Nice selection, well done 👍. You are correct about Tandorio and movements, the last one I received had 1.8mS beat error! Easy enough for me to correct, but they obviously don't check regulation.
They are great fun for a budding collector looking to tinker but for swimming....nope 😔

I brought the Aquatrident, in rose gold, earlier this month in the last Ali sale. I paid about £73. There were no reviews on YT so I bought it on a bit of whim. It's a very nice watch, it wears quite small and even on my quite small wrists I kind of wish it was a millimetre or two bigger. However, if anyone is buying this just for the loom please be warned that the coloured lume is absolutely pants. Even when charged up with my UV torch it lasts a matter of seconds! Other than that I definitely recommend it.

I re entry purchased the Watchdives WD16500. Absolutely a great watch. Fit and finish is strong.
They are well screwed together I think :)

The colour really pops!
The bracelet is a bit of a cost saving measure with the pin&collar system but totally serviceable, I got the otf clasp as an upgrade.
On the first day of wearing it, the colour fell out of the 12, but San Martin sent me new paint so I can fix it myself, once DHL has the mercy to deliver it.

I wasn't really going to buy any more watches for a while after I preordered Jody's Sporty, but then I saw the lume shots of the Aquatrident and was sold. I got notification that it reached Sweden today, so on my wrist by the end of the week hopefully. Please note that the price on Ali Express is going up and down like a jojo. I paid 1274 SEK on the 8th of May and the list price today (21st of May) is 2832 SEK. Both prices including VAT.
Also I could not resist to finally order a Welly Merck. The brand name is wack, but their "limited edition map series" in desert orange on a leather strap is on it's way.
The rest of the homage watches leaves me totally cold. That's good, cause that means less money spent for a while.

I put that Seestern Bauhaus white in my cart using your link. I'm sure it's going to come way down in price when the sale starts next week. I really didn't like the original colors, but I love white dial watches!

Yeah, good list. The Speedy-esque looks like a definite step up from the Pagani. The Tandirio at #9 looks really nice, esp for the price! The Seestern is the one I'd be most likely to buy though I have a pretty similar Sea-gull. Not quite loving the square-ish Tandorio though I appreciate they are doing something different. Good vid!

Very nice list! That IX&DAO Sector watch (as far as I can tell) seems like an original design, and it’s brilliant. Yes the design takes some inspirations, but look out watch world once the Chinese start putting out good original designs… thanks as always!

Hi John, nice review as usual and some interesting choices. I really like the Tandorio, but just wondering why it would be a bad idea with a PT5000 movement?
In order for a PT5000 movement to run efficiently it has to be put together by technicians who know what they are doing. Proxima and IXDAO put out great pieces with that movement that are oiled correctly and are not gritty at the crown. Other brands you can tell leave the movements dry.

That sector dial IXDAO in Ti is an interesting one. I can't find a picture of the clasp to save my life though.

Nice to see Thorn listened to the consumer and took the bullet off the case back. To be fair, at a glance, the bullet did catch the eye but in the end if you can't wear the thing on your wrist what's the point. Good on Thorn for fixing that and that A11 design is just the perfect "go with anything" design.
The San Martin is a nice looking watch but I have never liked that snowflake hour hand. I wish I could learn to love it but I just can't.
Oh my goodness! Look at that beautiful Retro Tandorio square design. I think it might be a bit too big for my 7" wrist but what a awesome retro looking watch!! Yes, we do indeed love our Tandorio's 😊
I love every single one of the dial colors on the last and final Proxima watch. Just an absolute eye catcher, that one.

That’s pretty funny of Cadisen. I’ve owned the real Helm Komodo for years now. I might get this Cadisen in the upcoming sale just to compare out of curiosity! 😁

@@johnswatchjoint The Cadisen renders look quite amazing. It even has the 6 o’clock date wheel with round cutout like the original. If the bezel action is somehow good, this nearly identical homage would be very difficult to beat!
It's a devisive one. Homaging a watch that costs £300....but has a waiting list of years. I'm sure the trolls will come haha!

Nothing grabbed until the Proxima. Lovely dial and case. And that unsigned clasp is crying out for you to engrave a message or date or anything else on it.
I had a bunch of my watches that had room in the clasp engraved with my personal motto. So now when I snap my clasp on my wrist I'm reminded of the words I live by.

I have the Tandorio dive watch, it is definitevely water-resistant. Screwdown crown and case back (veeeeery tight that one, almost couldn't open it). I have the black and "white" one, more silvery/goldy than white. I love the look of it, and for once the no-logo version is closer to the original (Serica) 😉. I absolutely agree with you on the smile factor. It does it to me me every time 😊. Regarding building quality, I would say like a Pagani but with a better lume. And it's cheaper than buying the spare parts and building it yourself... The only part annoying me is the lack of date window, can't understand why the didn't just cut the hole. Legal issue maybe ? Anyone tried drilling a date window on a already painted dial ?
I am happy that you are the exception with your Tandorio. Unfortunately I can confirm that they are not water resistant having had one with water ingress while paddleboarding and another completely fogging up on me in cold wet weather in the Scottish hills. They have also been tested on another channel and failed miserably. They are great fun watches for modding etc but they are not to be dunked in water...at all :)

So who’s been buying subs? Not that I expect John to answer, but certainly someone else has been paying attention to these watch channels and has noticed. I don’t pay that close attention, to be clear, but I am a curious sort.
Just go to social Blade and check out the channels you watch. You will have background subs and views and then you will see exactly what is going on. It's really disappointing. For me reaching 10k was a HUGE milestone as a fair number of the people in that 10k have supported me from the start. They know me , I know them. This is a community that I am proud of :)

Sorry but I won't buy any of these Chinese watches, most of them are just ugly and well overpriced compared to the many that have been produced before! I do would take you to task regarding the water resistance of the Chinese watch - my addiesdives puck 1000mtr dive watch is perfectly waterproof and has been on many dives down to a maximum depth of 74 metres.(always used in conjunction with my dive computer)! I would state before the armchair divers start bleating that this is beyond the safe diving limits for sport divers that I am an ex Royal Navy Chief Clearance Diver and Editor in Chief of a Dive Magazine!
Hi. The only watch I do not trust is the Tandorio. I had two of mine fog up on cold wet Scottish days and they have also been tested on another channel and famously failed. I have not questioned other brands as I paddle board and have used Seestern Addiesdive and San Martin without issue. Just thought I would correct your assumption.
