    ____________________________________
Bud Anderson was America's highest scoring living fighter ace at the publishing of this video. In his career, he shot down 16 Focke-Wulf Fw 190s and Messerschmitt Bf 109s while flying one of his P-51 Mustangs named 'Old Crow.'
While regularly interviewed, few have asked about stories he had becoming a fighter pilot, downing a Heinkel He 111, serving as a test pilot, or flying combat in Vietnam. Here he will tell us about all of these monumental events in his life.
In this video, Bud Anderson's actual gun camera footage was used.
    Recording Date: 29 October 2022

Thanks Andrew. Nice touch using his actual gun camera footage. I was really glad to hear him talk about the 8th's objective which was to destroy the Luftwaffe prior to D-Day. That's a really important fact that's often left out of the discussion. Too many people think it was about tonnage dropped or factories destroyed. Those things were the means to an end.

Awesome episode. He is super sharp for 100. I bet he could still fly a Mustang.

Wow, I watched his exploits presented in the show, Dogfights (when History Channel still lives up to its name).

Thanks for watching this! Dogfights was a lot of fun. It was too short lived with only two seasons. I guess it's up to RUclipsrs to finish the rest...

Good job Andrew.. FWIIW, Bud's 357th escorted 1st BD attacks at Stettinand Sorau and Cottebus on April 11th. Anderson's squadron got into fight on the way home in Hannover area but 357th was also shooting down 109s from Leipzig to Magdeburg. One of their biggest days of WWII.

Had the pleasure of meeting this legend at The Planes of Fame Airshow in 2010. Our photo came up today in my memories app so I searched his name and saw he is still alive at 102 years old!!!
