Great video! One thing I encountered a lot on insurance jobs, not so much on cash jobs, was insurance companies tend to estimate low waste on the scope. A lot of adjusters will give 5% and nothing more. That works OK on simple roof designs, but when you look at complex roofs with lots of hips and valleys, the waste goes up by a couple percent. Just something to watch out for if you are newer to the business. It sucks to go by the scope and then end up 4 bundles short late in the day with a rain coming in.

How much waste do you add to your measurements?

Dang a simple half a day? Do you have one roofer per shingle lol? To remove everything and sheet it, maybe replacing any bad wood, and roof it.. i dont see how its half a day but if you can see it happen then you got a good crew.. im not a roofer by the way

7-8 guys. Starting at 7am by 9-9:30am all torn off. Most of the trash should go into dumpster. Material loaded up quick and 3-4 guys shingling by then. 12-1pm all done

You mentioned is the house was 22 squares but you didn't say how you got to that point and is a roof square 10 x 10

I had just measure the roof, then decided I'd film a little about it. Yes a square is 100 square foot 10' up x 10' over. Although it can be any shape. 1 square is typically three bundles. They refer to a square because that's how they are stacked on a pallet.
