ar6 metal mag, with the 120 limb, and heavy bolts. when you consider the new ek archery is 150 quid for a mag, for the cost of 2 mags, which can still wear out and break, the steambow ar6 with metal mag is bomb proof.
in the test, i used the same limb in both systems, the resistance on cocking can be just down to the useage, ive put over a 1,000 shots through the m10 now and like anything plastic, it wears much quicker than anything steel and loosens up faster.
Hi all, I’m a massive fan of the metal magazine and I would always place it in higher regard than the plastic polymer m10 upper. In saying this I haven’t bought or tried it in respect of fairness. I believe the metal magazine gives you the required weight to feel better and be more accurate. In its original form the Ar stinger is too much lightweight to maintain accuracy levels. Adding the metal magazine transforms into half and half, plastic lower/metal upper which is the perfect balance in my opinion. By adding the rail mounts to the bottom and side with attachments gives you more of the weight needed to feel nice and sturdy. I’m happy for those with the m10 to contest me, yet I think having 4 less bolts to throw out is far outweighed by the other benefits of the metal magazine. Thanks Mark for all you’re Steambow content, it’s absolutely brilliant though I’m not sure I want to see you dress as Santa again.
ha ha ha no santa! :) got it, will be the rocky horror picture show next time :) ha ha lol yes i agree, for serious use the metal mag is more sturdy, more reliable, less t go wrong and if your doing a fast mag change on the m10, you cant keep throwing the mags down on the floor, they will eventually break! the poly mag is good for just occasional use, close range, home defence, inside a room. 75lbs ish limb for fast reloads with the razor blade broadheads. the heavy broadheads 90 lbs and over really. as ive run out of stock on those and ordering more material next week, ill have time this week. to film the adderini carbine build guide and then i can start the farimier mini adder then. before the parts arrive.. thanks for the support butty :)
Great comparison video Mark. What's your thoughts on keeping the AR6 loaded with 6 bolts at all times to be ready for action? Is it bad for the bolts or for the tension spring or is it fine? Cheers
I think it should be fine to keep the mag loaded, I wouldn't clip the lid down though, I think long term, the spring would start to bend, so I'd get a spares kit from steambow, while they are available, I'll be ordering a set, next month, when im not skint. lol also 90lbs limb is the max I would go, imagine waking up, bleary eyed, and trying to rapid cock the 120 or 150, your just not gonna get the speed, the 90 is a good compromise.
@@markhuckercelticcrossbows7887 getting the spare kit is a smart idea indeed. I have the 55lbs on a Ar6 compact loaded with the saxon warhead bolts. Will keep the lid open as you said.
yup, even though the claimed power isnt what it says on the tin, the results are impressive. for close range work, which is what they are for, a true 150lbs limb would make the system virtually impossible to use on sustained rapid fire shooting, your arms would be knackered.
Hello Mark, I came across your channel a few weeks back, i love your detailed reviews👍 I've ordered my M10 package and hopefully it arrives before things completely go to shit in the UK ' estimated delivery September" anyways is there any chance you can let me know the total weight of the package? Thanks in advance 👊
if i was in america id want a gmpg, or an m60 lol :) south africa, id pick the m10. uk id go for ar6 allot for regular target work (because we are not legally allowed to hunt) and home protection, 90lbs ar6 with a plastic, folding stock, 2 clips, in the bedside cabinet.
@@markhuckercelticcrossbows7887Cheers, I just had another look and it does actually say it on your target 😂 Think it will handle the EK Archery adder with the 180lb upgrade limb?
@@MrSh4W not under 20 meteres it wont, im using 34lbs limb with the broadhads with a chipboard back stop at 10m and they still slice through. i can honestly say you oneed to be at around 25-30m with the 120lbs limb and broad heads and they still poke out the back.
My M10 upper mag is a rotal disaster. The lock kept getting loose after a few shots and now it has come out. I will have to use a nut and bolt as a lock. The bundle preorders they sold off must have been a bad batch.
@@markhuckercelticcrossbows7887 well it will be more secure than that shit piece of metal rod was. It's only a matter of time when the small piece of wire wares away. As for the warrant? Yea the M-10 has really a design flaw. I got 2 mags and both of them practically disassembled itself after 200 shoots. Very rushed and bad design. I was once a fan of the platform but now I'm looking for more quality stuff and the upcoming Interceptor.
@@StringerBell ive not had that problem, but ive got 5 mags, so not just stuck with one mag, think i`ll give it a go, the the old saying... KISS! keep it simple stupid. \the new ok one will be the same from ek sprave, the more complicated you make it, the more to go wrong.
What no bolt speed comparison. ? ? what`s the point of comparing if there`s no FPS comparison. Probably because the FPS is so faible compared to other pistol crossbows, best not mention it.
its not the speed of the bolt, its the hammer you hit it with, only steers n queers chase bolt speed and you dont look like a steer to me ;) whats the point of a 1 million mile per hour bolr, with 1cm of penetration, when heavy bolt has 6 inchs, that extra inch makes all the difference, ask the mrs :) thats the point!

cheers, thats appreciated :)
Thank you for making this video.
and thank you for watching :) the m10 isn`t for everyone, for me, i still prefer my ar6 alloy. :)
Why is it stiffer in operation than the m10, are the limbs different or summat else? Thanks.

Both magazine springs (AR-6 and M10) are designed to be under tension all the time. You can keep and store all Steambow crossbows fully loaded 😉
Keep bolts loaded at all times, cock and fire. Are you selling anything ? 🏴
Load the bolts, just don't shut the latch that puts pressure on the bolts
if you see on my ar-6 stinger 2. because I fitted a scope rail, I cant use the opens.
3,5 inch in the target? A good weapon goes finally deeper
