After working at a dealership I see 92% of the time when people treat these vehicles right they go over 100,000 miles without even changing spark plugs Or anything else. Warranty is only there because Dodge knows nothing will happen to it in the first hundred thousand miles unless you abuse it which is why they don’t allow non-Mopar mods because they know people who do those mods treat their vehicles way worse (on average) Having said that I beat the daylights out of my charger and spin my tires at every rice cooker or hybrid, and go rock climbing in my Jeep Wrangler. Warranty shouldn’t matter never drive something u don’t want because of low miles.
Its funny when i hear the 5,7 comes " choked from the factory" with 375 hp, I remember when I was a kid I had a 79 Trans Am from the late 70s those cars were definitely choked out with 185 horse with a 6.6 403 motor, its crazy, 375 hp used to be something to really brag about now that's a starting point
Your wife really wanted a black one and then R/T responds with “yeah they’re great and are really nice rides” 🤣 Good thing you didn’t let your wife have the black one-she’d never stop riding it. She’d never go back to another color- it’s kind of like turning off the pedal commander and going back stock😆
I have to say, you always find a way to make me realize how much I’m missing out on not owning a Mopar. Been watching you for 3 years now I believe your content is one of the best.
As a fellow Durango R/T owner, I think he should continue the upgrades. Although part of me says just get the SRT; but he’d be starting from “scratch” (but a higher level lol)
I did the R/T build and still felt it was slow. I sold it. Bought an SRT and added the Whipple on it. I'm at 760 at the wheels and I'm done. Scary fast and reliable
Durango R/T Plus is basically a Hellcat without the motor. Same brakes, same suspension, same exhaust, just no blower. It is all part of the "Tow n' Go" package. Worth the difference in price considering what the Brimbo upgrade alone will cost.
Just ordered myself one waiting to take delivery! Destroyer grey with red interior. My wife has the 21 R/T and after a month of driving it I had to place an order on a tow and go
If payments are low and you have a vision and love the thrill of the build etc. Id mod it. Having low payments on my RT charger gives me room to have a lot of fun with this car! Loving every minute of it. About to get a cam this summer😎
I got a 2018 RT and love my Durango. Did headers already and intake. Waiting on tuner to get back to me to get the tune done. Can't wait to get it done tho. That Durango sounds really good. It will sound even better with the long tube headers
How do you like it now? Wife convinced me to trade in my challenger and our explorer for a 20 RT durrango all blacked out with the blacktop edition. I love it so far.
Holley sniper manifold! Also the eibach springs. I def reccomend the entire kit spend the money on the shocks and roll bars. EXTREMELY worth it. My magnum handles like a dream now. Im so glad i didnt just get the lowering springs
8:05 totally agree, I just picked up a new 2023 Dodge Durango R/T AWD, and that was the first thing I noticed that the stock brakes just don't seem to be strong enough because it's so heavy. I almost missed my turn twice in two weeks because I couldn't get the Durango slowed down enough. After owning my Durango three weeks, I've noticed it's just too heavy to be any real performance vehicle.
He gonna end up putting a hellcat everything in that truck thought about building up my 5.7 when I had it but I said forget that and just got a 392 big difference less money going to get a dodge durango hemi as we speak. Great suv hellcat red-eye next year until resdesign in 2024
I have an 18rt that I’m pretty happy with the Hemifever tube. He should be happy with the difference. torque management is pretty aggressive on the factory tune so it’s much improved with a tune.
Im on the same mission as this guy! Taking ny Restricted 5.7 in my Jeep and unleashing FIERCE POWER! CAT-back, K&N CAI and Brembo brakes! Pro charger or whipple, HP Tune, is coming soon.
Mostly everyone driving sport coupes sedans and SUVs their windows including the front are tinted dark?!? I guess the cops are tired of pulling everyone over breaking balls in Connecticut.
Gotta love these Durango R/T’s. The wife has one for her to use instead of a minivan.... nice having that sport car/muscle car feel in an SUV while getting great mpg and having AWD is best for winter. I’d just go for the supercharger if I were to mod it out.
The argument as old as the Hemi line-up. Either way I do t think he could go wrong but I’m partial to the Eagle 345. They wake up so easy with a few mods and the lower compression gives you more options
Wow nice r/t, trading mine for a 392 😝. There's a lot of wrong info here though. First the rams have more hp not only because of the cam but the intake manifold, it makes the biggest difference. The ram cam is not $800, its around $200 and probably won't work well with the manifold and gearing... and will make your durango sound like a pickup truck 🤮. Also you can run the eibach springs the LL suspension, I do. Just the back is not as low as advertised because they pump themselves up. You do not need to change to srt struts you would switch to the non LL rear struts only. Not sure what he was talking about with 22" wheels.. I run them and so do a lot of ppl without issue. Oh and the back glass is super dark because its tint over factory tinted glass, not because its long.
If he only has 7 payments on the Maximum I would keep it if it's in good working condition. No point in having two gas guzzlers and use the Maximum to go back & forth from work. And when when his Durango is in the shop you will still have that third car to drive. Great video and sick looking cars!
R/T Life they are man! I feel my Durango is way undertuned it pulls great off the line very nice good low end torque it gets to 100 in no time I’ve had it 115 easy
I don't know where he's getting his info from but every dealer that I have talked to has said that any modifications you do to the internals of the engine voids the warranty.
Some dealerships are a little more relaxed with upgrades. The one he is referring to has a tendency of looking the other way with lightly modded rides or ones that use mopar product upgrades.
yah, that's why I wanted to hear his thoughts on buying an SRT. Some people just want to keep their rides & make it a project car. He will likely get a Jeep SRT 392 to sit next to this - so best of all worlds.
Yea bruh but u ain’t thinking bout da insurance prices differences too.. in the long run the 5.7 still gone save u money even if u do spend money on mods that equal up to a SRT due to cheaper insurance.
I got the same truck, same color, same year and even the same tint's. Love this truck but always speeding. I got a Top Line Radar Detector and Waze always running. Knock on wood I've been save many time with it. Didn't know about the illegal tints on the back. It's a SUV though.
I could not hear everything he said he was going to add for $4000 that would be the best bet to add power. I wish I could get a quick list of those things to do to my DDRT
Very nice Durango! I have a 19 R/T and hearing how much all these mods cost and not getting much power from it. It kind of scares me lol. But I still love it and love the content always bro. Good luck and stay safe out there.

Question for those with much research or experience done, what are the HP limits of the main parts of the Durango? Like what’s the common break point for the Trans, weakest engine parts, and the rest of drivetrain? Would love to get more HP and I know more power is nice but what else should get changed to a stronger part when you get to 450HP and beyond
Me hearing the 5.7 ram cam sounds Awsome probably as cheap as the 6.4 cam for a cheap cam mod also probably 5.7 ram heads flow better to also for torque maybe
A simple supercharger would make this faster than a 392! I have a 2021 Durango Tow N Go (which is all SRT except the engine) I'm going to slap a Whipple 3.0 supercharger on it and will provide me 570 crank HP compared to 475HP in the 392 SRT! And the money I'm spending will still cost LESS than if I were to buy a 392 SRT.
Ya know i love modding cars as much as u do but!! Ripp makes a supercharger thats proven reliability over years for 8k installed ur gains are unreal like 200 whp its insane and he warranties his product.. seems silly to put a cam and longtubes for what 50hp gonna cost him at least 4k with labor that cam job on these motors is a lot of money for the gains u get imo.. love ya brother

Runs great and gets same mileage running on all 8 cylinders, and gets a nice chirp on a 1-2 manual shift now. Be cool to see if your buddy here gets into doing tweaks and mods with his Durango!

I like some Dodge cars. However, it would take a lot for me to buy one. I hate FCA's business model. They deliberately make things more difficult for their customers in order to convince them to spend more money on a higher model. They deliberately choke out their lower models and here are a few examples. A Mopar owner has to pay to unlock their PCM like it is storing national secrets. The Pentastar has the exhaust manifold as part of the head so that you can't install headers and make installing a turbo impractical. The R/T has the most restictive exhaust manifold I've ever seen. The R/T engine internals are all cast and it doesn't even come out of the factory with a limited slip differential. Even my lame @ss V6 Mustang has a forged crank, forged connecting rods, stronger pistons and limited slip differential. I can also install headers and a turbo if I feel like it. There is more support for a car with an engine that Ford stopped making 3 years ago than Dodge provides for their cars. Dodge dealers seem to look for almost any excuse to void a warranty. FCA treats their customers poorly as far as I'm concerned. It would be nice to see FCA spend as much improving their cars as they do on advertising.
@@hu3.789 thats because Chrysler Corporation knows its a world of high adrenaline millenials or midlife crisis adult buyers out there who WILL BUY their products no matter the cost cutting engineering. They use these over powering iron block pushrods engines (HEMIS), underperforming tires with aggressive body cladding as a marketing tool to corner the market.
Hi, do you know Mopar car-back exhaust for Durango RT? Im thinking about buying one, just not sure if it is not too loud in the cabin, especially for passangers at the rear seats during highway speeds?... thanks for you opinion!
I'm conflicted between getting an R/T or SRT. Obviously R/T is cheaper but comes with good HP to start. SRT comes with everything but a lot more expensive.
@@RTLife I know. This is coming from a guy who has a 9th gen si. So I'm looking for a big boy toy with massive power. I dont want to half ass it and not get the SRT. Although the R/T wouldn't be a bad fallback option. I would like to get one in pearlcoat blue. Whichever I could find that has it.
Looking at this to get some ideas because the SRT and Hellcat only has 6 seats and i need 7 seats... don't understand why they couldn't add those into those models... I feel nerfed. the price of having a big family lol.
Could you educate me on the Ram CAM install to boost power? What tuner do you recommend? I’m currently stuck training via Military while the coronavirus is going on! But I still watch your videos for my mods! I got cherry bombs installed and x pipe, with peddle commander. I’m waiting to get home to do air intake!
What type of headers and heads and intake are you planning on putting on I just bought one myself a 5.7 liter and RT Hemi Dodge Durango 2015 I interested what products you were planning on using I want to do the same mods
Great vid 💪🏽 Mr rt life , I have a question not related to this vid , Im actually about to get longtube headers with catledd mids and I have two options because of the cost : Which is better JBA or BBK ? Regarding fitment and gains ?
I'm sorry I don't have any experience with either - that being said the gains should be very similar. Quality I believe are on similar levels (welds, fitment, etc)
Both will do the same exact thing as far as flow however BBK will sound the best out the two. Now Kooks or Pypes ( cheaper copycat of Kooks) would be the very best in overall quality and sound as good if not better than BBK brand. What can you afford is the question.
I'm looking to put good performance parts In my 06 5.7 rt I'm just wondering what is the most reliable website to buy these mods off of? Headers, camshaft, exhaust ext?
I learned a lot from ur video thank you butting out great video. I had one question. I love ur hood on your ride. Do you think that a company makes killer 🐝 hood for a Durango RT??
I was actually considering a 5.7 durango the other day at the dealer but a bit pricy for the 6 banger and the 5.7 is 30 hp down and 2000lb heavier than my ram sport so after that i just said naw,ill pass
I would like to know Where he bought the front lip spoiler 😩😩😩😩 can so one tell me please is an emergency, I need to know where this guy bought his truck body kit PLEASE

Def understand & agree with most of what you wrote. They can do better with the lower trims no question about it.
The part that annoys me is that what FCA is doing is deliberate and underhanded. As you can tell, it gets me annoyed.
I hear you - the Durango SRT is def expensive. It's nice though having that 392 under the hood
Same bro I just got me the 2021 RT I love it but man those SRTs are top dollar !!
the from spoiler looks nice...
what did you/he end up doing since the vid?
I’m the first like keep the videos coming
Nice! Thank you - I appreciate it
I’m late to the party, but where do ya get the work done. I’m in NYC and need to overhaul my 2014 Durango.
Nice Durango rt, what kind of tires and the size on that Durango,,and im in new york where did he go to get the pen stripes down the middle.
Just supercharge it with a few other things and 🔥
What a beauty.
Agreed. this is a really nice looking ride
were did your man find that front bumper for his dodge Durango
it's by "abaza carbon"
@@RTLife hey man that looks great I have a durango too where dis you the bumper lip I been looking around and I csnt find anything please help out
nice car
Agreed
What is the doctors note for exactly? I used to have one for migraines, but that was through my eye doctor. They told me they don't do that anymore!
The doctor note allows you to legally have tinted windows
@@RTLife Is it for a certain "condition"?
@@SJG138 my wife had eye surgery so the doctor allows her to have tinted windows & any car she drives in regularly.
What type of headers and heads and intake are you planning on putting on I just bought one myself a 5.7 liter and RT Hemi Dodge Durango 2015 I interested what products you were planning on using I want to do the same mods
I shouted you out in my last video an i shown my hellcat An i hope to do a video with you soon
We can def do a collaboration at some point. Would be cool showing off that Hellcat
Looks really nice👍😎
yah def a nice ride - he's doing a solid job
Live on Edge but be Safe Bro! 👊🏽
Will do & same to you - Thanks man
You could get an Explorer ST. 400hp and 415 FPT. For $20 k cheaper
That's sick! Where did he get the front lower fender so I can get it for my Durango? I live in Arizona.
I will ask - def makes the front look more aggressive.
@@RTLife I will follow you doing videos on his built
@@RTLife Yes I’m also looking for that chin spoiler and what those side skirts are if you could find out that would be great
What’s the difference between modding and upgrading
No one buys a RT for speed. That 5.7 is solid but it's not exciting like a 392 or Hellcat.
I laugh at hell cats😂😂😂
R/T’s have a higher potential than a 392🤣
Yeah You Must Not Know Brodie .. No One Buys It For Speed ? When That 5.7 Can Hold 750Plus Horsepower Easily .. A Smart Man Buys The RT IYKYK
@@Raaa1111..what are you driving?
@@cliffklimas8324 a 2023 Durango Rt!🤣🤣😂😂all black
Great vid 💪🏽
Mr rt life , I have a question not related to this vid , Im actually about to get longtube headers with catledd mids and I have two options because of the cost :
Which is better JBA or BBK ? Regarding fitment and gains ?
I'm sorry I don't have any experience with either - that being said the gains should be very similar. Quality I believe are on similar levels (welds, fitment, etc)
Both will do the same exact thing as far as flow however BBK will sound the best out the two. Now Kooks or Pypes ( cheaper copycat of Kooks) would be the very best in overall quality and sound as good if not better than BBK brand. What can you afford is the question.
I can say on the Rams the JBA’s fo not fit as well, but you will make great gains on both.
Durango looks amazing! where did you get the racing stripes? also, what was the specific RAM Cam model did you say would fit the Durango RT?
Looks awesome and sounds really good but to get that thing moving it's gonna cost him $$$
yah - def going to cost some $$$
What size of tires & wheels hes got set up? Those are definitely bigger
I want to see the hellcat swap one I got some questions for him
This has a hellcat engine in it
ruclips.net/video/R3ucZq9rUYw/видео.html
R/T Life yea it’s short and no specifications on the build I think you would get a lot of views doing a longer interview on that one
Yah you're right - but you have to work with what you got. No one there was willing to take a moment to chat about it.
💪💪💪
yah this is nice
Blasting bob any drone? What exactly a the exhaust mod? Thanks!
I'm looking to put good performance parts In my 06 5.7 rt I'm just wondering what is the most reliable website to buy these mods off of? Headers, camshaft, exhaust ext?
Check out this website shophemi.com
should i start with a 5.7 charger or 5.7 durango im planning on building the engine up?
Do the tinted headlights affect the brightness of them noticeably at night?
I learned a lot from ur video thank you butting out great video. I had one question. I love ur hood on your ride. Do you think that a company makes killer 🐝 hood for a Durango RT??
They don't make the Killer bee for the Durango but they do have some solid options

@@RTLife thank you, I will always hit the like 👍 you give great insight and videos
What’s the status of his build?
Also is it better to get the SRT right out the gate or build the RT w Tow n Go package?
Bingo, tow n go package is a must.
looking at a 2018 durango 392 , anything you think i should pay special attention too?
Hope you guys in New York stay safe
Thank you - def getting crazy here in NY.
How do u get a ram cam is it safe does it fit in Durango!? Man amazing idea a lot of money tho may do a tune
Hey where did you get your carbon fiber stripes from? Thanks
Any idea where he got the side skirts from? I need those for my RT!
I was actually considering a 5.7 durango the other day at the dealer but a bit pricy for the 6 banger and the 5.7 is 30 hp down and 2000lb heavier than my ram sport so after that i just said naw,ill pass
Did you tint the headlights or you buy it like that
Just wanna ask how you fix a service awd on durango rt. Pls let me know thanks
I would like to know Where he bought the front lip spoiler 😩😩😩😩 can so one tell me please is an emergency, I need to know where this guy bought his truck body kit PLEASE
