Being a Human Haybaler is hard work - The 12 Days of Newness | Ep 9

- THE HANDMADE BALES: When men in their tractors towing harvesters made silage on my paddock recently I wandered around the giant green bails and marvelled at the efficiency of the process. But I also noticed entire seams of cut grass still left on the ground. I thought, you know what, I could run around and gather up the leftover hay, and make my own bales!’. So that’s what I did.
This is Day 9 of 'The 12 Days of Newness'

Have you ever done much sewing Beau?! What about a video called ‘dream hat’ where you construct your perfect hat! ❤ a long time watcher
Great suggestion. Even just repairing some used apparel and learning something along the way
Excellent idea
Reckon he should make a shade cap from caps he finds 😉
Day 13 of newness: Beau makes a hat...
Would love to see Beau take on a sewing challenge!
Beau seems like someone treating life like a video game. Runs everywhere, wears whatever gives him the best stats, and does every side quest.
Slowly acquiring more companions
Just building up the XP, can't wait for the Big Boss quest.
Next, he'll be diving off of high places into the bale for fun
A baling man, a sweaty chap,
No towel nor rag upon his lap.
He scoops the hay and binds it tight,
His sweaty brow a humorous sight.
The sun beats down, the heat intense,
His sweaty dance, a mere pretense.
He laughs, he jokes, he makes light,
Of his perspiring, glistening plight.
"Oh, sweat!" he exclaims, "You slippery foe,
You make me damp from head to toe!"
But he carries on, and bales away,
For nothing stops the man of hay.
up!
Nice Chat gpt poem 😂
Genius, thanks
Bloody excellent little ditty
@@samildanach It does sound like a chatgpt poem tbh, but it's a nice little poem regardless of how it was made.
At this rate you can watch Beau do just about anything and it's still gonna be interesting
I feel like that may be the overarching theme and I kinda love that.
Only other creator I can think of that's like this is Casey Neistat. Him and Beau have both got this mystical ability to make *anything* entertaining.
@@cineblazer Casey has a totally different personality and no one can compare to Beau
@@jasonrubik It's not a competition! I was just noting that both of these men have an incredible knack for storytelling :)
For anyone wondering, one 4x5 Round bale would be approx 50-70 of Beaus 'tuckerbox' bales (They are compressed quite tight). The shot at 3:06 shows there are 23 Rounds in the paddock that Beau is in. I estimate Beau raked between 0.6% and 0.8% of the hay in that paddock.
it's all a good day's work
It ain’t much but it’s honest work
Thank you I was wondering what the 'waste' from the bailing process was.
As a man who does the hay run every summer, and sweating my ass off every summer just loading the pre made bails from the tractor into the shed ... I can appreciate the effort put into making your own bails.
Bails motivated by balls!
my grandfather grew up during the depression and whenever we bailed we would go back in like this.
'The best things I own are often the last things I think about" Best line! I love making gear that is "forgettable". If I can make a product you never have to think about It means it has become a part of you, and that is the best feeling for me.
”Look at that rake, it got teeth like a British actor” - Beau Miles 2023
BRILLIANT! 😂😂😂
Beau, I'm eating a cold tin of beans (of the baked variety ) after a long day of writing up my PhD thesis, just wanted to let you know that your videos have been a real inspiration the last few years and these latest ones are certainly helping me through the write up, cheers!
I found a favorite hat as an adult. Changed my life. When I lost it I actually had a grieving period. I see Beau going through his own hat grief and I feel for you mate. You'll figure things out, we persevere!
Just commenting to mention how lovely Beau's descriptions of fatherhood are.
Beau's cardiologist must *love* these videos. This man is a machine
it's still nuts how you can make videos about pretty mundane things and yet they're still thoroughly entertaining
This has very quickly become my favourite series on RUclips and I dare say I’ll be a little lost once it’s over!
Great work Beauy
This was the perfect video. I'm sitting in an airport, nervous about what awaits me on the other side. Some light-hearted good fun was exactly what I needed.
I love how Beau is always running as if he's being timed
You sir are a treasure. An thank you for reminding me and everyone else that we aren't crazy to want to do things that aren't terribly efficient but bring us joy and wonderment when we do them by hand or with simple tools.
"I get to use my favorite machine: myself." I'm adopting this phrase from here forward. 32 degrees this morning, and me facing a 3-mile run in one of America's flattest and plainest neighborhoods ever--and now I have another mantra. Delightful videos, Mr. Miles; I enjoy these so much.
2:48 "Genuis!" has the to be campest moment we've seen yet from Beau, and I loved it. Great video as always! Fun thing to do out in the sun and as a fellow mega-sweater I deeply understand the dry shirt patch comment
My dad born in Sheffield England in 1906 would have called your tucker box, a campaign box. We had several mostly filled with camping gear. For when we went out on a campaign... Cheers from snowy wastes of Canada. ~ulrich
Tue running makes everything more entertaining. xD Thanks for another great rant about something, this time the hat. Love it.
It’s a breath of fresh air watching your videos and Van Neistat videos.
Beau's Bails sounds like a good name for a business
There's a positive irony of the Tucker box being repurposed into making Tucker for cattle😅❤
I'm just happy these videos came back
Beau's next business venture should be the perfect hat. I'd buy 2
BEAU!!! You need the SunWay's Legionnaire Sun Hat!! You got me into this style of hat and it for sure checks all your boxes. Also made in your neck of the woods. Not trying to advertise or anything, just a really fine hat. SOMEONE get this man this hat or show me where to send it LOL!!
You are the only person I have notifications on for Beau.
Thanks for the most wholesome, least toxic entertainment on the whole internet Beau
Beau you motivate me like no other thankyou! From a fellow Victorian
Every Time I see one of your vids it makes me happy 👍🏼
One of the best newness vids
Good to see you back Beau
This must be the handmades tale i keep hearing people talk about, interesting
As someone who grew up on a farm playing with hay bales a lot this is very satisfying.
Yep feeling ya on the hat! I understand the attachment and the loss..😊
Thank god you're back!
We love you Beaudy!
Lmao was thinking “like a Pom” as you said “like a British actor” - classic
This man was a honey bee in a past life
Your enthusiasm doing anything is really inspiring. Hopefully I'll be full of energy like you one day!
Thanks as always, Beau. Cheers.
I love this series, this is wonderful to see!!
Never ceases to amaze me that I can watch beau do absolutely anything and enjoy it
Among the many delights of this story is getting to listen to Beau say "baaiuhls" over and over.
I know. Correct pronunciation of the English language is a beautiful thing.
😀
Time for a line of Beau merch, starting with a Beau designed “THE perfect hat”!
I’m very excited to see this bloke skydive.
Can't get enough of Bgeau's videos! Blessed with another!
This was excellent, I'm not entirely sure why, but it was
I grew up on a farm and my dad made me one of these as a kid for me to stuff with hay. Our box had slots in the sides (2 each side) to thread a needle through to tie up, your's is much simpler. I would do that and make my own tiny bails while watching my dad in the field with the big equipment. Brings back great memories. Thanks!
I want you to know how you and your team personally impact my mental health in a positive way. Cheers mate. If you need another new thing; Come to Idaho and find an antler with me.
Good work mate love seeing you get the hands dirty.
Nice strong little Tucker box that Mr Miles!
Loving the current upload schedule! Really looking forward to the last three days.
Thanks for the smile my favorite Australian Van Gogh . I was surprised to see how much the tractor leave behind ....
During the hay hunting scene, I was reminded of the line ‘look Denis, there’s some lovely filth over there’ from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. An unexpected parallel, but a hilarious one nonetheless.
beau is a bloke on a mission
You're my favorite, man! ❤
Can’t wait for the sky dive video!
Glad you got it done and did not bail on the Job
Yaaaaaasss!! As a former parachute packer and skydiver I am excited for the next one. Well, I'm excited for any Beau Video but the next for sure. Can't wait to see how you Beau it up!!
We all love watching your physical machine in action Beau!
So nice, I watched it twice
That's a lot of work. Good job. Pride in that. Thanks for sharing this with us
I love the the randomness of your mind. And truly appreciate your honest sharing
I love Beau so much, I don’t watch much RUclips but this guy and the storror boys i really really love. I just recently found out that Toby Segar the legend himself is a big fan of you Beau. Happy to learn that my two favourite and so different channels are still connected. Between his parkour practice Toby is watching this !
You're obviously a big fan of the ginger beard!!
They are 2 of my absolute fav RUclipsrs
I just smile, when I watch your posts. 👍
Sky Dive, how many of these adventures are just a way of making sure the Mrs's scolds you. lol
I absolutely love this more and more. The way you think the way you are is just amazing. Thank you for making me smile and critical think every time you post a video. Your family is very beautiful
I've been having a bad time for a while, but your videos give me a laugh a lot of hope to keep working toward better days. Thanks, Beau.
The amount of beau films I have been seeing is astonishing!! Glorious beau!!
This seems so fulfilling!
loving it like always Beau. The more Beau the happier we are
as someone that has stood on a rake i can say it was the most hilariously painfull experiemce of my life.....right up there with jumping a bicycle and landing on the crossbar....everyone that saw it was laughing and crying at the same time 👍😆
Inspirational. I love the way you look at life
What you need is a stationary haypress ,horse drawn hay rake ,horse drawn hay wagon and a hay lift to put it on the wagon
The hay fever joke was good 😅
"Like a British actor." LOL!
The timing of the edit on that ending word. *Chefs Kiss*
Thank you so much for your enthusiastic expression of pure self! I have watched you for a few years here from Toronto, Canada. I completely resonate with your consciousness mate. I'm also an adventurer spirited guy looking for a new spark to light up my day.
If I find my self in Aussieland it would be great to meet up for a run and a pint.
Keep up the great inspirational vids, they are very well received! A friend from Canada, Peter 👍
Been a while since I've seen so much hay tried.
Well done!
One of the top 50 good people in this world.
I love how random these are, please do this again next year!
I hit the like button as soon as the vid started!!!
We used to do this ask kids, we'd collect a huge amount, lay it down in a swath, and then have our dad run over it with the bailer.
using a soil rake on grass has to be the funniest thing I've seen in a long while.
LETS GO BEAU! just loving each of your video
Beau where have you been bro? I have gone through bouts of worrying lol sadness and then withdrawals having to watch old videos again!thank god you found your back through the paddock onto our screens
Keep up the great Work Beau!
This feels like a TV show. Crazy production quality
Another winter coming soon. So refreshing to see the warm Melbourne days :D
This goes a long way to keeping the internet weird. My comfortably fitted toque is off to you.
love your work
Beau here taking the "touch grass" remark even a step further :D . Seem very much applicable in the long line of approaching things from a different angle and outdoor perspective.
Edit: I just realized people might see it in a negative context. I just meant it as the general remark for "going outside".
I walked into my shed one night and stepped on my rake like you almost did and it hit me dead center in the ole noggin. Talk about rattling the ole cage and being so mad I could of snapped that rake in half haha...
I have a large pile of logs that I'm processing for maple syrup season next year, I've been spending a couple hours on random morning before work chopping at it, it gives a good start feeling to the day, yesterday morning I thought, why am I not using a hydraulic splitter and being done with it in a day, Sir you put it we'll, I like using my favorite machine.
I think we need a whole series dedicated to finding a good hat...
I did the old stand on the rake trick. It came up and slapped me so hard in the chest I thought I had been shot. The whack in the nuts didn’t help either. Love ya stuff Beau.
Imensely inspired by your enthusiasm!
