Durango all day! Better features and in my opinion it looks better. We actually did some shopping and chose the Durango over the jeep ourselves. Liked the interior better and the front end/hellcat look is 🔥.
As a mopar msn even though they're under the same umbrella I would choose the Durango for the following reasons: 1: Cargo space 2: Stance 3: The way the center console is laid out 4: The aggressive sound and appearance

If you have the opportunity look up 2013 charger awd, it might be a r&t article explaining the awd system, it's all automatic as to when it goes into awd.
I’ve had two Jeep’s and got tired of recalls. Bought a 2022 Durango RT plus. In my opinion, it drives much better and sounds great. But I haven’t had it long.
Can't believe that Jeep has not come out with a three row Jeep all these years. They have definitely left sales out there for Tahoe and now Expedition to take with no competition.
They don't need it because you have the Citadel Durango. The Jeep is more luxury oriented. The Durango has a very smooth ride too because of its longer wheelbase.
Paul M that all changes soon enough my friend. The Jeep Wagoneer is set to be released and it is a full sized SUV with beautiful curves and styling. Made right here in my home town of Detroit Michigan. I also have the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X with the Hemi so I (in regards to the video) agree that Jeep overwhelms the Durango.

@@Shovelups 2 kids in. 2 car seats. 3rd row comes in handy. Plenty of trunk space. Always driving in sport mode. Gas mileage great. No complaints or recalls. Id say durango!
My dad currently drives a grand cherokee and wants a limited X. He chooses the Grand Cherokee because he has no need for the third row seat, and because he thinks the Durango is ugly 😂
I’ve had two Durango’s; albeit not in the last decade and am on my second Grand Cherokee 2020 High Altitude V8. Question for all you current Durango people: can you get air ride suspension on any but the top models? In the GC you can get that on the mid range models (like my current GC) all the way up. Once you ride on air, you don’t want to go backwards….!
Looked at both of these and the Durango won hands down. Bought myself a 2018 R/T fully loaded, captains chairs second row, red stitched seats and matching leather wrapped dash. Amazing vehicle and looks incredible, gets lots of looks. Plus having 3 kids that extra row was a big win for us
@@ImKP depends on the type of driving experience you want. And out where I live, a similar year and trim level in a Tahoe is more expensive but feels cheaper inside. A Durango R/T is a more sporty driving experience, much more fun. Driving a Tahoe feels more like driving a pick up truck. And even though it’s physically bigger than a Durango, because its body on frame, you lose some of that interior space due to the frame vs the unibody of the Durango. @@1BadVan definitely going with the Durango then. Especially since you’ve had other vehicles to compare to and still choose the Durango. Honestly, thank you so much for your responses! I hope you have a blessed one! You’ve helped a lot 🙏🏻
I have a Durango, there very reliable, your probably one of those Dodge Journey people, those are not reliable, built cheap that's why there half the cost
I'm on my second Durango RT,I like the Jeep, but Durango 's front end is far more aggressive looking IMHO. And those 3rd row seats can actually accommodate 2 adults if needed. If you fold the 3rd row seats....the trunk is much deeper. When I buy an SUV, I would like it to be as practical as possible. My only complaint is that the power tailgate doesn't open all the way up.....so if you are a taller guy....you gotta stay closer to the bumper when you close it and kinda move to the side....cuz everytime I walk backwards..... it BANGS my head ,even when it's all the way up and I'm only 6 1" . Other than that love the whole package and it's pretty fuel efficient for a V8, thanks to the 8 speed transmission, RPM stays low. Excellent for towing boats also and very comfy seats for longer rides.

I’ve had both. Loved both too but will take the Grand Cherokee now, knowing what I know. Both were hit and totaled out (in the same year!) and the GC retained the most value, even though the Durango had less miles and more features than my Grand Cherokee.
The Durango looks like a minivan from the rear. I love them both but went with the Grand Cherokee looks and off-road capabilities were my main reasons.
aive owned both, never had the grand with a V8 thought truthfully theres nothing better on the road than these two vehicles to me. hop to get another grand to park next to my rango.
this is an awesome video comparison! Was looking for a good one and found this. I love both... I personally wish the durango had some of the off road controls that the Cherokee has like: snow, sand etc.. but I personally want the big monster Durango cause I have two kids and 3 big dogs and when going out with friends and family I hate taking multiple cars. But i wouldn't say no to either if someone was to give me one!
Everyone will have there opinion on what looks good, I would take the Durango any day for multiple reasons, you get in a keep over the Durango, you feel like your riding a golf cart

Storm Trooper ? LOL i'm trying to decide on the two of them, currently own a 2008 Overland and think that being near the beach, the Jeep would be a better choice.

I’m team Jeep forsure! I plan to get one really soon although my mom has a Durango and they are super super similar ☝🏾 but there’s just something about that Jeep 😍
I recently found out that I'm having another kid, so I looked into these Durangos. It's a 100% no from me.. I own a 2019 Charger 392 scatpack. I absolutely love my car. So looking into a family SUV like this was a no brainier. But these 392 and even the hellcat versions of these Durangos and jeeps are outrageously over priced. How do I know? A base price V6 charger is $29,995. A base price Charger 392 scatpack runs $39,995. That's a 10k difference for what amounts to a bigger motor, bigger breaks, upgraded suspension and maybe a better transmission?. That's it, 10k seems like a reasonable price for what you get. Now do the same for a base V6 Durango...it will run you $30,795. Now let's take a look at the base price of a 392 Durango. It's gonna set you back $62,995 WHAT!!!??? THATS OVER A $32k difference! Dodge are you insane?!?! I can buy two V6 Durangos for the price of one 329 🤣. And what do you get for that extra 32k? Nothing more than what a base Charger scatpack gives you, ohh wait no, you get leather and AWD 😂 yeah that sounds perfectly reasonable. Dodge I love you, but you've gone insane and I can't believe anyone would shell out 62k for a Durango that essentially looks the same as a base v6. No thank you, I'll stick to my Charger until I have a 3rd kid. The 5.7 don't fair any better on price jump.
I agree - the SRT is way out there. But I disagree that the 5.7 (RT) doesn't do any better. The difference between the RT and SRT, real world, is about $20K. That puts the RT well within a reasonable range IMO, while the SRT is, as you said, insanely priced for the upgrade you're getting. RT FTW.
Considering that the R/T charger runs $36,495, a price difference of $6,500 from the base SXT V6 charger. But when you flip it around and look at the R/T Durango (which mechanically is no different than the charger RT) is priced at $44,395. When you do the math that's $13,574 price difference between the V6 base Durango and an R/T model. (So not quite 20k like you think) It seems to me like all they're doing is taking the price difference from the charger equivalent and just doubling it. I've made comments on other videos, and some people try to attack me for comparing a charger to a Durango, but I'm not comparing a charger to a Durango I'm comparing price jumps and when you see that you're essentially getting the same thing in both vehicles it's kind of crazy to see that big of a gap in price.
DURANGOOOO! Hands down with that exhuast... Don't need no third row, or the entertainment, not even a radio! As said, exhaust and motor is the best music! In fact, take out 2nd row, too! Just my girl, giant cooler, and indoor smokeless grill....DONE!!!
I would do the Durango because I already have the 2000 5.9 Magnum and LOVE these vehicles. I don't use the 3rd row but like the option. So, if I had the money I would get another one.
Wait a minute. You're comparing apples to oranges. Both GC and Durango CAN have bench second row. Or both CAN have captains chairs. You show a Durango with the captain's chairs option and the Grand Cherokee with the bench seat option implying that you always get bench with GC and captain's chairs with Durango. Same with the entertainment option. Both Durango and Grand Cherokee CAN be fitted with the option. It's not just on the Durango. Nor is is stock on the Durango. It's an option that costs more than $2000. In fact, it seems like you don't really know either of these cars at all and are just comparing a random R/T against a random Grand Cherokee flying by the seat of your pants and you're making out as if one model gives your such and such and the other model gives you different such and such. That's outright wrong and misleading. If you're going to represent yourself as an authority with the smarts to be able to compare the two vehicles, at least take the time to school up on readily-available information from the web before you mislead viewers. Sheer laziness.
the folding third Row seat was the difference between the two cars... personal opinion.. Durango wins the comparison cuz it gives it owner a choice what to put in the back of their car... people or stuff...
The Jeep Grand Cherokee looks and is more elegant than the Dodge Durango. You never see a Dodge anything parked in front of an upscale house or at the country club. You see Grand Cherokee Overlands all the time. The Durango is unfortunately a Dodge and appeals to the NASCAR / Hillbilly / no college-degree crowd with 84 months of payments (most in default), step kids, 2nd wives who are uneducated and larger , bankruptcies in their past, and a love of split entry houses.
Longer wheelbase Durango equals more stability at speed.. My 14 Durango RT is a Blast... Tows Great in the near triple digit mph range.. Better looking Station Wagon for sure! Cant wait for Redeye Durango... Gotta Be A Wagon! I just couldn't let go of Little Red
Oh no, no upgrades. I only changed the starter, water pump, radiator, and motor mounts. Now, I need to change my lower control arms! And I'm installing only Mopar originals.
Something that I’ve noticed about Jeep is that the 7 inch screen has a better backup camera than the 8.4 inch screen. My guess is that it’s the same camera but it’s stretched for the 8.4 that’s why it doesn’t look as good.
Had my choice, went with a 2019 Cherokee Latitude Plus/Altitude, Velvet Red w/the blackout ascents, is Beautiful. And like you said, only have to change out the exhaust, which is next on the list. Just picked up the Jeep a few months ago. Love it 😍
@@panqakes24 No, with all the crap going on, other priorities came up, still the plan, nothing fancy, thinking Flowmaster, the 40 series. Want a lill rumble 😜 👍🏼❤️🇺🇸🤠
Drove the Durango R/T hemi and had a blast haven't drove the Jeep but wouldn't mind taking either one I'm sure the Jeep will give me the same excitement the Durango did.....but my first choice might be the Durango since I already drove one
My choice would be the Jeep Grand Cherokee. More stylish over the Durango and has more off road capabilities. In addition to that in a head to head matchup from a racing standpoint the Jeep Grand Cherokee would win despite the engines in both vehicles being exactly the same. Without the 3rd row seating that makes the Jeep a little lighter which would give it the racing advantage, plus the design is a pinch more aerodynamic over the Durango.
I own the high altitude trim. But i prefer the look of the Durango i just think it looks more aggressive i didn't get the Durango because i didn't need the third row
Durango for sure....drive that jeep down the road with the other 500,000 you'll see. Plus square exhaust on the x always looks twisted IMO. Plus Durango looks way more bad a**
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and it is not much different than this one. It is a V8, 5.7 and it is surprisingly really good on gas. I have had it for a year and no complaints at all. I would take it over the Durango any day. Grand Cherokee is more stylish, can go off road and has a little bit of a luxurious look to it also.
As a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude owner. I didnt like the Mini Van look from the back of the Durango plus my Jeep has about 12 speakers and a Subwoofer in the back right corner (yes, its stuck and it bumps) and they all have set warmers plus the power these Jeeps have to take on any torain I want to take on 😎🤘
I have both. Durango is louder and it can intimidate more durign driving. Jeep grand cherokee is more elegant and it has offroad capabilities. Also the space of the durango is way better if you want to get more family in or even load stuff. Both are really great vehicles. If you ask me, I enjoy way more when driving the durango. I hope this can help someone to make his / her final decision.

1 row and a sleeper lol
Durango wins the comparison cuz it gives it owner a choice what to put in the back of their car... people or stuff...
wow the durango even sounds better than my 2019 ram with stock exhaust
Jed Knutson it’s kind of strange
Durango jus looks more
Sporty to me an aggressive I like the rear I mean the taillights look so bad ass on Durango
DODGE DURANGO SRT V8 . Wow
There is nothing BETTER .
Just like he said don’t need the third row by the price point jeep all the way
If you got rid of TVs and tow package Durango would be cheaper apple's to apple's.
Durango looks more muscle! Both nice n the vents on the Durango are totally functional
Yea the Durango vents are ALL FUNCTIONAL.
I think the Grand Cherokee looks better, but I'd still take the Durango, because its bigger (which is better for traveling with a family).
I'm going with the Durango I got a family of 6 so Cherokee is to small
Mike Dyess *Grand Cherokee
Definitely Jeep !!! I have end love my Summit!!!
You still own it? Was it the 5.7 hemi?
Yes, I still have my Summit. It is a 5.7 Hemi.
@@RedisN76 good deal. Did you do any minor upgrades, if not appreciate the info im getting a summit or limited X soon
Oh no, no upgrades. I only changed the starter, water pump, radiator, and motor mounts. Now, I need to change my lower control arms! And I'm installing only Mopar originals.
@@RedisN76 yep only Mopar upgrades and i didnt even think to upgrade the minor things so ill for sure handle that before i add HP
Just bought Durango RT 👍
Jeep all day periodddd and yes I am a Jeep guy perioddd I have 3 but the dodge is nice also great video both are great suvs.
DURANGO ALL DAY!!! It looks meaner and sounds better.
My 2017 Blacked our Durango with red/black interior our classes any Jeep Cherokee 365 days a year
Something that I’ve noticed about Jeep is that the 7 inch screen has a better backup camera than the 8.4 inch screen.
Love it 😍
Threewolfs 45-70 did you get the Cherokee or Grand Cherokee?
Eric Strunk Cherokee, don’t like the front end of the Grand, nor there center console.
Did you end up changing out the exhaust yet and what did you go with?
Like said below, durango beast love it.. Even got rear ended by a 2500 truck and minor damage took like champ
Durango
Copy SUV (Twins)
I was faced with the same decision but srt, grand Cherokee just a bit beefier looking too.....plus I don’t need the 3rd row
Durango..fit's family and kid's.
Sooo yeah there you have it. 🙌🏾👍🏾
I own the high altitude trim. But i prefer the look of the Durango i just think it looks more aggressive i didn't get the Durango because i didn't need the third row
I like the Jeep look more lol
Durango !
Happy thanksgiving 🦃
revistadearmas you as well!
I didnt like the Mini Van look from the back of the Durango plus my Jeep has about 12 speakers and a Subwoofer in the back right corner (yes, its stuck and it bumps) and they all have set warmers plus the power these Jeeps have to take on any torain I want to take on 😎🤘
So 7 less speakers than my RT? weird flex but ok..
If the Durango got a cross sport look sheesh
I have both. Durango is louder and it can intimidate more durign driving. Jeep grand cherokee is more elegant and it has offroad capabilities. Also the space of the durango is way better if you want to get more family in or even load stuff. Both are really great vehicles. If you ask me, I enjoy way more when driving the durango. I hope this can help someone to make his / her final decision.
The Durango also drives smoother because of the longer wheelbase
Durango!!!!
Durango ! 3 rows+more room+TVs for the kidos 👌🏻I wish it was an AwD though 😅
Emanuel Garza they come in AWD and Rear wheel drive. I have a 2020 R/T
The 4// on the back of the Rangos is Dodge’s new “AWD” emblem.
This reviewer doesn’t realize that.
Treeslayer60538 nice! I’m putting in the order for my 2020 RT this weekend. Destroyer Grey/Blacktop with the red leather seats 🔥
Grand Cherokee, I'm an my 3 one, last 2 have been Summitts. Love them
You still own them? And if so are they v8
The Durango Is Basically A Charger But In A SUV Form.
