Nice clean installation! Maybe you can find someone out your way to sew a cover for the tank which could give you extra “easy to get to” extra storage side pockets and skip the painting. A boat top shop could make a cover just about any color out of Sombrella with black piping to match the bike. Enjoyed the video.
OK, how do you plan to plumb the aux tank to the bike tank, and what are the considerations for vapor lock or any other issues folks have had getting the fuel consistently between the two tanks?
I will plumb it the same as I have done my last 2 BMW's, I keep it very simple. As far as vapor lock, I had that happen to me once, during the 2023 IBR while using a Keg style tank that was mounted on the passenger seat. It was in the sun 24/7 direct heat and got very hot. This style of tank, with a Pelican case or some type of box on top, doesn't get the direct heat and I have not had any issue with vapor lock. Probably 60K in miles testing and no issues....Dave
Nice and clean! I'm not in the market but if I were I'd follow your lead. You shouldn't have any problem passing tech inspection. Just curious. Why the smokestack filler neck? Looks awkward. Joe
It's built like that so when the bike is on the side stand you can fill the tank completely, it does look awkward but all the tanks are built like this.....Dave
Gees American road designers have got it all wrong if you need to install an extra fuel cell on your bike. Australia is practically the same size as America, yet we have petrol (gas) stations situated every 250kms apart. You'll never run our of fuel here in Australia.
Nice looking design. I saw an article on ADVRider that the 2025 IBR is uncertain.
Yes that is very true, still other Rallies, the LDX is still going strong...Dave

Not a bad idea, ive seen that before....Dave

Its more about options on when to fuel than lack of gas stations...Dave
