The McLaren may have been in the wrong at the end there, but it's hard to be angry for such a top quality punteroony.
Just a slight knock there by the McLaren...
Top quality yeeting
The McLaren was tired of being bumped from behind and then shoved off the track, so he decided to turn the guy into Team Rocket.
"The space force academy returns!"
Ed Soundhead
I kid you not, I was driving the Audi R8 that the McLaren drives by at the chicane before he send the Porsche to space. I have everyone’s POV saved so I’ll have to try and upload the clips and put the link here for everyone to see.
My thought on 10:30 is that while the Honda did mess up going into that corner, the BMW was well aware of that and was capitalizing on that to make the pass. It's up to the BMW to make the pass safely, and they easily have it. The Honda realized they messed up and gave the BMW plenty of room, and the BMW just ignored the Honda and slammed down into the apex like they weren't there. IMHO this is 100% on the BMW. Sometimes you just miss your line, and that's what we're always hoping for other people to do when we're chasing, so we can make a pass, but it's still on us to make that pass safely.
I agree completely, this was exactly what I thought when I saw it. The BMW was not clear ahead and so was not entitle to the racing line, and as Jimmy himself said "it's pointed right at the apex"
Absolutely squeezed the Honda off the track
agreed
You're right on the money, but as the BMW was the one to suffer it's likely there wouldn't be much of a penalty applied.
Exactly
15:15 gotta respect the clean takeout.
Get well soon Jimmy.
Feel like I just watched a race from Burnout Takedown
seems like a racing incident to me
Jimmy and Super GT respect the good rammers
@Damar Fadlan I’ve actually only played Butnout Takedown and Burnout 3. I love both of them though!
Go big or go home
Just a crazy thought. Should I use my brakes going into corners?
no
idk man many people still do it but i think its unnecessary xd
It's less than ideal, I'd recommend using the car infront, it's usually more efficient
Naw man, brakes are overweighted and overrated. I'd just remove 'em entirely
If you want to drive quickly then why are you thinking about slowing down?
These "Judge your Crash" vids are always good for a laugh. Get well soon, Jimmer - you need to be on top form for next weekend!
11:30 hands down best racing advise ever
Love this series. My fav of your content.
2nd incident: actually, in almost every simracing community, reactive moves are NOT allowed. yes you can squeeze him, but only after he is besides you. and if he just doesnt react to your squeeze, the contact is on you. It is like that in LFM and every AC racing community I was in, and I am pretty sure it also not allowed in iracing and british gt irl. Reactive moves/blocking is concidered dangerous driving and can lead to multiple day bans in LFM and license suspension irl
5:14 I can not believe he called Daytona Charlotte 💀
McLaren going full Dragonborn on the Porsche lol
13:42 FUS RO DAH 🤣
5:30 that was at daytona, a couple years ago they added a front strech chicane
The Daytona road course has always had that chicane I thought, they just hadn't used the road course for NASCAR, just the oval
13:14 - 15:49 I think the McLaren probably hit the incident limit and got a drive-through from all those previous contacts and decided that; because the battle ruined his race, he'd ruin the Porsche's race. Funny to watch but really shouldn't be happening.
5:33 Looking at that situation while netcode definatly hade an effect there, it still looks like from the turning angle that the car on the right is aiming for the racing line which clearly isent possable in that situation. Based on that angle i would say the right car is a little at fault but not as mutch to cause a penalty and netcode definatly played a part there aswell.
the #7 got loose but still he should've tried to stay towards the top line so I would 100% put that on the #7
Didn't that #5 car also turn up.
@@julianhaarstad2535 No, that is the line to track out to the wall. Imagine a hairpin on a regular track. Out as far as you can for best turn in, hit the apex, then drive out of the corner using as much track as possible for best drive off. Same principle is used at short ovals. You can see the 4 doing that a little bit. Oval racing is all about momentum.
@@eclipze9412 yeah, his line on the exit looked like he was going to leave that top lane open. 7 cut down on him for whatever reason.
I hope they add rocketpoweredmohawk along with jimmy to every aspect of the f1 coverage
That McLaren better show his signature on the track-lease or he's going to have to explain himself.
The thing about oval racing, especially on iRacing is that it’s also on you to avoid idiots, but I don’t think the 5 had time to check up so it’d be the 7 who is more at fault. That being said it wouldn’t be a penalty on either car irl.
Yeah especially with it being street stocks unless the 5 locked up the brakes he was probably too tight on the corner to even be able to react
The SS race with the 7 car was a racing incident, look at the yaw in the 7 car he got loose on exit and was just chasing it... the 7 ran out of talent and owes an apology but it wasn't a decision to move down IMO
8:17 the 7 car definitely came down into the 5's racing line and it's not very realistic to expect the 5 to be able to react since street stocks can get pretty tight in the corner
I’ve already been listening to Fast and Loose and had no idea you did the practice sessions! Why don’t they include those on the podcast too? I’ll be tuning in for COTA next week
5:35 what a recovery
For something like in the last clip, the McLaren dude should instantly loose all his licenses :D
5:15 close, but it’s actually Daytona. Specifically, it’s the variant that NASCAR used the past couple years due to using the road course sort of last minute (COVID reasons). It’s the normal 24hr track but a chicane was added after turn 4 like what you could see in the clip.
10:58 - «Why are you here?»
Missed opportunity for a Red vs. Blue meme!
What if you know it's the other guy's dream to be an astronaut?
This was a pretty fun vid, Jimmer! Enjoy this more casual content :) Cheers from Canada.
Doing anything while being ill is impossible for me especially something like this where you have to actually use your gray stuff, you are an absolute legend jimmer
5:16 ah yes, can’t wait for the Charlotte 24 hours
8:21 it looks like the 7 lost the rear and was trying to save it and came down the track, I declare this one a racing incident
13:42 the way he just goes absolutely flying though LMAO
Hey Jimmy I hope you are feeling better soon.
8:04 - 7 is at fault, btw you can actually be a little less predictable on oval racing than F1 or that sort of thing, more room to manuever on the track unless the guy next to you sticks you to the bottom mid corner, then you have to change your angle of attack for the exit.. and.. yadda yadda yadda
tl;dr you can be a little less predictable without error on ovals than F1 and stuff
Something i noticed people need to practice in general, they really need to work on catching their car after contact. accidents and little bumps happen, it’s always a little ridiculous when someone #1 drives really aggressive and come into your line #2 makes slight contact with you, cars balance is upset #3 big crash and get pissy with you
like we want to have fun so aggressive driving isn’t all bad, yeah we’ll have contact, but it feels like people are so dead set on hitting the apex they won’t steer their car or let off the gas even when they are about to get flipped around
oh same story if someone brakes early, gets bumped, and just has no plan for getting their car under control
2:53 Roles reversed, the Ferrari pulling the ol' George Russel Texas GP move on the Merc 💀
I think the 7 car in that street stock iRacing clip was loose out of the corner and trying to save it, not cutting down on purpose so just a racing deal.
3:36 basically Japanese GP last lap
As an oval racing enjoy at 8:00 the 7 car was setting himself up for a pass in 1 and 2 you can change lanes in the corner because contact is perfectly fine the 7 turned way left and was coming down and the 5 came up it’s they 7’s fault but it would be considered a racing incident that could have been avoided
That McLaren was doing his best Sakura Miko ACC impression.
ELITE maneuver
A message saying sorry after a race where you acidentaly hit someone goes a long way
6:10 one angle challenge AND your mug is covering all the important bits...
That last crash is hilarious 😂
Another episode of:
Novice, Numpty or NetCode?!
I feel like the AI in F1 21, are very poor at realizing that there is a car in front or beside, as I tend to get clapped very often either during overtakes, braking zones, where the AI tend to change the direction mid braking, and they love to clutter up the side of your car absolutely annihilating the floor, wings, and other car parts.
7:15 Killed me Jimmy
That Mclaren just sent that porche to the pearley gates
Thanks for another great vid! Also I was wondering how do we sub,to our own sim racing moments?
6:25 I've had this loads of times where the person thinks they have the right of way because they're in the slipstream and I've legally boxed them in.
Thanks for the content as always Jimmer, and get well soon!
2:32 Huge Jimmer W
I know it's because you felt ill, and i hope you feel better, but i really enjoyed the more mellow Jimmer. The RUclipsr Shout™ starts to hurt my ears after a while
"Such is my commitment to mediocre content..."
And that's why they call him Jimmy "Yeah, he's alright" Broadbent
"you could argue he's left the track here" as he's hugging the wall all 4 wheels on the grass...
1. Naughty AI
2. TBF, he almost looked as though he could have held that corner. But dude went scuba mode on that one.
3. Fair move I think. A bit aggressive. I think he thought he'd head you off with his block and didn't think you were beside him.
4. He definitely turned in as though you weren't there. Shame on him. Although, netcode, so... 🤷♂
5. Your driving on the straight was questionable, but he moved across and initiated contact. That's on him.
6. The 7 looks almost like he got loose out of the corner. His line shouldn't have looked like that. His fault.
7. That's just strange. But that's what a race looks like when the internet connection is being handled by a shoe box.
8. Okay, that's the BMW's fault. Your line was honestly... really bad. He probably thought he'd have the momentum to slip by you.
9. I think LMP forced that incident trying to keep pace with the one ahead. Netcode ended up finishing it off, but it's no fault of the BMW.
10. Porsche was impatient (McLaren WAS a little slow into corners). McLaren retaliates. They have the equivalent of a car fist fight. Hilarity ensues.
Jimmy Broadbent and Will Arnett working on the same thing? My two favourite worlds have collided!
Love this series, keep ‘em coming
0:21 if this is mediocre content then this is the best mediocre content available
The launch at the end was the best part ❤
I'm an oval guy, with the 5/7 it looks like he had gotten loose (understeer for you Europeans) earlier in the corner and was coming down the track in an attempt to keep the car from crashing, and just wasn't aware the 5 was there, still the 7s fault but I'd chalk it up to a racing incident more than anything
as a fan of f1 and only f1, I often forget how slow and clunky every other car is compared to f1 cars. I'm constantly like 'why aren't they speeding up' or 'why aren't they turning' and then I remember that 'oh, they're not f1, that's the best they can do' xD
Love these videos reacting to the absolute dumpster fires that these people create sometimes
I love how the Haas at 8:30 is NOTmaldonado
that not a divebomb move is a typical verstappen overtake attempt
Each of these videos is better than the previous one
A couple of these could've been avoided by the car behind just lifting or tapping the brake instead of committing anyway and hitting their rear corner (e.g. the oval one). It's either a lack of spatial awareness or lack of patience... as for Honda vs BMW I'd put that firmly in the realm of "the Honda can't just disappear" instead of taking a pop at them for understeering. The BMW had the whole rest of the track width to work with but decided to be a BMW driver instead.
8:23 correct me if I'm wrong, but this just seems like a racing incident. It looks like the 7 had quite a bit of over steer coming off the corner, and the 5 was moving up sticking to its lane, and the 7 was trying to catch the car and prevent it from spinning
I had no idea about the live podcast dude, that's awesome!
that very first crash lol. sent homie into low earth orbit
One of the greatest hits of all time.
that oval racing crash seems to be both drivers because the five could of kept the inside but also the seven could of kept in his lane to so I'm going to say its a racing incident
love these videos, hope you are feeling better by now
Really enjoy your analysis. Insightful and not BS hot take chaff.
Jim Jim, how about reacting to dash cam videos. Wife and I have great fun criticising the driving and makes us realise how most incidents can be avoided by driving defensively.
Your analysis could even be beneficial to some of the boy racers out there. This is of course assuming you're a sensible road driver. 😜
In oval racing often the "line" tracks out to the wall and two lanes converge into one spot and its typically up to the outside driver to keep up close to the wall so the inside driver has room to complete the corner and run one lane down, the #7 car seemed to have gotten loose and tracked off the wall, taking up a lot of room to save it, and got "turned off the nose" of the #5, so for sure the #7's fault but I'd say 100% not on purpose.
What type of rafing is that AMG clip with the M4 and those other two cars that don't look like standard production cars? Why are those cars racing on the same grid together?
8:06 I would say it was a very late block
I did an oval in iRacing. The guy behind me ran into me and gave me a 4x BEFORE WE HAD EVEN STARTED THE ROLLING START!!!!!!
Just wanna say, if you want to get a better headset in terms of comfort and sound, both microphone and audio, get the sennheiser Hmd 300 pro. They also look more stylish
YESSSS A JIMMER UPLOAD IS A GOOD UPLOAD❤️❤️💯💯
5:18 is that Charlotte?????? I thought you would’ve recognized Daytona
7:49 it ALMOST looks as though the 7 car got loose on his own causing him to come down the track. It also looks as though the 7 car never straightened out of the corner. Maybe a futile block attempt? That one is hard to call.
8:00 only reason 7 wouldnt be at fault is if they had an issue and were trying to get to the bottom of the track and get out of the way asap
Thanks for this Jimmy, is truly an amazing story
15:23 hopefully the guy will send some pics from Namek 🙏
Does anyone else remember how overpowered the Ai was in Gran Turismo 5 especially the Formula races???
8:06
I think the guy in front got loose off the corner and started coming to the left as he was sliding. If that's not the case, you're correct, it's his fault. But if it is, it's a racing incident
That McLaren turned that Porsche into V2 missile.
WOAH did George Russel watch the first clip before he yoinked sainz?
5:16, thats actually daytona, they're just running the nascar layout which adds an extra chicane off speedway 4
jimmer im having quite the fever myself soo im with ya there... 🤣
10:04 Sussy mogus 😳😳😳
That Lag incident is a EAcident
Daddy teaches Son a hard lesson, about not making mistakes
jimbo the stewardo
Circle and/or oval racing in non f1 cars is 100% not about being predictable 💀.
2:36 Happy red dead noises
So I’m a NASCAR fan and I’ve started to get into F1 more from 2019 and in the COVID, I enjoy it for the most part but I just need 1 thing explained
What does it mean when some “owns the corner” or “the corner is his”. Can someone explain that to me?
Also just let F1 and NASCAR fans live in peace, we both love racing just different types.
5:35 i would not call that racing incident jimmy that was avoidable and looking at it even if the netcode didnt have an issue he still would have just turned into the guy in front it just seems like he misjudged where the other cat was honestly
I love you, brits, you keep world a good place. Yes!
14min mark. The McLaren consistently broke early instigating repeated bumping. The Porche should have slowed to maintain pacing with the lead. My thoughts are that the whole incident was caused by the McLaren.
First couple of taps in that Porsche-McLaren incident are innocuous enough, ordinarily you'd put that on the Porsche behind, but the McLaren was WAY too fucking slow in the braking zones, so it's kind of expected, it almost looked like he was brake testing. I'd say 50-50 up until the McLaren starts illegal blocking like mad, so I really have no sympathy for him.
What song was that at 8:31
