of $30,795 to ridiculous jump to $44,395 🤣 that's a $13,600 difference. My Charger 392 base is only 10k price difference from a V6 charger base. This R/T doesn't even have a 6.4 it only has the 5.7. what are you getting for that extra 13k? It's gonna be a no from me. Maybe I would consider a gently used one, but even then.
Dodge is literally so sad. They haven’t updated any of their cars in years. Some of them look like they’re from 2008. The only cars they kind of pay attention to is the charger and challenger.
Designed by Mercedes-Benz engineers just five years ago. No need to change the toughest looking SUV on the market with very nice quality materials for the mid $30,000 price range
They need the in-dash screen from the Ram. And Dodge needs to stop putting the hood scoops on anything less than the SRT. You want the hood scoop then pay up!

$35,000 for a 3rd row suv with leather, 300hp, most user friendly electronics on the market. 8.4” touchscreen and huge center screen. What else touches that price and that’s sticker off an SXT before discounts!

After they got new management in 2008 Because of these issues they recruited Mercedes-Benz engineers. After that all the police tests realized they’re the best vehicles to handle the amount of abuse they give their cars. They had more technology in 2011 then a new Subaru does, just look at their dash they had more technology in 2011 then a new Subaru does, just look at their dash. I would to the dealership for a long time and have a coworker who has for over 20 years he said people used to have issues with them but now there’s a reason why dodge alone sold as many cars as Subaru did last year well only having five models to choose from. And having very high customer satisfaction and reliability

You realize you can find vehicles that aren’t even one year old for sale all the time every manufacture and some of them even have leases that only last a year. when a 2020 comes out in 2019 and you lease it for a year you can find a used one in 2020 easily
Who are these customers your talking about? My bosses get 2-4 new cars every year to hit their sales mark and get bonuses and that plus rental companies are why u see used ones. I also talk to hundreds of people a year who own them as part of my job is to get people who own that vehicle back for a new one from the service department (getting oil changes) or repeat customers and I see positive things everyday....
Seriously long in the tooth. FCA is such a one trick pony. They think the solution to everything is a Hemi. Their line ups in general is pretty pathetic. The Hellcat and SRT vehicles are impressive but the rest of their offerings are FAR behind the competition - even domestically. They need a refresh across their entire line up. No innovation. No hybrids, no electric options on the horizon - just more Hemis. Ford and Chevy are crushing them, and they cannot compete with them. They can't even compete with Kia/Hyundai when it comes to regular family vehicles. Sedans and small sedans/crossovers? Getting crushed by everyone. I like Chrysler/Dodge and have had 5 good ones, but nowadays if it's not an SRT or Hellcat, it's well behind other offerings on the market.
You’re right, a 3rd row tough suv that’s faster than The average sports car made today. No SUV on the market can compete. Looks wise its better looking than the rest of them, just needs an all new interior and tech. The design will be hard to surpass.
Rogue Leader The 2015 design was done by recruited Mercedes-Benz engineers and is still way nicer than any Subaru which has the technology of a 2011 Durango. Not to mention still nicer than Ford Chevy Honda Toyota Kia. Even police are starting to use the Durango after they ran through several tests and found it was the most durable vehicle up to at least 200,000 miles.
Their touchscreen is way easier to use than anybody else’s as well, well it’s not as up-to-date as a new Mercedes it’s half the price in a bigger SUV
I would lease one with a two year lease and then you can have the redesign once they come out.
I wound up getting a 2014 Limited with the 5.7 there's nothing much different in the RT. Mine looks like a sleeper the Durango RT screams Rad Dad LOL it's still a nice truck however.

It's coming. Moving the Durango to the RAM Plant, got delayed because of demand for the RAM Classic. New Durango will be Body on Frame using the RAM chassis.

95% of cars out there get refreshed every 5 or 6 years and this is their 5th year of the redesign it’s not at all off track for the average vehicle with nicer quality
Decent review, I love my 2016 R/T. But for that price I will go with a used SRT.
Durango Mike I was the same way at first but after driving them I would highly highly recommend a new RT and throw a TwinTurbo on that. It should cost less than 50 grand total after the turbo if you find it on a month with the right discounts
That way you can have over 500 hp and that hemi can actually get all the air it needs. In fact the RT and SRT feel very similar and I work at a dealership so I’ve driven these cars a few times.
If you want I would go test drive one so you can think about before making a decision and test drive a jeep grand Cherokee SRT 2015 or newer to get the same speed as the Durango SRT.

I see what you mean as they’re based on the 2015 redesign. But look at how nice all the materials are and all the electronics you get in the dash, as well as The best touchscreen on the market compared to a Toyota. They’re 2020 4runner design is so old looking and cheap quality not to mention Toyota and Subaru both don’t have the technology of a 2015 dodge or jeep which is ironic because they’re still cheaper than the competition.
Not to mention i’ve seen a few Durango’s with leather seats, 8” touchscreens and many more features for $35,000 after discounts. A base Tahoe cost more than that and you’ll lose thousands more in depreciation in a Tahoe which is money just disappearing.
Overall the quality materials were nicer than Mercedes or BMW in 2015 if you directly compare them and most vehicles only refresh themselves every five years

I don't understand how dodge justifies the price difference from a V6 charger base price of $30,795 to ridiculous jump to $44,395 🤣 that's a $13,600 difference. My Charger 392 base is only 10k price difference from a V6 charger base. This R/T doesn't even have a 6.4 it only has the 5.7. what are you getting for that extra 13k? It's gonna be a no from me. Maybe I would consider a gently used one, but even then.

After that all the police tests realized they’re the best vehicles to handle the amount of abuse they give their cars. They had more technology in 2011 then a new Subaru does, just look at their dash they had more technology in 2011 then a new Subaru does, just look at their dash.
I would to the dealership for a long time and have a coworker who has for over 20 years he said people used to have issues with them but now there’s a reason why dodge alone sold as many cars as Subaru did last year well only having five models to choose from. when a 2020 comes out in 2019 and you lease it for a year you can find a used one in 2020 easily
Who are these customers your talking about? My bosses get 2-4 new cars every year to hit their sales mark and get bonuses and that plus rental companies are why u see used ones.
I also talk to hundreds of people a year who own them as part of my job is to get people who own that vehicle back for a new one from the service department (getting oil changes) or repeat customers and I see positive things everyday....

Seriously long in the tooth. FCA is such a one trick pony. They think the solution to everything is a Hemi. Their line ups in general is pretty pathetic. The Hellcat and SRT vehicles are impressive but the rest of their offerings are FAR behind the competition - even domestically. They need a refresh across their entire line up. No innovation. No hybrids, no electric options on the horizon - just more Hemis. Ford and Chevy are crushing them, and they cannot compete with them. They can't even compete with Kia/Hyundai when it comes to regular family vehicles. Sedans and small sedans/crossovers? Getting crushed by everyone. I like Chrysler/Dodge and have had 5 good ones, but nowadays if it's not an SRT or Hellcat, it's well behind other offerings on the market.

My friend bought a brand new RT in 2013 for $37,000 and after 108,000 miles he traded it into the dealership on a brand new one and they gave him $22,000 then sold it for $26,000
If that was a $37,000 Tahoe, or Ford Explorer Look at the trade in value on those.
By owning the Durango people save $6000-$8000 over a Chevy or Ford in five years. Not to mention they can get 25 mpg with 305hp
