Terrific work on this review. I like that you got into the origins of the frame being a Mercedes chassis. And I didn’t know the transmission was used in Rolls Royce vehicles. I have the same year and same trim. Learned a lot of new information about my Rango. Keep on killing it.
Great review. Went from a honda pilot to an R/T. Leveled up on everything. Including the factory DVD players for the kids. Gets so many compliments. Red leather is also such a nice touch! Much more fun to drive everyday.
Why and how is it so detuned from the factory? The same engine makes more power in the charger and challenger. Also doesn’t sound nearly as good. No active exhaust? My wife has been using my charger rt every chance she gets so I’m looking at getting her one of these. The mark up on 2023 is ridiculous and depreciating value of new hemi vehicles is insane as they’re being discontinued. Looking at 2020-2021, maybe 2022 if I find a good deal. Where do I find the missing horsepower on these? I’m a fan, looks like a charger with a taller roofline. She’s going to test drive one tomorrow. We’ll See how it goes. Definitely needs an exhaust or a variable exhaust cut out. Good job on the review.
I’m pretty sure it’s as simple as an air/fuel ratio tuning within the ecu, or even the additional restriction on the exhaust. The charger and challenger have different mufflers, and that’s why they sound much better. I’m sure it’s a marketing tactic between what Dodge is attempting to sell their vehicles as (muscle cars vs. 3 row SUV). If you want to make up some additional horsepower on the Durango, I’d go for a boxed cold air intake, new headers, and a full exhaust to free up the hemi (it’ll sing too). Good luck with your endeavors.
Looks good...add a K&N air filter if you like moving slow vehicles in the left lane...sounds amazing...gonna miss my 2011 RT but had over 100,000...still ran good but the 2021 Nightfall edition Telluride was calling my name and truthfully I don't miss the power...ride is smoother and the cabin is airer plus I don't see a million of them on the road...I still got love for the Durango...enjoy 😉
@@chris99161 Really? You must live by the plant in Georgia 😂🤣...Durango's are a dime a dozen...about 5 yrs from now I'll say the same about the Telluride.
That price seems a little bit high for a 2019 with that many miles. I’ve seen Washington examples go for the high 30’s. Then again it’s the Canadian Market which is always weird. If you can talk them down a little bit, it’s a definite buy.
Make sure you test drive it and all the service records are in order. Make sure the lifters are functioning properly and the transmission isn’t being finicky. If you feel content with the car, go for it.

Dodge currently offering 6100 in incentives on RT. Can I expect to negotiate off that further or will they not negotiate since they are discounting 6100 already? I am getting mixed feedback from dealers. I'm in NJ.
Rich Thank you for reaching out. I am in Seattle and the incentives here are up to $5,850. However, you should expect another 3k-4K off of 2020 RT model as dealer discount, especially if the vehicle is already on the dealer lot.
@@rich1958 whatever you do, stay away from Freehold Dodge & RAM. They wouldn't honor Truecar, nor offer any discounts besides rebates/incentives. Bought from a Pennsylvania dealer instead
ImTheAntidote the Ram Rebel TRX Hellcat hasn’t been brought into production yet, but as soon as it’s released, I will try my best to get my hands on it
how is it possible that you have a different "font type" on the center panel (time and internal temperature indicator). Doesn't it just have an SRT version?
It is a setting that is changed when you go into settings > display > set theme. Because of that, there is a Hellcat Logo. The infotainment system is the same as all the other Durango’s, except for the SRT

Just by looking at those houses in the background I can tell you’re in Wa State lol you are on the east side Bellevue/Kirkland area?
Great review I bought a 2020 R/T Durango and it’s awesome just kinda pulled the trigger to early in a 8 year loan hahaha 🤣
Hows it going now? Im thinking of buying 2019 RT 5.7 v8 red interior with 53k kms on it, its selling for 43000 CAD , should i go for it ?

No.. my late model 2020 did not

Great job again. Is the ride on the softer side or sporty?
Compared to the GT and Citadel trim levels, it is stiffer. I wouldn’t call it hard, In my opinion, it’s just the right amount of stiffness
How did you get the car to notify you about the speed limit?
It’s a built in feature for the 2020 Durango. It can be turned off through the settings.
It’s in the GPS/Maps settings. You can configure it when to warn you like 10mph above the limit, 15 above limit etc.
Damn if only you could review the gtr 😭
