Hi Elvera, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! 'm so glad the ideas have been helpful, I hope the channel can inspire some new ideas 😊
I'm teaching 4 year olds in Korea and your videos have been incredibly useful. They are packed with so many useful tips and also provide a much needed creative "pick me up" when I feel myself starting to lag in the semester. Thank you so much for the content!
Hi there, thanks for watching! I'm so happy to know the channel has been helpful, my goal has always been to make ESL teaching easier for teachers. I'm very glad to know the tips and ideas have helped keep you motivated 😊
Hi Laetitia, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad the videos have helped to grow your confidence ❤️ I hope the channel can continue to inspire new ideas for your class 😊
Hi Daniel, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm really happy the video was helpful, group teaching is tough in the beginning, but it gets easier with time. 12 students is a lot though, well done for tackling that number of students as you yourself also adjust to online teaching 👍
Hi Jemma! I'm a kindergarten English teacher (EFL) for 3-5 year-olds in Turkey. Good to know that i'm not the only one seeing that beginning of the video of your class in my lessons. It is quite hard to manage them in groups! Thank you for sharing, I found this channel just today and I learnt so much already. Have a nice day and stay safe!
Hi Esin, thanks so much for watching and let me welcome you to the Mooncake community! Group classes are VERY challenging online, especially if the class is very large, but I'm glad the channel has been helpful. I hope you also a lovely day, stay safe, and stay healthy! ❤️
Hi Jema I am teaching young learners in Spain. Due to the coronavirus, for the first time in the history of Spain learning has gone online. Which is quite challenging for parents, learners and teachers. Your videos are very helpful!!
Hi David, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm happy to know the channel has been helpful. I hope classes have been going well and that you are staying healthy during these challenging times. Teaching online can be overwhelming for everyone right now, so make sure you are looking after yourself and taking things one class at a time ❤️
Love your stuff! I've been stuck - I mean, excited to have the opportunity! - teaching ESL online during the coronavirus shutdown. I'm so fortunate to have stumbled across your channel. I'm up in Dalian, China.
Hi Dr. Robert, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I am so glad the channel has been helping you as you take on this exciting opportunity 😂 Any idea when classes will reopen in Dalian?
Wonderful tips. Tomorrow I have zoom classes and With your helping ideas and my own plans I’m sure it’s going to be awesome. Thank you, once more, from Claudia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Hi Dulce, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad the video was helpful. What age group are you currently teaching?
Hi Karina, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. How are classes in Mexico right now, have you had to recently switch to online teaching?
Hi Christina, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video 😊 Are schools open in Taiwan right now or are you teaching online?
Hi Monica, it would completely depend on the software you are using to teach. If you have software that allows you to use a whiteboard, that can be used to give visual representation to students. A chat feature can also sometimes help, again, depending on the software. If you don't have the ability to use a visual cue, then I suggest using the same colors for the same students each week so they know clearly what their color is. I hope that helps!
Hi Fjord, thanks for watching! I don't currently but I think I will make some resources for teachers to use online. If you're confident creating PPT's you can also do this with PNG images that can be moved manually in class 😁
Hi Sandra, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I hope you are staying safe and healthy in Peru right now. Have you recently started teaching online?
@@MooncakeEnglish With your tips they are going great. Hopefully, in 2 weeks I start regular classes. So it's time to watch again all your old videos :)

Hi Meera, thanks for watching! It really depends on what software you're using to teach. With Zoom you will need to have a PPT presentation or pictures open ready and then switch screens when you would like students to see them. However, software like ClassIn allow you to move things around more freely.
Hi Stephanie, thanks so much for watching! I am so happy the videos are helping you 😊 How have classes been going? I hope you are managing well during this tough period.
I've been struggling with group management lately. Besides, parents are surprisingly unsupportive with their children's education. :/ Thanks for your tips!
Hi, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! Class length depends on the age of students. For 2-4 year olds I would only have a 20-30 minute class. For older students you can teach for longer. I have used Zoom as it is free and easy to use. But I know that many teachers have been using a variety of different platforms. I hear that ClassIn is good, however, you need to pay for a subscription. I hope that helps!
Hi, Jema! Great video , thank you! My question is, how do we assign the colours/numbers to each student? Is there a Zoom feature that does that???? Thanks!
Hi Kon, thanks so much for watching! It depends on the software you are using to teach. For Zoom, I would try using the whiteboard, as that can be used to give visual representation to students. If you don't have the ability to use a visual cue, then I suggest using the same colors for the same students each week so they know clearly what their color is. I hope that helps!

I have seen your videos on interviews and introduction video (which are great btw). I'm struggling with cover letters and how to present one, since there are so many different takes on this. Could you please give advice?
Hi Omari, I'm really glad the videos have been helpful! Regarding cover letters, I would include information that highlights qualities and experiences that are specifically related to each job role. Where possible, try to find the name of the recruiter or hiring manager and direct the letter to them personally. Try to avoid generic letters for every job you apply to. I hope that helps!
