Thanks for the Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (do a google search)? I saw a video of an where where shut and opening your fingers then placing it on a body part but I cant find the video again can you please tell which video is it?
Ahhhh, thank you so much for this Jemma!! I've just started this week teaching little kids for the first time ever (I'm teaching several groups and the age range of my students goes from 6 to 11 years old). The group I have of 6 years old know nothing about English... and I'm not used to interacting with little children, but I'm ready to learn! You're an inspiration, so thank you! I'm from Spain, btw!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching, its really made me smile to read your message 😊 I'm so Glad the channel has been helpful, teaching children can be tricky at first but it gets easier! I hope classes are going well in Spain ❤️
Helpful, thanks. I struggle with having the imaginative ideas that teaching young learners seems to require. It’s nice to hear a few different versions of the same tip.
Hi, Jema I really enjoy your videos they have been really helpful for my classes. I teach English in Mexico, in a small town named Huimanguillo. I opened my own English school here and against all odds, I have tried to implement a new vision towards second language learning for young learners cuz many people here believe the little one might get confused when learning a second language. Now I have almost 3 years teaching pree-schoolers, kindergarteners and elementary school students. Thanks a lot for your videos!!! Greetings from Mexico!!!!!
Hi Damaris, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! Congratulations on the school and for implementing your vision of what teaching should be, excellent! #win I hope the channel can inspire some new ideas for you and any teachers working with you 😊

Teacher Jemma thanks a lot for your videos and teaching, they are super helpul and so much fun due to your sense of humor. I teach kids from 3 years old to 6 years old and I´m based in Colombia. I lived for 8 years studying and working with kids in London so that helps me a lot but I still need a lot of theorical teaching foudations, experience and tips. This is why I find your channel so edifying. Kind redards.
Hi! I'm from Russia. I've been teaching English to adults for 15 years and for the first time in my life I have to teach it to young learners. I am in a panic...Your channel is so helpful! Thank you very much!
Hi Thereza, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I am very happy to know the videos have been helpful 😊 I hope the channel inspires some ideas for your classes in Brazil!
Love this, kids love big books. It's fun to use the book as a big fan and pretend it's super windy, the kids love it. I also like inviting the kids up to come and turn the page of the big book.
Hi Melanie, thanks for watching! I'm glad you like the ideas, as you say the kids love to be part of the story telling process. What age group are you currently teaching?
Hello Jema, thank you so much for your sharing! I used to think it's hard for me to teach young kids rules and routines, especially for ESL learners. I will try to apply those strategies to my teaching.
Hi Flora, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so happy to know these ideas were helpful 😊 It can be challenging to implement the rules and manage the behavior at first, I have a video that might help. You can watch it here ruclips.net/video/Qf8cbQGknPI/видео.html
I'm teaching in Taiwan and basically that was how my reading class was in the beginning of your video At a complete and total desperation I started finding stories on RUclips that have been turned into movies like little cartoons. For example alligator under my bed. Boy was that a big hit. What it was is I let them watch it because it's like 6 minutes and then as I would watch it I would stop it and teach them through the video. Who is he? A boy. What is it? An alligator. This is what I do for a very tiny students but for the older kids they get the longer answers and then eventually after all these stories using this technique. I'm now able to teach them how to use the past tense using the same stories they love it. The only thing is I wish they had a projector that would have been awesome but I have to work with what I have. I do this for music science and story time and the kids love it. This was before I came across your RUclips channel. After 2 years of teaching my kids at my kindergarten their graduating in July and I'm looking for a new job and the only one I can find is a school that is quiet good but they don't use any kind of media in the kindergarten classes. That's no problem but they don't even have books. Nothing for grammar pronunciation phonics math so I'm trying to relearn how to teach again. I've been in Taiwan for 16 years
Thanks for the video. I need a piece of advice on how to deal with the situation when the kids are bored, don't concentrate on, don't sit while I read. Age 4-5; 5-6; 6-7.
Hi, thanks for watching! As I mentioned in the video, I would try and find ways to involve the students in the story telling process. If they have a higher level you can ask higher-level comprehension questions, like "what do you think will happen?" or "What if..." questions. I. would also make sure that they are able o understand the story. you are reading. If they are bored, it's possible the book level is too high or too low. I hope that helps!
These videos are so awesome, I'm in China and I find this very helpful, it's my first year so I sometimes walk out of class contemplating my life choices but I'll get there. Thanks so much!
Hi Danie, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I think I also did that many times my first year too, it does get easier though! I hope the channel can help inspire some new ideas 😊
What a great video! Would you apply the same amount of questions about what's going on in the book, if you have to read the same story every day and with the end goal of the students being able to learn the story off by heart?
Thanks for the Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (do a google search)? Thank you Jemma! I ran into this video by chance, and I'm glad I saw it cause we have a reading class 2 days later! I'm supposed to read the "brown Bear" book to my young students.
Hi Elvis, thanks for watching! I have had a few request for some live class recording, but it's a little tricky. I would need parents permission from every student and RUclips also doesn't really like videos with kids in them. So, for now I'm not able to post them. I hope you can understand!
Hi Jemma! So amazing. I’d like to ask you where did you buy this book? I am looking so desperately for it. Only standard size books are available in my library but I’d like a book that’s actually XL lol. Thank you!

Helpful. I had some problems last week to tell a story through meet presentation. I just had the story in digital and was difficult, because I couldnt see the students and they couldn't see me so we lost engagement. Has everyone some tips? I gonna try again sooner with a tablet as a book in front of my laptop screen 🤞 Thanks for all your videos. Cheersx
Hi Claudia, I also find that digital books can be a bit trickier! You could try something similar though, like having the class pretend they are robots turning the page by pressing a button on their wrist?

Hi Ilahe, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I hope the channel can inspire some new ideas for your classes 😊

Hi Gemma, your tips and tricks have been invaluable to me,, i just want to say thankyou! Do you have a wechat account which i can follow?
