I hear you on that. I think part of it is, the tickets are expensive. And if you don't live local, you are investing a fair amount of it includes a stay at a hotel even for 1 night. Being that the main cast is gone, as well as many guest stars, they do need to rethink how to provide a full day (or weekend) for people. From a vendor perspective, the two floors made it hard for people to make money. A table to vend costs over $600, not including paying for WiFi or power, which you need.

I'm British and a massive fan of the girls, but no one I know likes the show, it's not as popular here as in the USA, (when I was a kid it was 'buried' on Channel 4 TV at 10pm) and there's no merch unless you buy online which I do from Amazon, Ebay or Etsy, or fan meets like this convention, I loved the huge Sophia bag, I need that to put all my shopping in lol sometimes!
Hmmm...doesn't look great. Looks disjointed and vacant... despite the few people walking around. A great venue would be a more intimate space with zones that look like the lounge / kitchen / lanai / rusty anchor... and ALL ON ONE FLOOR!!! Id literally fly over from England to experience that. Who thought splitting over floors would be a good idea?!🙄 Could have been so much better. I'd want my entrance fee back.
This makes me so sad! It feels like the older the show gets, the less interest it is in it. It just hit me how most of the cast were in their 50s-60s when it aired. I'm almost 40. I wish GoldenCon was more accessible and intriguing. Thank you for being a friend!
I saw that Frieda Claxton cameo! Im sad to hear it was less people this year. My first thought when you mentioned the event being split up was, 'Is it accessible?' Was this known before hand (to potential attendees). Sometimes things like that can make a difference.
I don't believe it was understood before the event. There were escalators and elevators, but those were also shared by the hotel and other conventions going on,. The vendors absolutely did not know beforehand
@@StayGoldenGirls Oh dear, Im next year they will provide better information beforehand, that way people can know where everything is, and maybe make a central meeting point to chat and hang out. The hanging out part is the whole point of conventions lool!
Yeah. To be honest, I don't expect the people in charge to do a better job if they do the event again in the future. Two years in a row was poor communication.
