4iiii offers both left only (less expensive) and dual sided meters. They offer SRAM and some other manufacturer retrofits as well: send in your current crank, and they will retrofit it.
I wish someone would post a dyi gadget. Strain gauges are not hard to mount. Even the circuitry (Wheatstone bridge) is not complicated. But getting it in a readable form is the trick.
Unfortunately, since Shimano road and gravel cranksets do not have removable spiders, you could run a Sigeyi but would need to order a Sigeyi + ROTOR 24MM crankset which is one of our best-selling power meters, but this is a bit more expensive since you are having to order new cranks too. We often recommend the 4iiii left crank arm or power meter pedals for Shimano road and gravel crankset riders. However the 4iiii will only measure left side power whereas the Sigeyi will measure both.
300 for a power meter is... Quite absurd in my mind like, not only its been years since they been introduced, it seems like no progress has been made, they arent super advanced electronics Its like charging 500+ bucks for electronic group sets when they are glorified rc car components and again, nothing fancy to implement either... Electronics is the cheapest form of technology ever, except in cycling because either the industry think we are stupid or idk
look at it this way, power meters have stayed $300, not much else has stayed the same price the last 5 years, so really if you look at inflation they've become cheaper
We agree, $300 is not a small amount of money! But there has bee a phenomenal amount of progression in power meters since they were first introduced. Originally they were over $2,000 and extremely hard to come by. We now have a wide range of options for under $400. As more manufacturers produce power meters, they only get better and more affordable. Happy riding!

4iiii Factory Installs are also a great affordable option that we offer if you already have a crank that they can service!

Magene PES was left out...
Magene also makes great and affordable power meters and we sell lots of them. We hope to make a video on their products soon.
What Sigeyi should I get for Ultegra R8100 setup?

Your paying for the RnD time and the calibration time. If you tried to make one for yourself you'd be in a lot more than $300
