I brought the 22 beta a yr ago and it so nice to ride a find that can put the power down well a just pulls and I agree with the start button fires up straight away and I've had some mega starts this yr , only thing I would say is get the suspension set to you felt like a different bike and I can push into corners now instead of feeling like front was going to wash out
GasGas has a smaller tank but will still go further due to better fuel mileage. I’ve had both and kept the 22 Beta 300RE. I like the Beta motor better.
Thanks for watching! Yes that is a great comment and note regarding fuel economy. That is one area the carb will always be lacking. If we had more time to ride the bikes for a few days we would of gotten a better gauge on the fuel mileage. Enjoy the ride, Jared
@@kameronleitzel8109 true, but jetting is easy enough and I purchased a larger tank. The $$ saved will go towards gas and tires. I’ve considered a SmartCarb. My friend had one on his 22 Sherco 300 and it was decent.
@@3SeasRecreation In moderately tight trails i usually run 3rd gear in the mid-range on my 300XC TPI. This returns 20mpg. My carb bike would get maybe 12 mpg. The TBI motor is stronger but gets about 16mpg. Most riders will make it through hare scrambes with the stock tank and no fueling stops on a TPI, but a TBI is hit/miss. Part of that is due to fuel pickup location, TPI draws from the bottom of the tank, TBI has a foolish design that draws from 4" up in a cup that fuel has to splash up into.
just a comment on jared's warranty statements, unless you live close to the dealer, the warranty is worthless. my xtrainer cost me probably 1k including special tools, not counting my labor in the first 5 hours. next time it broke, my dealer, brewer cycles, picked it up, kept it 5 weeks and tried to charge me another grand to get it back. props to jared and his family for the great service and technical help, kept me from trading for a red or green bike
The warranty is only worthless only if the dealer is barf ! IOW, if you have a good dealer, they'll honor a 6 or 12 month warranty through Beta. The Race Editions may have none, or 30 days, standard for the industry. But the XT's have 6, and the RRS's a 12 month which is awesome. Shame some dealers can't treat customers right.
Really interesting comparison - I have a 2021 GG EC300 and have test ridden both Beta RR and Sherco 300's. A few observations based on 127 hours on the GG. You're right, there's no big 2-stroke hit. The way mine is tuned, it has very linear power, great for trails - either tighter or faster flowing. My racing days are behind me so I've never adjusted the power valve to see what else is there and can't speak to performance at the upper end of the spectrum. Once the GG handle bars were moved to the forward position - the seating position is very similar on all three bikes. I've never touched a clicker - the suspension works well for me in trails and tracks straight in faster, whooped-out sections. You mentioned starting the bikes - the GG TPI needs a warm-up period or, frankly, will not run cleanly/pull very well. I added a temp gauge to know when she's reached about 125-130 degrees, then ready to ride off. The TPI burns far less oil than a premix bike (rode an entire season on one spark plug too!) and with the type of riding I do, get about 75 miles to a tank of fuel. GG is the "budget" KTM brand - you mentioned chrome not coloured wheels, same with the handle bar. No fan kit, no mode switch. The plug-ins for both are there - parts are an added cost, if you want them. Everything else, to the best of my knowledge, is the same as a KTM or Husky. I actually love the GG for the type of riding I do, but where I live I need a street legal license plate for dual-sport events - can't get that with the GG.
Good Morning! Thanks for watching our video and giving a solid review of your Gas Gas. The customer that traded the Gas Gas in told me to MAKE sure it is warmed up and he did the same thing with the temp gauge. The Beta also has oil injection and it uses a lot less oil as well. I think you are the perfect buyer for the Gas Gas and we even hinted towards that in the video. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Nice vid. The only thing I'd point out when comparing the gasgas to xtrainer is you'd need to spend some cash on the xtrainer to get the same suspension performance (I know cause I've dumped thousands into my 2019 xtrainer ;) ) suspension)
Thanks for watching our video! Yes, I really wasn't trying to compare the whole bike but rather just the power delivery of the EC300 engine power seemed to be similar. I will say the XTrainer brakes are 100x better! Enjoy the ride, Jared
What an outstanding video! I am a long time ktm rider and currently ride a 23 sx 250 pre mixer a 21 factory edition 450 which I love both but will be RX 300 mounted in 2024 ! I had one lined up last week but deal fell through, hopefully local dealer 100 miles away will have one soon because I can't wait !!! Love these videos and rider and tech input , you boy's definitely bleed Beta lol 😆 3 seas will definitely be my source for parts etc- keep up the great work 💪
Glad you enjoyed it! I have two 2024 Beta 300 RX models in stock! Shipping is possible as well! We look forward to being your parts dealer! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
I know this is an older video but some of the things you pointed out Jared seem backwards. Kickstand, the GasGas (KTM) kick stand is perfect and have never seen a bike fall over, etc. But the Beta kickstand is way too short and bikes in our group fall over. Oil fill port, the oil fill on the Beta is too low and when you go through streams of water it can seep into the oil tank where the GAsGas is up at the highest point where water can't get into if you tread deep rivers or streams. The guys talked about vibration - the worst thing about the Beta is how much it vibrates even with the counterbalance system. The GasGas (KTM) has the absolute best counterbalance system there is, that's proven and industry known and smooth as butter. The EC GasGas is the trail version so if you want more punch out of it you simply adjust the power valve and it will kick butt and outrun the 300 RR. The resale value on any KTM is the absolute best in the industry. As for fast pace rides and races, the Beta can get really twitchy and you will see most guys with Beta's install stabilizers, KTM's GasGas are extremely stable. And one thing I can't understand is, why isn't Beta even entered in the pro enduro races? Sure you have B level guys racing them but there are no pro's on them and at least Sherco has riders, but no Beta. Very strange. Even guys that are not sponsored at all but are pro level all ride KTM's, Husky and GasGas, never a Beta. Anyway, not like a group of Beta lovers were going to give a fair comparison to an old traded in GasGas so thought I would point out a few things having known and ridden both bikes for many hours myself.
I have the GasGas 300 EC but fitted a map switch. I have an aggressive map and a mellow map. There is plenty of hit and top end in the aggressive map. I have owned 8 KTM 300's and the power in the GG feels as good as some of the better KTM's I have owned. I ride very technical terrain though and that mellow map comes in handy, especially after 4 hours or so in the saddle. Sadly we don't get lots of dealer support for the Beta here in South Africa. Pity, because that bike seems to have a lot of fans.
I would love to hear a comparison between the 200 and 300. I raced 250's mostly and loved them but I always felt faster on a 200. Not sure why but my lap times were very close usually.
I have EC300 and I only ride Hard Enduro. I have even switched from Performance mode to Soft mode and ride in it all the time. Try to have less agressive bike, as for slow tricky/rocky parts agressive doesn't seem right to me :D
Interesting comments on the Gas gas power, I have just upgraded from a 2018 KTMXC300 that had many mods to give it max power that could be achieved on a 300. I now have the new Gas Gas EC300 pretty close but have found the power valve seems to have a much bigger change to power delivery than on a carb bike. Half a turn out on the power valve adjustment and takes the bike from a pretty gutless feeling machine to an aggressive angry beast. Would be interesting to know if you guys adjusted the power valve at all?
That is a great comment and one that we did not spend much time tinkering with. This Gas Gas was raced by an A level rider and knowing how he rides I had assumed they had the power adjusted for the "HIT". The bike has since sold so we can't redo it... Enjoy the ride, Jared
I have a ‘22 300RR Race Edition, and a ‘21 390RR Race Edition. I’m still dialing in the suspension on the 300 after getting it sprung and valved for me, but the motor is simply amazing. Best 300 two stroke motor available right now, no question. The 390 is the best four stroke I’ve ever owned, and with the suspension all set now I can ride that bike with an amazing amount of confidence. Beta is killing it, and they don’t show any signs of slowing down!
Good Morning Walter! Thanks for checking out our channel! I agree with that 390 4-stroke engine.. We just ordered one for the shop! You have two very good bikes in your garage! Enjoy the ride, Jared
I literally went three months ago to buy a beta 300 RR race edition that had eight hours on it and while I was getting my paperwork together someone online made the purchase and there was no more so I ended up with a 22 gas gas EC 300 and I like it a lot but my dream bike will still be beta until I get one
Damn that's such a bummer it got bought from under you. Hopefully there's a Beta in your future. From what I've seen, Beta really is trying to advance their product all the time. The 23s have changes on the horizon, so maybe you'll have to replace that Gas Gas in a year or so 😉
That is crazy! I def would not have sold that bike out from under you if you were standing there to buy it! Not sure where you are located but I would love to work with you on your next bike! Enjoy the ride, Jared
@@3SeasRecreation yea I got about a year left on this bike I have grown to love just put a tbi kit on it today and love it even more but my next bike with 99.9% be a 300rr race edition especially now the whole thing is kyb and I live in Georgia but done mind driving for right dealing where are y’all Virginia?
@Chad I would agree but I was just a call that said I was on my way to finance I'd imagine he paid in full but only reason I give them a pass is I'm sure they here I'm on my way daily and never see them if I was in the store yea f that but they have been incredibly helpful and everything still to this day I get like 10% off most everything there because I bought a bike there n stuff like that
We actually really enjoy the snow but it does make dirt bike season more challenging!! We got lucky with the last snowstorm, we only ended up with a few feet where Buffalo got over 77".... Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good Afternoon! Thanks for checking out our channel! I can assure you that our lap times are much quicker on the Beta in current form. The Gas Gas is a good trail bike but I don't see it being a great race bike without some modifications. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Between a gas gas EC250 EC300 or Beta XT , Iam 5'8 170lbs 55 in good shape hit the gym 3 -4 xs a week not a beginner but not a excellent rider either 😖 what do you recommend for trails a bit technical in some areas in Southern Ca. Iam riding a 1200 gs off road but have wanting to ride with a group who only ride 300's and you seem to have experience with the XT and GasGas
Went from lots of vibration to basically non, I disagree massively I’ve sold my 23 beta 300rr for a gas gas ec 300 as she vibrates like hell, bar and foot peg vibration like a old 500 2 smoke it was a deal breaker for me on long enduro races, also that zf suspension I though was awful on anything rough even slow speed trails, I had it re valved bladder kit added etc still wasn’t happy . Rear end is a sky scraper too i had a 10mm spacer which helped, Engine wise the bottom end is lovely with the carb lugges for days can easily use 3rd on slow hill climbs no clutch but I couldn’t escape that vibration mid range. The 300tpi bikes are silky smooth all over makes me was keep riding and riding vs stop to shake feeling back. Shame as I loved the look of the beta it also handles well mid turn but it was weird as speed over bumps wasn’t for me.
It kinda sounds like power valve on ec300 is run in an has the bike muted as far as hit goes. X-trainer is super cool bike in the tight stuff but to say engine characteristics are similar between the two is disastrously wrong imo. If GG is signing off that quick either PV is screwed in or something terribly wrong, it should be a rocket ship on top compared to x-trainer. I'd agree on brakes, EC300 has braktek brakes which does not have brembo bite seem to work fine but not a super aggressive brake. The nissin is a much more grabby brake. The GG is super smooth as far as vibration goes, beta is smoother than they used to be but definitely not close to the GG. The GG may not hold as much fuel but it'll still run longer on it's smaller tank. That's my 2 cents
Hello Jared, l m confused, a magazine run all 300 2 stroke on the same dyno and found that the gas gas has 43 hp at the wheel and beta 2022 only 38hp. But what you are saying suggests the opposite in terms of power
Thanks for checking out our channel! In no way is the GasGas a BAD bike we were just surprised in the lack of power that came through to the throttle. The simple things like wheeling over a mud hole seemed tough to do but the best thing is to go and ride each bike if you get the opportunity! The GasGas might fit your riding style just fine! Enjoy the ride, Jared
The EC300 here is Not a True GasGas from spain. This bike is watered down KTM. If you want to ride a true GasGas EC300 then it will be the Rieju MR 300.
Good Morning Brad, thanks for watching our video! Yep we even commented in the video that the "new" Gas Gas is owned by KTM.. we were a Gas Gas dealer back in 2012-2013 and we were not impressed with the bikes back then (Here in the USA the parts department was a disaster so we dropped the brand). I'm sure the later model pre-KTM bikes are good like the Rieju. Enjoy the ride, Jared
I have Beta 300rr 22 Racing edition cca 15hours and i just dont know why is in the Beta everything so soft, like the radiators and plastic, you need just to let motorcycle down and something will smack
Hello, Ktm exc 300 tpi 2018 and Beta RR 300 2018 are a little better than GasGas EC 300 2022 and KTMXC 300 2018 strictly your opinion, thanks to those who will answer me!🤝🏻
Thanks for checking out our channel! Yes, I also agree. I felt it get weird a few times in sections that I have been riding in my whole life. Makes you think twice! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Hey Good Morning, we seriously didn't touch it from how it was brought to us. The customer that traded the bike in is an A level rider and did a few hare scrambles on it so I figured it was set up the best it could be! Enjoy the ride, Jared
gas gas is ktms budget brand.....softer everything, with budget parts.....if I am spending 10k anyway 1 or 2k is nothing to get the bike you want.....would rather pay a lil more for something I wanted then pay almost the same for something disappointing
You guys should try riding Southern Oregon on your beta RRs , You will see that gas gas EC model runs circles around Beta, They're built for hard enduro. Steep hills ,mud, roots, Logs, tightswitchbacks. Riding motocross bikes in Southern Oregon is silly.
We are certainly a Beta dealer! And that GasGas certainly has a flat spot in the power band lol . But honestly we recommend you go buy whatever is best for you. I have no need to push the Beta sales around the country as we are a small family dealership in WNY. Enjoy the ride, Jared
One thing I can say without watching the rest of the video because I know what you're gonna say, The gas gas is much better looking than that ugly beta. Color scheme and plastic design on a beta is horrible. Okay, That being said, go ahead with bashing the tpi bike.
You guys should not be Reviewing a bike you know absolutely nothing about. That's how all this bologna gossip about tpi bikes gets around. And the oil pump on a beta is stupid because the line is extremely too long, Customer service may be great for beta because you always need customer service. You should know something about a bike before you start talking about it. It's not a moto cross bike, It is not timed like a motocross bike, Go get a moto cross bike and then review it.

@Chad I would agree but I was just a call that said I was on my way to finance I'd imagine he paid in full but only reason I give them a pass is I'm sure they here I'm on my way daily and never see them if I was in the store yea f that but they have been incredibly helpful and everything still to this day I get like 10% off most everything there because I bought a bike there n stuff like that
How you liking the weather now, yiuninnthay plus 6' snow effect zone? We were in Manhattan at the same time and no snow at all.
We actually really enjoy the snow but it does make dirt bike season more challenging!! We got lucky with the last snowstorm, we only ended up with a few feet where Buffalo got over 77".... Enjoy the ride, Jared
They BYOB is awesome!
It would be interesting to see some lap times on a trail for each bike.
I still have a 2001 GasGas 300ec and says right there on it, “Made in Spain” can’t be a true GasGas!!
I paid over 15 grand for 2022.5 250 factory edition with a 30 day manufacturer defect warranty. Really liking the Beta.
Bought my Beta 500 RR-S for $13.3k, so far loving it, can't wait to start all upgrades Jared been doing.
Thanks for clarifying the warranty that comes with GasGas, I really had a hard time finding out! Enjoy the ride, Jared
@@3SeasRecreation Once I get the payment book down I'll be coming to see you my friend. Only 4 hours on my factory edition.
I have Beta 300rr 22 Racing edition cca 15hours and i just dont know why is in the Beta everything so soft, like the radiators and plastic, you need just to let motorcycle down and something will smack
Good Morning, grab some protection for those radiators and you shouldn't have an issue! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Hello, Ktm exc 300 tpi 2018 and Beta RR 300 2018 are a little better than GasGas EC 300 2022 and KTMXC 300 2018 strictly your opinion, thanks to those who will answer me!🤝🏻
Beta is way way better than ktm husqvarna gas gas
Family owned and operated in Italy with amazing customer support and amazing feel
We love the Beta business model as we are also a family owned and operated dealership! They treat all of us dealers AWESOME! Enjoy the ride, Jared
had the gasgas. doesnt handle speed very well in stock form. beta is better.
Thanks for checking out our channel! Yes, I also agree. I felt it get weird a few times in sections that I have been riding in my whole life. Makes you think twice! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Gas Gas sounded seriously tuned down. TBI race version is more there style.
I could never trust a Justin Barcia fan
LOL OH NO! Enjoy the ride, Jared
They trying to sell betas. We can tell.
You my friend need a Snickers candy bar. It's suuuppeeerrr simple. If you don't like how it looks you don't have to buy it! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
